Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington boasts a generous 420 square meters of outdoor space, ensuring endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. Inside, the team follow the areas of learning and development set out in the Early Years Foundation stage. Outside, the beautifully landscaped gardens are a daily haven for the children. They can freely ride bicycles, engage in imaginative play in the mud kitchens, traverse willow tunnels, unleash their creativity on giant musical instruments, conquer the expansive wooden play apparatus and joyfully leap into the deepest of puddles!

In Wiggle Worms, the youngest babies embark on a journey of learning and exploration through sensory activities. The dedicated team fosters strong relationships, ensuring a smooth settling-in process for both you and your baby.

In Dancing Dragonflies, children are encouraged to develop independence and curiosity. They can climb the indoor climbing frame, engage in imaginative play within home corners and challenge themselves with puzzles that stretch their mathematical abilities.

In Cheeky Hens, the enhancement of speech, language and understanding of skills is a priority. Daily messy play activities ignite creativity, while focused topics deepen the children's knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

The team foster each child’s development as independent learners, ensuring they are enthusiastic and well-prepared for school when September arrives. At this age, free-flow access makes it possible to spend entire days immersed in the captivating gardens!

Both boys thoroughly enjoy nursery and we are very pleased with the level of care they receive. Forest is a massive hit and our eldest would spend every day there if he was allowed! The manager there is obviously very inspirational.

Little Green Rascals Elvington offers a great setting with lots of access to outdoor space. Visits to forest school and the maze are a bonus.
The biggest plus is the food. Cooked on site it always looks lovely and both my girls eat it all (one is a fussy eater).
Most of the staff are really lovely,
especially the lady who is in charge of forest school. The girls really like the staff and they are obviously well cared for while there.
The only (small) issue I have with the nursery is the policy on discipline. No naughty steps/seats here just a "no thank you" which personally I don't think works for persistent biters for example. It would be great if the nursery could work with children on enforcing a consistent discipline for things such a biting/fighting. For me it's not a deal breaker but I would prefer the nursery to support my decision to use naughty step etc. and follow this through at nursery.

My daughter started at Little Green Rascals just after her first birthday. She has struggled with settling in but the staff are fantastic and have taken amazing care of her and even rung me to let me know she has settled in once I had left so that I am not worrying until I pick her up. She loves all
the activities especially exploring outside and helping with the chickens and Guinea pigs. The outside space is excellent and they get to visit the maze to play and see the animals. The food is an excellent standard and they get to try things you possibly wouldn't eat at home.
They also get visits from Tatty Bumpkins so they can participate in yoga etc.
The range of toys and activities they are involved with is invaluable to their learning and my little girl has come on in leaps and bounds since starting at nursery.
The feedback given to parents at the end of the day and at parents evening is fantastic also. I would definitely recommend Little Green Rascals to anyone considering taking their hold there.

Little Green Rascals is a really excellent nursery: I would highly recommend it to other parents. The staff there take particular care to get to know each child: my son has a great bond with his key-worker, but also with other staff in his room, and even staff outside the room seem to know him. There's
a lot of outside space which is well-used, and the nursery benefits from having links to a Forest School and the 'Maize Maze' next door. The food also seems to be excellent, well-prepared, nutritious and inventive - my son eats better than I do!

My 2 boys have attended Little Green Rascals at Elvington since they were 10 months old...my eldest has just waved goodbye to start big school and what a start they have given him!! The staff are truly fantastic at what they do and the nursery itself really is home from home. I leave my sons there and
know that they will have the most amazing day...forest school, yoga, science, art class...the list goes on!! The food is beyond good, it's delicious, and all home cooked...my sons eat food I never thought they would and show a keen interest in cooking.


Leaving your child at nursery is never an easy thing to do but what Little Green Rascals offer makes it so much easier...highly, highly recommend it!!

This is a fantastic nursery with wonderful resources - our son particularly loves all the outdoor space they have! The Elvington Lane site has two wonderful gardens with loads of outdoors activities, and the Forest School is a wonderful part of the nursery. For Forest School, the children are taken
out into some safe woods nearby, where they study nature and outdoor crafts. Our son always comes back buzzing after a Forest School session!


Food is freshly prepared onsite and is a wonderful high standard; we are often jealous of the menus on offer!


The staff are wonderful and look after children attentively and thoughtfully. There is a great gentle ethos at the nursery which involves solving disputes by listening to the children, discussing the problem, and looking for solutions together. Our son loves the staff, and they have been brilliant with him, in particular with his own needs - he suffers from glue ear which affects his hearing, and when it is bad the staff are great at giving him more one-on-one time to help him and make sure he's involved with everything.


The nursery community is lovely, there is great interaction with the parents and regular activities for parents and children to get involved with together. Any issues we have raised have been addressed promptly and respectfully. We are delighted with this nursery and would not hesitate to recommend it.

We love Little Green Rascals! Our son was very reluctant to be away from us at first, and the staff were fantastic at helping him to settle in. He's been at LGR for about 8 months now and loves it.


The resources are brilliant, both indoor and outdoor. The outside space was the winner for us; they

spend so much time outside being active.


My son's favourite part of LGR is being outside. Mine is that the staff are engaged with the children, and don't do tough love. Cuddles all round, which is lovely!

Myself an my husband where nervous about sending our son to nursery for the first time, and feeling guilty. We first walked around LGR when our son was 2 weeks old and booked him in a week later to join from the age of one. Well he is now 3! And the LGR,s team really do feel like part of our family.
They provide everything for our son we would want for those days we do have to work. Everything they do is for the kids with their development, health and well being in mind. I truly and honestly can not recommend them highly enough! What a great team and environment of our amazing little special bundles to grow and develop!
