Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington boasts a generous 420 square meters of outdoor space, ensuring endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. Best nursery around. I looked at so many nurseries and had bad experiences at a previous nursery. My kids have never been happier or safer than they are at Little Green Rascals. We decided to make a 25-mile round trip twice a day just so they could attend this amazing nursery as none in our area even
come close to the standards held at Little Green Rascals Elvington. I would name the staff members that have gone the extra mile but honestly, the list is too long! From forest school to organic meals I can’t think of a better start for my children. Whilst the cost is reflected as a premium nursery, I feel like I get my money's worth so much more than elsewhere.

I honestly couldn’t wish for a better setting to send my little boy to. He absolutely loves coming to nursery and I know when he is there he has the best time and is well looked after and entertained. The staff engage so much with the children, they keep them busy and interacted always with different
activities. He has come on leaps and bounds and I feel like nursery massively enhances that. All the staff get to know your little one on a personal level, not just his key worker and that is a really lovely touch when we walk in on a morning and they say ‘Hi’. The meals and snacks are very very good also, mixed variety and also encourages children to try new things which can be tricky for fussy toddlers! They are home-cooked too which is amazing, and always smells delicious. Compared to other nurseries, this isn’t the cheapest, but hands down the care, the days out, woodwork shops, football, home-cooked food and updates on the app, it is all worth paying that big extra. Would 100% recommend.

Little Green Rascals Day Nursery Elvington has been nothing short of amazing with my little boy who is autistic and non-verbal. They go above and beyond to make sure his needs are met and ensure he is happy. When he struggles with the noise of other children they will take him to a quieter area and
he has various sensory toys that they have bought for him, to help him regulate.
He loves going to nursery and has formed some wonderfully strong bonds with the lovely staff, especially his 121 who is fantastic with him.

My son loves Little Green Rascals at Elvington and only on a handful of occasions has he said that he doesn't want to go, but is easily won over when reminded of the staff who he will get to see that day if he goes. The staff really are brilliant, they really take the time to get to know the individual
child and they appear to manage their behaviour excellently. The food is really excellent, incredibly varied and fantastic quality. The team at Elvington seem to be constantly making improvements, since our son started there a year ago they have increased the additional activities from football, forest school and science, to now include cooking, woodworking, French lessons and yoga. The woodwork has been so popular that we now have to do it at home. I really am delighted with how my son's time has been at Little Green Rascals Elvington and I'm sure he'll continue to enjoy his last 6 months before he goes to school.

Little Green Rascals has been very child-centered in its approach to us. When settling in my child they have provided a lot of reassurance and photographs etc. to help us as parents know she’s doing well and help us adjust too. I trust them completely and my child really enjoys going to nursery which
is such a relief. The entire team of the staff seems helpful and professional, I have experience with several other Ofsted outstanding nurseries and in my opinion, this one is the best.

Little Green Rascals at Elvington have gone above and beyond in making sure my grandson is well cared for and happy.
He has attended since he was 11 months old, and now he is in pre-school.

All three of my children have attended Little Green Rascals over the years and thoroughly enjoyed their time at the nursery. The staff are all extremely helpful, communicate effectively about day-to-day routine and give a very detailed handover at pick up. It is clear that all of the staff are invested
in the children, as my children have spoken about all of the staff with such affection, not just their key workers. The food is amazing, and the chef at Elvington always puts together a varied and interesting menu. The parents particularly love the breakfast snack bars and fruit he leaves out for us while we are doing the morning run!
Small downsides - very expensive and forest school is often cancelled.

Our daughter thrives at Little Green Rascals Elvington, it is a dynamic, proactive, and fun place for the children to be. She learns about new subjects in colourful and creative ways.
I love that she is learning sign language at nursery and teaches us at home!
It's a great nursery.
The small downside
is that it is expensive and the invoicing is really tricky to understand.

My son started at Little Greene Rascals during a time in 2021 when we could not visit the nursery to help him settle in and I was apprehensive. I was pleasantly surprised that he was able to settle in very quickly with his key worker and the rest of the team. As he has moved through the rooms as he
has got older he has settled well and the transitions were easy at each stage.
He loves to go to nursery and I believe the team have helped him to grown in many ways including helping him understand sharing and turn taking for example. His creativity has been boosted as well as his preschool learning. He has a good grasp on many things and I feel the nursery has a good balance of real life learning and fun.

The nursery provides a really good setting for early years development.


The majority of staff in each of the rooms are very caring, and attentive and we have always felt very happy with the practitioners looking after our children. There are some really great workers who are amazing at what they

do.


The activities are always good for the children and we get a good level of communication with room staff as to what our children have been up to and how they have been. This is great for a parent.


We have found the preschool room to be disappointing when compared to the rest of the nursery. The majority of practitioners here are really good, but the personal connection is lost due to there being too many children compared to staff.


The biggest letdown of this nursery that we have struggled with for the last four years we have used it is the management side of things where we feel there is a big lack of flexibility and compassion. Parents spend a lot of money here and deserve better.

A brilliant nursery, we have two children there. Very caring staff, and a lovely setting, they have so much outdoor space and the benefits of visiting the maze site regularly. They make every effort to be eco friendly, and have always happily used our cloth nappies which is a big plus from us. They
have an on-site chef providing a brilliant healthy menu.

I can't speak highly enough about this nursery. Our daughter has not only loved every minute of her time here but has also developed leaps and bounds in her speech, social skills and motor skills. The staff are all wonderful and we have loved all her 'Key Persons' in each of the rooms. The food is fantastic.
All in all, we feel a huge sense of peace of mind dropping her off there as we know she is going to have a wonderful, fun and enriching day.

Our little boy started at Little Green Rascals Elvington in January 2021 and since then we have loved watching him grow and develop. He has become a little chatterbox adding new words to his vocabulary each week, he shows an interest in different toys, books and objects. He loves playing and exploring
different areas both inside nursery and outside in the garden areas and loves getting messy whether that’s doing arts and crafts or playing in water or the sandpit. He has also discovered new foods which ordinarily he may not have tried. His key workers have all been amazing and he has created a real bond with each of them as he’s progressed through the rooms. All the team are very helpful and will go out of their way to help you, we couldn’t ask for more in a nursery.

Little Green Rascals Elvington is an amazing nursery, would recommend it to anyone and everyone. They really care about their work and your child. My little girl loves spending time at her nursery and her key workers, they have built such a lovely relationship. The nursery is big on the outdoors which
I think is great. It also has a great aesthetic and I really believe in their ethos. The food is fab and very nutritious. As a parent, I also get regular updates on her educational progression, photos/videos and what she has eaten throughout the day and how much. I feel up to date as a parent and I can talk to her about her day as I know what she has been doing. Handovers are also always informative and the staff are so lovely and friendly.

I have only had a positive experience with Little Green Rascals Elvington from start to date. Every member of staff makes you feel like they have all the time in the world for you, and nothing is too much trouble. As a mother of a lockdown child, I had to make the difficult decision to pick a nursery
without ever being able to step foot inside it, which was tough - but Little Green Rascals did everything possible to reassure me and help me and my daughter during those tough months. My little girl is 2.5 years old and currently in Cheeky Hens. She loves the nursery and all the staff, she can name them all and even tells me when their off days are! My little girl had limited speech capabilities when she first went to the nursery, due to a lack of exposure to other children during the lockdown. Within a month she came home with her first real words and has gone on to become the chatterbox everyone said she would become!
I couldn't recommend Little Green Rascals, Elvington more!

Couldn’t be happier with the level of care my son receives whilst at nursery. He has so much fun and eats like a king! Little Green Rascals have catered to his allergy. The level of contact including pictures and videos is brilliant.

My child has just this week started at Elvington and already she has been made to feel like she has been part of the Little Green Rascals family forever!


Dropping off for her second settling in session I worried that we would have some tears and upset, but it was the exact opposite. My child's key

person was fabulous and I cannot speak any more highly of how she has helped my child to settle so well. With just a 'bye Daddy' she was off and enjoying her day with everything she loves to play with.


My child's key person was excellent in keeping us up to date, regularly sending observations through her online learning journal, letting us know what she had at mealtimes and some lovely photographs showing how busy and happy she was.

LGR in Elvington is a fantastic nursery in a quiet rural setting with lovely grounds. The facilities are great and the indoor and outdoor environment is particularly stimulating and offers lots of adventure and exploration for the children to explore. It is apparent that lots of very hard work has gone
into the nursery by the brilliant, caring, kind and very helpful staff team, and their outstanding manager. I would very highly recommend this nursery if you are keen for your child to flourish and to have a great start to their young lives.

LGR Elvington have been nothing but incredible since our little boy started with them this year. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic, supportive and very knowledgeable about the age phase that they teach. All of the staff care about all of the children and they are always there to help if they can.
The use of the Famly app allows me to see what my little boy has been doing throughout the day and I am able to share what we have been doing at home too. Every day we are greeted with a friendly smile and delicious smells from the kitchen and my little boy is extremely happy to be there.
