Buttercups at Chalfont

The staff really go that extra mile with the children's health and education. The Montessori set up is second to none. My eldest left being able to write his name!

Buttercups is a truly wonderful nursery who have looked after both of my children from young babies. I trust them implicitly with the care of my children.

Can't recommend this nursery enough.

We have had an excellent experience with Buttercups with both of our daughters across all three rooms. The nursery is very well run with a highly responsive and communicative management team who will always and quickly make themselves available for any discussion. The care in the baby room is excellent, and we have always experienced warm, caring and experienced staff. In the provision, we appreciate the great outdoor space with the forest school and the Montessori learning to help our daughters be ready for reception. There are lots of opportunities for parents to be involved with the community at the nursery and come into the setting, which the children really enjoy, and it gives parents a clear idea of what the children are doing. We have been very happy, it is an excellent nursery.

We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend it to all parents. Children thrive at Chalfont Buttercups.

I have always been very impressed by the level of care the staff have given my son. I feel comfortable and safe in the knowledge that he will no only be looked after but nurtured in a way that will help him develop, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Buttercups is an excellent nursery - investing in and developing my son every step of the way, especially using a Montessori approach. He has loved Buttercups from day one, and I look forward to my daughter enjoying her journey there, too.

The teachers and care are excellent. As a parent, I feel confident in Layes development, confidence and how independent he has become over time. His learning and language are developing so well, and most importantly, Laye is very happy here.

We are incredible happy with our son being at Buttercup. He has learnt so much already and always has a massive smile at drop off and pick up, as well as many happy stories of his day.

We love Buttercups (Gerrard's Cross), it's a great, safe place and really helps develop our child's mental and physical skills. Lovely staff, with real consistency and minimal turnover, so we've to know lots of them over the years (we've had two kids there).

My three daughters have attended Buttercups over the past 6 years, each have excelled in their own way in the safe hands of Buttercups. The staff has always been very warm and welcoming/ the premises clean, educational and diverse/ the food has enabled my daughters to have a varied palette and not be fussy food eaters!

Our son started at Buttercups with the orangery class in September 2025, at just 7 months old. From his very first settle to now, the staff have been wonderful. The transition was smooth, thanks to the team's excellent communication. The environment is so inviting and stimulating for the children to explore and learn, with plenty of resources both inside and out. There are many activities designed to enhance their learning. Since starting, he has progressed from not being able to move and now standing ready to walk, all thanks to the staff members who are supporting and encouraging him to learn new skills. We recently had his first Parents Evening, where we had the chance to chat with his key worker about his development and address any concerns if we had any. His key worker truly knows him so well, and it was evident after our phone call. The nursery manager has been easy to communicate with and truly runs a great outstanding team behind her. I highly recommend buttercups!!!

We have had both our girls come through the nursery and so experienced every room. We think the rooms are all great for the children of each age and have remained impressed by the staff every day and at every level. Retention is extremely good which shows how well the staff must be treated by management and their care and attention to detail is reassuring every day. We particularly liked the outside spaces for the middle and older kids whilst appreciating the well designed and laid out building and outside space for the smaller children which brings them calm and fun all at once. It dawned on me that I'll soon no longer need to come to collect my daughters as they'll both be at school soon and I know I'll miss seeing the staff and having chats with them at the gate. Maybe time for a third I guess?

Our second child now attends Buttercups and for both the children, we have found the care to be great. Very approachable and professional staff. Sam (manager) is always on hand for any question you have - provides that extra comfort when you drop off your little person.

Our son has been attending Buttercups since he was 22 months old, starting off in The Lodge and moving to The Pavilion shortly before he turned 3 years old. We have seen some wonderful behaviours develop in him; he is confident, smart, and kind and we attribute these to a combination of his home environment along with the fantastic care provided by the team at Buttercups. The teachers there are great and very caring, Sam is wonderful, and we believe that the daily activities and nutritious menu give the children at Buttercups lots of stimulation and energy. We acknowledge that Buttercups is one of the more expensive nurseries, but we firmly believe that the quality of education and experience is excellent so, in essence, you are definitely getting great value for the cost. Thank you, Buttercups team - we know that we'll all be sad to leave you this summer!

Overall great place to send my daughter. She seems to be enjoying it. Staff are great and the daily updates at pick up and via the emails are very helpful. A few focus areas though; more insight on development and info on daily activities taken place. Price is also a bit steep.

The staff have been fantastic and caring not only to our daughter but also to us as we navigate parenthood and nursery for the first time. There has never been anything that has been too much trouble and we have appreciated all the questions being answered and the time that has been spent with us. We also love the daily updates and find the information really useful.

This really is a setting that takes everything you say into consideration. I could not recommend Buttercups enough!

The only criticism was the lack of shade on such a hot day.
