Toad hall Berkhamsted have been caring for my 2 children since 2021. With one now at primary school and my youngest due to leave this summer we are so sad to be nearing the end of our journey but so thankful for all of the team across all of the rooms for helping shape our children to the wonderful
boys they are. Not only do they get support, guidance and a stimulating environment to further their development, the care and nurture they receive along side helped them become independent and resilient happy children.

I have been blown away with Toad Hall in Berkhamsted. The staff are so friendly and caring. They all remember my baby's name and have done since Day 1, which I think is really sweet and a small sign of how much care and attention they pay. My baby has learned so much and every week I'm discovering something
else he knows that I haven't taught him - he said "cracker" yesterday which was totally new to me!
The nursery itself is spotlessly clean, always welcoming, and I wish we could cook like the chefs at home because the food looks amazing!

The staff at toad hall have been wonderful and the management very accommodating. A warm, caring and welcoming ethos stands out and I've felt as comfortable as I could possibly feel leaving my 16mo. The staff have always been forthcoming with updates about how she is getting on and their nurturing approach
has made the settling in process smooth for my daughter and for me. There is a strong sense of community with lovely events like cake sales, parents evenings and tea parties. Recommend very highly!

My daughter started nursery at Toad hall in September 2025. The staff are beyond incredible and my daughter loves going into nursery.


She has developed so much in the last 6 months and has really come out of her shell and is a much more confident little girl and is thriving


I was so scared

about her going to nursery but the transition has been so easy and I do believe this is because of the staff, they make it so easy!


Would highly recommend this nursery to anyone!

Our son has been going here since he was 9 months old (he is now almost 3). We have seen his confidence improve so much during this time.


He has built some really lovely friendships with other kids but more noticeably with a number of members of staff (he regularly says goodnight to them all when

going to bed at home). There is a real warmth and sense of 'home away from home' at this nursery, which we love. The food is fantastic, varied, interesting, wholesome and we now have a very confident eater who is willing to try everything.


The nursery was really supportive with key milestones, such as how he would transition to potty training from home to nursery, as well as the addition of a younger brother. They have all helped to make sure it's been a really positive experience for us all.


We're extremely grateful to the hardworking team of Toad Hall and have zero hesitation in registering our recently born second son there.


We recommend Toad Hall without reservation.

Delighted with how our daughter has settled at Toad Hall Hitchin. I was so daunting by the process of her starting nursey as she had a lot of separation aniexty, but all the staff have been so friendly, reassuring and after just 8 weeks my daughter is absolutely thriving. The care attention shown to

Toadhall is a wonderful nursery. I have sent four of my children here over the years. My children have enjoyed coming here very much and have always been very happy to come to nursery each day. The nursery staff always do fun exciting activities with the children so every day is fun, learning at the

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Toad Hall nursery for our little boy. He settled in so well and that's all down to the amazing team. The room leader, has been absolutely brilliant - so calm, caring and reassuring - and his key person, has built such a lovely connection with him. It really puts
my mind at ease knowing he's in such good hands.
They always have lovely little activities going on and he's so happy when we drop him off. It's clear the staff genuinely care, and that makes such a difference. I leave each day feeling confident he's going to have a great time, and that means everything. Huge thanks to the team for creating such a warm, nurturing space for him.

Excellent nursery. The staff and management do an excellent job and really care about the kids. Just recently modernised their communication methods including photo updates of what the kids are doing as well which is great. Excellent secure outdoor playing space. Would highly recommend.

My son has been attending Toad hall since 2023 and he is now in preschool and absolutely loves it. They are very supportive, the girls are lovely and caring with the children, food options are great, lots of learning activities and events. Would definitely recommend this nursery to all parents.

Fantastic care for my son and his friends. The team always focus on making sure our son is having fun, being creative, socialising, eating well and developing well.


The staff are all really friendly and have a real passion for what they do, my son loves them and his little brother will be joining

him soon.


Only room for improvement would be more photos and updates on activity. Also the invoicing and payment scheme is a bit difficult to follow but the team ensure we are getting the best available rates with government support.


It's also quite a small building but the team make sure the kids enjoy the outdoors when they can

Toad Hall is an incredible nursery and I feel so lucky to have found it for my son, when we moved to London in September. The staff are brilliant, so caring and engaged with the children and they always have time to chat to parents and provide info/reassurance. My son, nervous at first, is thriving
and confident and so happy at pre-school. I love knowing he is safe, well-cared for and challenged. I also love that the kids do Spanish and have so many opportunities at Toad Hall. Thank you for everything you do!
