Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries opened in 1999 in answer to Olivia Foley, the founder's, own childcare needs and inability to find the quality of provision she sought for her daughter. Since then, Hungry Caterpillars has grown from a small nursery with a handful of children to offering a full range of childcare options supporting families from the birth of their child through to starting secondary school. All of the services offered have been developed through listening to parents and Olivia's own childcare needs as her family grew.

My son started in January and he has had such a wonderful time there! On the rough days there was always someone there to give him a cuddle and make sure he was happy again! It's so wonder to see how much he has progressed and all the new activities he's now loves!! He's always been a jut of a fussy
eater at home but since starting here he now loves all sorts of food! My absolute favourite time of the week is when we get his artwork sent home and the pictures from the week have been uploaded to the app! Friendliest staff and by far the best local nursery! I can't believe he's only been there for 3 months and he gets excited every morning when we pull up! Thank to all the staff for being amazing! Can't recommend this nursery enough!!

I really appreciate that all the staff in the nursery especially my child's keyworker and nursery manager keep us updated with everything my child is doing, her progress and how she is interacting with all her friends. Her keyworker always makes an effort to get to know her and build trust. My child
initially had a difficult time adjusting but thanks to all the staff taking good care of her, she has now adjusted really well and enjoying her time at nursery. Thank you all!!

As a mum, choosing the right nursery for my 2.5-year-old was such an important decision, and I couldn't be happier with our experience. Since starting preschool, I've already seen such a positive improvement in his behaviour and social skills. He's becoming more confident, independent, and is learning
to interact and play so well with other children.


The staff are incredibly patient, caring, and understanding. They take the time to really get to know him as an individual, which gives me so much reassurance. I feel completely comfortable leaving him in their care each day.


I'm also very impressed with the nutritious meals and the variety of food provided - he's even trying new things! The outdoor garden is safe and secure, and he loves riding the bikes and scooters while taking part in engaging activities.


His personal care is excellent, and the regular app updates keep me informed and reassured. Overall, we're having such a positive experience and would highly recommend this nursery

Our daughter loves going to Nursery. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and engage with her, even those who aren't directly in her room know her name.
We get regular observations, with clear explanation of her development, as well as her likes and dislikes.
She has built some really strong friendships
with the other kids in her room, as well as positive relationships with the staff in her room.
The communication we get from the nursery management is also top drawer. They are understanding of issues, and are helpful in resolving them.
We are really happy with Hungry Caterpillars!

We are extremely grateful to have found such a nurturing and thoughtfully run nursery for our child. The staff are exceptionally caring, patient, and attentive. Since attending this nursery, we have seen remarkable growth in our child, particularly in her independence and communication skills.


What

stands out most is the way my child has become much more confident in expressing her needs, thoughts, and feelings, and her vocabulary and clarity of speech has improved noticeably after attending the nursery. The teachers take time to understand every child's temperament, strengths, and needs, helping them grow with confidence and joy. The daily activities are well-planned, age-appropriate, and engaging. The nursery also maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation, which is extremely reassuring.


Most importantly, my child looks forward to going to nursery every day, which speaks volumes about the care and environment provided.

My experience with this Nursery has been a very good one. My son who is now 10 attended this Nursery and we had a very positive experience. My 2 year old now attends here and he is also having a very positive experience and is very happy here. I feel that all the Nursery staff are polite, friendly and

Our daughter has adored being in "Toddlers" she's made friends, is confident and happy and I've never felt that she wasn't going to enjoy her day. Plus they were so supportive of her decision to use the potty (she decided herself over Christmas) and she loves being a big girl now.
Would recommend
them to anyone looking for a supportive and friendly place for their child.

Hungry Caterpillars are incredible. We are so happy we chose them to care for our son. He has settled in so well and the team are amazing, we couldn't ask for a more caring environment! He has come on leaps and bounds in all areas and we love hearing all about the fun activities he gets involved in

Our son started at age 1 and has been with the nursery for almost two years. He is now in the preschool room and approaching his 3rd birthday. The overall experience has been consistently positive and nurturing, helping him grow in confidence, curiosity, and social skills. The staff have been exceptionally
caring, patient, and friendly. He remains a happy, engaged, and more independent learner in the preschool room. The nursery supports imaginative play, early literacy and numeracy through daily activities, and opportunities for physical exploration. Communication has been regular and clear, with progress updates that have been reassuring and helpful for us as parents. The environment feels safe, welcoming, and well-organized, featuring clean spaces, well-structured routines, and ample opportunities for creativity and outdoor play. I highly recommend this nursery for families seeking a warm, supportive, and development-focused early years setting. Our son has thrived :)

Staff is friendly and helpful .
The nursery provides a good standard of food and nutrition for the children. Meals are well balanced and include a variety of fresh foods
The staff are kind and attentive
