Acton Park nursery is based within Acton Park’s Children Centre. It is one of the group's smaller nurseries offering places for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The small size enables the team to provide truly personal care in a cosy and homely environment. The children centre's location gives families access to a range of services, support and a monthly activity programme. They also have great links to all local feeder schools supporting children with transition.

A fantastic feature of the nursery is its location in the middle of the park, providing exciting outdoor learning right on the doorstep. The children take full advantage of this wonderful resource during nature walks and planned park activities which include regular Forest School sessions for Pre-schoolers. In addition, the nursery garden is full of exciting and engaging opportunities with large sandpits, dens and a vegetable garden.

Children also enjoy weekly French lessons, musical movement sessions and local outings which broaden the children’s view on the world.

My 10 months baby started the nursery 3 months ago and she loved it from day 1. The staff is like family to her and she's always very excited to go there. She gets to explore new things and gets a lot of attention and love from the team. I highly recommend this nursery for it's small size, and the warm
and reliable team.

Our child just completed 1 year here and genuinely gets excited about "going to school" and seeing her friends and carers every single morning. This to me, is the biggest sign that she is happy and enjoying the experience. Lisa the new Manager, is very focused on continuous improvement and ensuring
that the staff is engaged, compliant and knowledgeable. She takes feedback positively and implements actions to address it. The staff is very friendly, caring and they offer a range of activities to complement children's development. The nursery warmly embraces diversity, celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and unique backgrounds of every child and family. Communication is great and I particularly love to receive unexpected observation notes about our child, along with pictures of the activity she was doing- always puts a smile in my face! In addition, they share a weekly summary of activities every Friday to keep parents in the loop. I would highly recommend it!

After viewing several nurseries in the area, Hungry Caterpillar Acton stood out for me and I knew this was the right setting for us. The staff here have a genuine care and passion for the profession and everyone is warm and welcoming. My daughter started here in March 2025 and is always eager to attend
nursery. At pick up time she doesn't want to leave and she definitely misses being at nursery if she has been absent or on holiday. They have great outdoor space with a range of activities and equipment for the children as well as shelter for rainy days and there are always several activities set up inside throughout the day. I can see that since starting, my daughter has progressed with her learning and development. There are updates/pictures sent through the app as well as progress reports and meetings to discuss your childs on going development or any concerns. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a home from home environment with loving and nurturing staff.
Reply from Daisy Sanders, Marketing at Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Acton ParkThank you for your wonderful review. The nursery staff are amazing. Our child has been with the nursery for over a year now and since day one, they have been consistent in providing support and caring for our child, which has helped in his development and growth. It says a lot when our child feels happy and safe and we can see it during
drop offs, events, and pick ups. As a parent, that puts our mind at ease. Thank you to all your hardwork and for providing a safe space for our child.

This nursery has been such a great support to my daughter's growth. They have a range of fun activities each day and my daughter has so much fun she just can't wait to go in the mornings. The food options are always different, and healthy, exposing my child to so many flavours. They keep you in the
loop. And provide reviews to showcase how your child is developing. They also share photos of the activities so you get to see exactly what they do when inside. The team is super friendly and accommodating to the crazy minds of a parent and always there to support with any concerns.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.903) out of 10 for Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Acton Park is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.953 for Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Acton Park is calculated as follows: ( (205 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 215 Ratings = 4.953
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Acton Park is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 number of registered child places is 6.2, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
