Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries is housed in a lovely character building set in the heart of the village. Previously a public house, The Chalfont Phoenix has been completely renovated from inside to outside and transformed into a fantastic nursery for local families. The nursery caters for around 65 children from babies through to school age and also offers a range of parenting classes for families attending and the wider community.

Hungry Caterpillar’s Chalfont’s on-site chef will be cooking nutritious meals for the children using locally sourced produce. Chalfont will also see the launch of ‘Caterpillar Parent Services’ which will enable busy working parents to use the nursery as a one-stop shop for emergency supplies, dry cleaning and local errands. The aim is to ensure local business’s benefit from the nursery and parent’s lives are made easier.

The nursery will run regular Forest School sessions for the children taking full advantage of their wonderful garden area and local green belt. Children will also have the opportunity to access weekly Yoga sessions, French classes and music sessions.

We are really pleased with the nursery, which our son has now been going to for over half a year. He settled in very quickly thanks to the lovely staff who take great care of the children. He has really developed since being there, which is probably down to all the activities and play they do every
day - never a dull moment it seems. We get updated daily on everything they have got up to / eaten / how they have slept etc, which I really appreciate. I would highly recommend this nursery to others.

Brilliant nursery. Cannot ask for a better care for my child. Outstanding staff and great effort. My son has been there since he was one and been moved to his last room now. Throughout his journey there has never been one instance that I could fault in the nursery.

Our daughter has adored being in "Toddlers" she's made friends, is confident and happy and I've never felt that she wasn't going to enjoy her day. Plus they were so supportive of her decision to use the potty (she decided herself over Christmas) and she loves being a big girl now.
Would recommend
them to anyone looking for a supportive and friendly place for their child.

This nursery holds a special place in our hearts, they've looked after both my children who started after their first birthday and left just before starting school. My kids have made some fantastic memories from their time there. The staff are caring, the food is made fresh (which they always ate!),
and they took part in many engaging activities over the years. They always rang to flag any issues so I was always kept up to date. Thank you for looking after both of my children and being their safe space for many years, we will miss the nursery dearly.

Both of our children started here in September and they have had a very loving and attentive transition. Our son in particular has received a lot of rewarding focus on the areas of development where he was lagging and we have seen vast improvements here and elsewhere. The staff are always receptive
to queries and the updates on the children's progress is regular and well documented. We are very happy with the setting and hope that both kids remain in their care for the entirety for their nursery journey.

All staff at the Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Chalfont St Peter are extremely helpful, caring and supportive. My son absolutely loves going to nursery and regularly talks about all the lovely staff that look after him.
Everyone from the management, teachers and kitchen staff are all so friendly
and welcoming.
I feel very grateful that my son is growing up in such a wonderful place. The nursery is always clean and tidy with lots of fun, educational and varied things going on.
Both my husband and I have been very happy with the service from the start (August 2024).

This is a great nursery. The staff are very friendly and genuinely care about the children. The staff really helped to settle our son into the nursery and continues to ensure he was happy. The management of the nursery is brilliant, which means the staff in each room can concentrate fully on the children.
The weekly topics are engaging, and the staff try to ensure the topics spark the children’s interest in new ways.

The nursery is really clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Personally, I like the place. Because of big and clean outside play area. Lots of learning toys. Kids become very independent.
The only issue is the car park. Nothings else. I highly recommend it.
