Clever Cats and Clever Kittens Next week in Preschool, we will be exploring the exciting topic of Uniformed Services. The children will be learning about the different roles people have within our community and how they help to keep us safe, healthy and supported every day. We will be talking about a variety of uniformed services and important jobs, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, doctors and many more.
We will also be practising what to do in an emergency and learning the importance of the emergency number “999”. Through role play and discussions, the children will begin to understand who they can ask for help and how emergency services support our community.
We are also very excitedly hoping to welcome a special visitor from the ambulance service to Preschool! This is currently a surprise for the children. As our visitor works within a real emergency service role, there is a possibility they may be called away to an emergency and may not be able to attend, but we are very hopeful they will be able to visit us.
Ladybirds Next week, we will be focusing on Uniformed Services and learning about people who help us in our community. Our book of the week is ‘Ambulance, Ambulance!’, which gives the children a fantastic insight into a day in the life of a paramedic in a fun and child-friendly way.
Throughout the week, we will be practising what to do in an emergency and learning who we might need to call for help. The children will also be working hard to remember the emergency number “999” through songs, role play and discussions.
We are also very excitedly hoping to welcome a special visitor from the ambulance service to the setting! This is currently a surprise for the children. As our visitor works in a real emergency service role, there is a chance they may be called away if an emergency happens and are unable to attend, but we are very hopeful they will be able to visit us.
Butterflies Next week the Butterflies will be exploring uniformed services such as police, ambulance and fire. We will be exploring sounds and colours we see from these services such as red, yellow and blue. We will also be going out on walks in the local community to look for some of the vehicles that are used by these services.
