Mara Nursery

All of the nursery staff and my little boy's key workers made me feel so relaxed when he was starting, they sent me pictures and kept me updated on how he was doing, and I instantly felt relaxed with him going! He absolutely loves it, talks about all of his key workers at home and runs in when he sees them! The garden space is really creative which I love and they have lots of messy play, which I know my little boy loves! His speaking is amazing compared to what it was when he first started and he can count really well, this definitely helped from the carpet time they do.

The staff are very approachable, knowledgeable, caring, friendly and professional. As parents, it has been easy to establish a rapport with the team and they are always willing to provide time to discuss concerns or provide extra support if required. The settling-in period for our children was long and challenging but the team handled it so smoothly and professionally and supported our children until they felt confident and comfortable at nursery. They display sound knowledge of our children's needs and will always strive to tailor plans/care to meet their needs. They are very responsive and have always supported us with our various requests. My children have always established a good relationship with their key workers and other staff members and their confidence has grown a lot and have come such a long way.

I had to take my child out of their care because they were not listening to my concerns. I should have read the reviews about the owner's approach to dealing with parents. She hears what she wants, and unfortunately, that behaviour filters down to her staff.

My experience has been deeply troubling, primarily due to management's inadequate response to parent concerns. I pulled my child out due to worries about their wellbeing. After months of back-and-forth, I found that children were not receiving the meals listed on the menu, with entire items missing. This explained why my child was coming home unusually hungry. Rather than taking responsibility for missing food and misinformation, management offered weak excuses. Staff members bought crackers themselves to supplement children's meals. Communication with management was difficult; they often dismissed concerns from parents. Their lack of accountability and slow response to pressing issues is disconcerting. Although there have been minor improvements around food, the pace of change remains unacceptably slow. Mara must make significant changes to ensure children's well-being. I cannot recommend this nursery to other parents.
