Welcome to Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery, Co-Founders Nola and Phillip set up this sensational nursery where imagination had no limits back in 2011.

Since then the nursery has expanded to 6 bespoke large rooms. The nursery is all about being the perfect home away from home, where your little one will excel with confidence, gain lifelong friendships and most importantly create happy memories daily.

The founders' goal has always been to create a stimulating, nurturing environment where your little one can grow and explore over their time with Hydra Tots, ultimately preparing them for all the wonderful challenges there are to come! Reach for the stars, there are no limits.

Hydra Tots encourages each child to be who they want to be, as well as how to be a kind, caring friend. The opportunities for your little one here at Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery are endless. They are a team of passionate and empowering women who aspire to provide the best education as well as an exciting childhood for each child who attends.

The nursery is passionate about helping children to develop their moral compass and encouraging them to become self-respecting, confident and social individuals. They believe that excellent nursery education helps very young learners to become stimulated and excited by the fun of learning through play, which supports a positive life-long attitude to learning and succeeding.

My little boy has been going since he was ten months old, he’s now three nearly four and absolutely loves it. I would so recommend this nursery to anyone, they are helpful, kind and my son has come on leaps and bounds. The girls that look after my son are amazing. My second born will be going this
September and I’m more than confident he will love it as much as my older boy. Thank you for everything you do for us.

Fantastic nursery and staff. Go above and beyond for the children. So nice that I have no issues at drop off, my daughter is so happy to toddle into nursery with no issues. She always comes out happy and smiley after a great day at nursery.

My little granddaughter has been so happy here. The staff are really fantastic, really professional but very caring. The facilities are second to none and the kids are kept busy all day. Her mum was nervous about ‘letting go’ but she hasn’t looked back since.

My daughter has attended Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery since October last year and she absolutely loves it as do I. The staff are all excellent and communication between the teachers and parents is always great. We get feedback on the day whenever I pick my daughter up. If there are any problems with

This nursery and pre-school is superb, from the caring and supporting staff to the management who I can only praise. Both my children have attended from being seven and nine months right through to preschool. They have grown, learnt and developed under the most amazing and talented staff who create
the most wonderful environment both indoors and outdoors for the children to share. The activities and learning opportunities are limitless here and everyday is a new experience for the children. I would highly recommend and feel thankful and grateful that my children have had such a wonderful start in life.

The team in the preschool room work very hard on a daily basis, finding fun and interesting ways to learn for all the children. My little boy enjoys going three days a week and is always excited to go. The team have helped grow his confidence, independence and are helping him get prepared for school.
All the ladies are all friendly and approachable and will readily help with any queries and help guide my little boy toward the next steps he needs to take. They have been so accommodating with not only my little boys allergies but also with day changes as and when I needed. I would not hesitate in recommending Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery to anyone. A brilliant nursery.

Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery is such a wonderful nursery. We have been more than pleased with the outstanding level of care, learning environment and above and beyond attention to detail in the support for our children that have attended Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery. All the staff are very polite

As I have a background of working with children in various settings, I found it extremely difficult to find the right nursery for my little one. We looked at a few but I didn't like them at all and could not see myself leaving my little one there, without worrying about things all day. From the moment
I stepped foot into Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery I was absolutely blown away. Unlike the settings I used to work in, there was plenty of space, it was bright, colourful and fun. Staff all seemed very friendly and happy in their place of work. So the deal was done and my little one has been at Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery since January 2019, it was the best decision ever. Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery has supported us a lot since my little one started and we can not thank them enough. Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery has become a big part of our family, almost like family. There aren't enough characters to give a full deserved picture. Only one thing left to say, you will not find a better nursery anywhere.

Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery has been a fabulous nursery for both of our children over the past three years and will continue to be in the next two to five years. My partner has been a nursery nurse in the early stages of her career and was extremely 'picky' when choosing a nursery, she was really
impressed from the first day we visited Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery and to this day, still is. The nursery is always clean, staff are always friendly and there isn't a day that we haven't been greeted with a smile! The range of food the children eat is great and I would say balanced, they eat things they don't at home and one of them is fish! The nursery recognised some early signs of autism and have been really supportive in identifying changes over the past year. The management team are pragmatic, fair and really do care when it comes to listening to your concerns and issues. We have recommended four of our friends to this nursery, with all their children either starting or moving in the past two years.

My daughter is 4 years old and has been attending the preschool at Hydra Tots for eight months, my only regret is that I didn't enrol her sooner. It has been such an easy transition for her, from being at home every day during lockdown to joining the preschool. I've never once felt rushed in a morning
or evening and I can't praise the staff enough, they have been absolutely amazing. I visited so many preschools in Sheffield before I decided on Hydra Tots but there was no competition after my first visit. None of the other preschools had such fantastic facilities and space as Hydra Tots does. All of the rooms are so big, bright, airy and clean which is what I was looking for and I was blown away by the different themes each of the rooms had, I'd never seen anything like it before. What makes Hydra Tots for us though is the staff. All of the staff are so caring and nurturing and the daily feedback is most welcome. I can't recommend Hydra Tots enough, we love everything about it.

Hydra Tots is a fantastic nursery and the staff, in particular, are what make it so great. Our daughter has attended since she was 4-months-old and is now in the final year. She has grown in confidence and has made lots of friends, and great connection with all staff from the teachers to managers to
the chefs. Our daughter learns something new every day; the kids get loads of fresh air and lots of different activities to stimulate them and help them develop. Hydra Tots has a lovely family feel to it and they actively encourage engagement and feedback from parents which is so important. Highly recommend this nursery.

Both my girls have attended Hydra Tots, with my youngest just moving up to the 3-year-olds room. I have always been delighted with the support, communication and care that has gone into caring for my children. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I have to say that recently the time and effort put into
helping my daughter settle in her new room has been outstanding. She is very happy in her new room and that is all down to the support and care she received from the staff. As a Mum it is brilliant to see how happy my child is at Hydra Tots, knowing that she’s learning, safe and having fun.
The quality of provision is outstanding and every aspect of the care is second to none. The quality of food is also very impressive, she never moans about being hungry and she has an extremely varied diet.
My husband and I could not be happier with our experiences with Hydra Tots and would highly recommend them to any prospective parents.

This is a wonderful nursery for children. I can’t say enough about it. They have lovely facilities such as a big soft play and outdoor areas, lovely fresh and clean classrooms and amazing staff. Every member of staff really gets to know your child and there is lots of help offered for your child’s growth
and development. They have so many opportunities for the children to learn with all the activities planned. They have lovely meals made for them and are cared for like family. A lovely routine is followed day to day which really fits into what we do at home. The staff who work here are just so lovely, intelligent, hard-working and very caring. It’s who anyone would want their children to be surrounded by when they can’t be at home with you. I chose to put my child in nursery because of all they had to offer, not for childcare. You are kept really up to date with what they have done all day as well as with their development and advice is always given if needed. My son beams when he goes!

Hi My name is Nola and I am one of the Directors here at Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery.


I have over 15 years experience qualified in childcare, I started my journey working with children within a school setting and I did this for just over 3 years.


I then set up my own business in childminding for 2 years.


Myself and my husband then set up this sensational nursery back in 2011 where the building was designed and developed giving us our bespoke 6000sq ft purpose built building where imagination has no limits. We found the ideal plot to purpose build and off we went. We now have a luxury, modern setting for our 96 children a day to learn, play and explore all day long.

Family is at the centre of all we do, myself and my Husband are directors here and on site, along with our daughter Maddison who is one of the managers we all work alongside each other here at Hydra Tots.


Our family is extended with our inspiring Early Years Educators who dedicate their time to being the absolute best they can be.


Since its original development the nursery has expanded to 6 bespoke large rooms with a large spacious indoor play area and a bespoke built indoor play centre all for our nursery children to explore.


From 2011 to present we have had Ofsted out to visit us on 3 occasions. Each of their visits we were awarded Ofsted OUTSTANDING status which we are incredibly proud of. we also hold Lux Life parent & baby award for Childcare Centre of the Year 2020 South Yorkshire, and came runners up for Best Independent Nursery with NMT awards.
