Welcome to Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery, Co-Founders Nola and Phillip set up this sensational nursery where imagination had no limits back in 2011.

Since then the nursery has expanded to 6 bespoke large rooms. The nursery is all about being the perfect home away from home, where your little one will excel with confidence, gain lifelong friendships and most importantly create happy memories daily.

The founders' goal has always been to create a stimulating, nurturing environment where your little one can grow and explore over their time with Hydra Tots, ultimately preparing them for all the wonderful challenges there are to come! Reach for the stars, there are no limits.

Hydra Tots encourages each child to be who they want to be, as well as how to be a kind, caring friend. The opportunities for your little one here at Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery are endless. They are a team of passionate and empowering women who aspire to provide the best education as well as an exciting childhood for each child who attends.

The nursery is passionate about helping children to develop their moral compass and encouraging them to become self-respecting, confident and social individuals. The nursery has supported my son in settling in beautifully. The staff are kind and caring and have been very good at updating me on how is he during the day. They will always take my calls should I need reassurance while at work and I can see my son is so happy and cared for there. The management went
above and beyond to ensure the timings and days for my son's care suited my work schedule and I was so grateful for that! It would be great to see the updates through an app so we can see picture updates throughout the day but that really is a small suggestion for what is a brilliant nursery! Thank you for all you do and what you provide!

Hydra Tots are caring, compassionate and the most wonderful practitioners to look after my little one. The handovers at the end of the day are high quality, informative and warm. My little boy is happy, safe and learning at a very fast speed, his progress since being at Hydra Tots has been phenomenal.
Rooms are well-resourced and reflect the interests of the children, and are regularly updated. The soft play on the ground floor is such an asset, my little boy loves going there daily and has developed his gross motor skills through exploration.

Ever since moving my little girl to Hydra Tots in June, I haven't had anything but great experiences with this nursery. Hydra Tots have really surpassed my nursery expectations. They definitely go above and beyond to make the children’s time there magical as well as educational.
A good example would be the festive period where there is so much going on for the little ones including meeting Santa and his (real!) reindeer.
The staff are always happy and easy to talk to and give great feedback at each handover too.
I particularly like the set up of the nursery with wonderful displays and lots of things to spark interest and imagination, not to mention the fact they have their own indoor soft play area.

I cannot recommend the staff and nursery enough! I was so nervous in the beginning of letting go and I was crying when dropping off, meanwhile, my son was off having the best time of his life! Going back to work has been challenging for me but I never have to worry about him because I know he's having
the best day with his friends and is in the best care. As the nursery is family run, they truly understand different circumstances and situations and the support they've provided to not just my son but myself also has been amazing, the staff are all absolute angels and I sincerely can't thank them enough! They've gone out of their way to provide support and advice to me and it's made such a huge difference. The rooms and activities are all exciting and encouraging and my son has come on leaps and bounds since he started. I especially love the pictures and paintings he comes home with. Thank you so much for everything you'll never know how much it means to us!

What a fantastic nursery. I told the nursery at the point my little boy joined that he was been assessed for autism. And that he has major communication difficulties and is nonverbal. I wasn't sure if they'd be able to meet his needs but I made sure from the beginning I explained all this, they have
gone above and beyond for him! They've adapted his hours to suit his needs with later drop-offs/early pick-ups. Adapted his play to things that interest him as well as various other things. The main thing being that they have helped me massively with filling out Disability Living Allowance forms and his Education, Health and Care Plan process which is in progress currently. The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator is an absolute godsend and I cannot sing her praises enough! I always looked on reviews at nurseries to see if they were any other parents with Special Educational Needs kids to see how the nursery would manage with that and although every child is different they go above and beyond! This nursery has 5 star everywhere for a reason, fabulous!

My little girl has been coming to Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery for a good few years now. It's one of the best nurseries around, my little girl absolutely loves going, all the staff are absolutely amazing. I know all the girls and they know my daughter's name, even though she's in a different class
to some of them. There is fresh cooked food on site every day and it changes week by week which is brilliant because we have problems at home with eating but I know she's had a good solid healthy meal and snacks with all her friends, when she attends. Can't thank the girls here enough for all their support and hard work they put in day by day to make sure all the children are happy and looked after. Wouldn't go anywhere else. You all do a brilliant job.

The best setting I could have wished for. She's so nervous and a fussy eater. Three weeks in and no tears on arrival and also trying new foods. Her teachers are so thoughtful and have worked hard with magic tips and tricks that have got her socialising and eating! They are also a huge support to me
as a parent. I really value their advice. Management are so helpful and the kitchen/cleaning staff are also lovely. Everyone has been invested in this plan to get her to eat. They take the time to get to know our children and it's such a beautiful learning environment. An amazing team. Thank you.

This is an absolutely fantastic nursery! My son loves going and is excited to see the staff and his classmates, the staff have created such a lovely caring environment and you can see how much all the children enjoy being there! It can be hard being a parent going back to work, worrying about your little
one, but I never worry knowing that my child is in the best care and having an amazing day. It is not just about the child either - because the nursery is family run, there is care and support for the parents too. They go out of their way to answer questions and provide advice, I feel really involved which makes a massive difference. I would recommend this nursery to absolutely anyone!

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. The staff are all amazing and fantastic at what they do. My little boy started here when he was 8 months old, he was born 3 months premature and so was still tiny and wary of new people. This couldn't be further away from what he's like now after being at Hydra
Tots a few months already, he has completely come out of his shell being at nursery and development wise, I couldn't have wished for any better, he is doing absolutely amazing. There is constant fun and learning keeping all the children constantly entertained with different themes every month. I'll definitely miss them when he goes to school in a few years as I know he will too!

I can't thank Hydra Tots enough! After having bad experiences with a nursery and childminder I was extremely nervous about leaving my child again with a stranger. From the moment I enquired it has been nothing short of perfect! Communication is wonderful. I can't explain how amazing the staff are. Their
level of professionalism is extremely high! You can tell they love their job and practice high levels of care. My little boy loves going to Hydra Tots and is upset when he leaves at the end of the day. The nursery is very clean and they have an array of exciting learning apparatus. Nothing is too much trouble for each and every one of the staff. They all take part in caring for the children. I have observed other teachers from the other departments treating children just as equally as if they were part of their classroom. They go above and beyond to ensure my child doesn't miss out on opportunities due to his dairy intolerance. There is always hugs and smiles available. Thank god for Hydra Tots.

We looked round a lot of nurseries in the area and nothing compared to this one! Professional, very knowledgeable and did a thorough walk around the whole nursery and showed what each room consists of and what each child can expect to do, day to day. We weren't rushed at all and were made to feel very
comfortable and welcome. The rooms will make you smile and the middle area with the soft play is an amazing add on which definitely is an added bonus knowing you can send your child to nursery and they will not only learn, but they will be very happy playing too. I feel extremely confident when I leave my child here that he's in the best and safest hands!

Both of our daughters started doing 3 days a week at Hydra Tots when they were about a year old and are now 18 months and 4.5 years. We have been so impressed with the caring nature of the staff, their relationships with the children and the communication at the end of the day. The rooms are bright
and inviting, activities are varied and both our girls have made good friends. They go in with a smile on their face and come out full of chatter about what they have done! It’s really brought them on socially and helped to prepare my eldest well for school. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Can't recommend this nursery highly enough. Our daughter started in the baby room when she was twelve months old. She's currently twenty eight months and in the two to three year room and loving it! She is developing brilliantly and I'm sure that the incredible care and attention of the staff at the
nursery has played a huge part in this. The nursery staff are exceptional, very friendly and attentive. There are brilliant indoor and outdoor facilities, the indoor soft play is fabulous. There are always new themes that the children learn about and plenty of opportunity for creativity and crafts.

Hi My name is Nola and I am one of the Directors here at Hydra Tots Private Day Nursery.


I have over 15 years experience qualified in childcare, I started my journey working with children within a school setting and I did this for just over 3 years.


I then set up my own business in childminding for 2 years.


Myself and my husband then set up this sensational nursery back in 2011 where the building was designed and developed giving us our bespoke 6000sq ft purpose built building where imagination has no limits. We found the ideal plot to purpose build and off we went. We now have a luxury, modern setting for our 96 children a day to learn, play and explore all day long.

Family is at the centre of all we do, myself and my Husband are directors here and on site, along with our daughter Maddison who is one of the managers we all work alongside each other here at Hydra Tots.


Our family is extended with our inspiring Early Years Educators who dedicate their time to being the absolute best they can be.


Since its original development the nursery has expanded to 6 bespoke large rooms with a large spacious indoor play area and a bespoke built indoor play centre all for our nursery children to explore.


From 2011 to present we have had Ofsted out to visit us on 3 occasions. Each of their visits we were awarded Ofsted OUTSTANDING status which we are incredibly proud of. we also hold Lux Life parent & baby award for Childcare Centre of the Year 2020 South Yorkshire, and came runners up for Best Independent Nursery with NMT awards.


Our nursery is all about being the perfect home away from home, where your little ones will excel with confidence, gain lifelong friendships and most importantly create happy memories daily. Our goal has always been to create a stimulating, nurturing environment where your little ones can grow and explore over their time with us, ultimately preparing them for all the wonderful challenges there are to come!
