Nursery on the Green is a converted building in the Village of Redbourn.

Much of the character of the building has been retained to provide spacious and interesting rooms for the children on the ground floor.

All children have daily access to the fantastic secure and enclosed garden as the nursery fully recognises the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development.

The nursery provides a happy, social environment where every child is treated as an individual. Children’s days are packed full of activities designed in line with EYFS principles and implemented by highly trained and knowledgeable staff.

They offer an fully inclusive service that includes formula milk, nappies, nappy cream, baby wipes, sun cream and freshly prepared, well-balanced meals throughout the day and all activities.

Located close to St Albans and Hemel Hempstead with excellent transport links nearby and easy access to the M1.

Our experience at Nursery on the Green, Redbourn has been wonderful. All of the staff are just so friendly, everyone always says hello with genuine smiles on their faces, they know who you are and your child well very quickly. Our daughter (2.5 years) settled in within a fortnight and has been confident,
bubbly and always happy at drop-off and pick-up. The facilities are fabulous, in comparison to the long list of nurseries we visited this was by far the biggest! So light and airy with so much variety of levels and play areas. The staff clearly care about there being varied activities for the kids on a daily basis too. The garden is massive, are daughter loves being outside so this was a big draw and she was out there daily getting fresh air. Our daughter's speech really came on here too and she came back singing lots of new songs which was very cute. The kids always seem loud, happy and themselves, which I think is a testament to a great nursery! We always get thorough daily feedback too. 5*

Nursery on the Green has been wonderful for our two-year-old son, we relocated from overseas last minute and moved to a new area, the staff at the Nursery on the Green have been so kind and caring and have really worked hard to support the development of our son. As a parent, I’ve had a really positive
experience and would highly recommend it.

Nursery on the Green is like a little family! We sent our elder child to a different nursery and so have a base to compare with and I can say that it's a different kettle of fish!
The staff are so lovely and warm. When you walk in to pick up/collect your child, each and every one of them will say hello
to both the parent but more importantly my little one, no matter the room you are in. It's such a lovely way to start and end the day. It's a really bespoke service for your child. They will take your steer as a parent as to what they are/aren't ready for, of course providing their professional insight and experience. The biggest tell for me is how happy my son is when I drop him off and pick him up - he's never cried and he absolutely loves it. Sometimes he doesn't even want to come home! A special mention to our current key worker who is so caring and amazing with all kids! We couldn't be happier to have our son at the nursery, we'd recommend it to anyone!

My little boy loves nursery. He's always so happy and excited to go in and often speaks about different staff members at home and what he's been up to.
I'm so happy with his progress in his development; he's always learning something new with all the great activities that they do with the children!
The nursery is also really accommodating whenever I've asked for any changes to my little boys' routine or if I have any questions.

This nursery is amazing! All of its staff always go above and beyond to look after the children and make their days as exciting and educational as possible. I am so glad I picked this nursery for my son.
The nursery also updates you daily through an app with what your child has eaten, their sleep
schedule, activities they have done and lots of pictures too. There are also regular learning stories which tell you what your child has learnt this month. I cannot fault this nursery, it is fantastic!

Our little boy has been with the Nursery on the Green team for just over a year now and we can not be more than happier with the team and the way they care for him. It is really hard for myself and my wife to leave him to go to work but he is always more than happy to go in, especially when he sees
certain team members and his friends. He has made some lovely friendships and his communication and language skills have come on leaps and bounds since being with the team. Nursery on the Green is extremely friendly and approachable but also supportive and understanding where our son's needs and development are concerned.

Love this nursery. The staff always go that extra mile to make my life easier when working. They think of everything. Just supply spare clothes!
They have helped me transition back into work with ease. The flexible drop-off and pick-up times are amazing and my children have both loved it!
They do
a variety of activities for the children and they have both formed some long-lasting friendships.
When the children have accidents, I am kept well informed and they are fully investigated and they care for my children as I would.

We could not be happier with Nursery on the Green, since deciding to send our daughter there eight months ago! The learning and development programme is structured and varied, with plenty of opportunities for children to explore both indoor and outdoor activities. Updates via the app are incredibly
detailed and consistent throughout the day, with additional monthly progress reports and even parent's evening! The menu is enviable, healthy and varied. The staff are always friendly and make an effort to really get to know children and parents throughout the nursery - not just in the specific room - which provides a real community feeling.

The Nursery on the Green is a huge improvement on the previous nursery that used to be based in the same premises. The refurbishment both inside and out has improved the facilities beyond recognition. Investing in more equipment means there is plenty to engage and challenge the children and although
our daughter gravitates towards certain activities, there is plenty of to keep her entertained and help with her learning as she prepares for school. She has also developed friendships and her social skills have come on leaps and bounds because she has plenty of interaction with other children and adults at nursery. If there is one area for improvement, we sometimes felt communication over staffing changes could have been better at times but, generally, the communication and weekly newsletter keeps us well informed and staff have always been very helpful when asked. We know our daughter will miss the nursery when she moves on but it has given her a great grounding for the next step.

Our girls have been at the nursery for a year and a half, after switching from another nursery. The team is so friendly and really approachable. You can tell they are passionate, invested and take pride in the work they do with the kids. Parents are always welcomed in the space at pick up and drop off.
The team really takes time to talk with parents. They go above and beyond to make the children feel at home. The facilities are pretty amazing too everything the kids need, a dedicated art room and loads of space to play. Love the access to the garden for the older children. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Our two children are thriving in this nursery, thanks to the staff being so lovely and caring. We simply never worry when our children are in nursery as we know they are happy there and very well looked after by the amazing staff. The nursery has a nice outside space, where the kids can play and explore
and the inside is as lovely, with plenty of wooden toys, dens and snuggle areas where the children can have some quiet time, chat or listen to stories. The management is great as well and we always get prompt replies to any of our queries. Highly recommended!

Our daughter is always happy to go to nursery every morning. She has a great time when she is there three days a week, and we feel confident knowing that she is being well taken care of, and in safe and capable hands. We will send our son to the same nursery when is he a little older.

We transferred our son from a different nursery due to work commitments. We were slightly concerned about the move but we really didn't need to be. Over the last 8 months, our son has thrived in the positive and nurturing environment provided by the team at Nursery on the Green. They have a real interest
and knowledge of our son and his likes/dislikes and actively look for opportunities to engage, stretch and challenge him. The outside space is his favourite place to be. Communication has always been excellent and professional. We could not be happier with the level of care provided.

My child has settled quickly into Nursery on the Green, he goes off in the morning easily and happily and that’s the main thing for me knowing that he enjoys it there. The staff in his room have been amazing settling him in, they work so hard and really get to know your child and their needs. The nursery
itself has lots of facilities and areas for the children to play and explore, with some great activities. It’s set out modern and clean with a homely feel. The updates on the app throughout the day is great, it’s nice to have information on what their upto. Management and all the team are always welcoming, helpful and respond so promptly to any queries. We are really happy to have our son attend here.

My two boys have been attending Nursery on the Green for 6 months and we have been so happy with our experience. The facilities are so beautiful and no doubt support the children in their learning and development, as well as the various activities created for the children. My older son was very quiet
to start with (he is not at home) and the team spent time with him making sure he felt comfortable and finding ways to help him settle. I am now assured he is very loud! I was worried about my youngest settling as he started during the pandemic but he absolutely loves it. This is no doubt down to the wonderful staff at the nursery who are all so lovely and wonderful. We live in Harpenden and whilst there are plenty of nurseries here, we are happy with the longer journey for our boys to enjoy such a special place.

My daughter started at the nursery in September 2020 and it has been fantastic for her social and developmental skills over the tricky lockdown period. Absolutely the best nursery, from their activities to feeding. It feels brand new when you walk in, it’s so clean and fresh. They do so many different activities, my little one often comes home with things he’s made and I can see by the up to date photos that he’s having the best time! I especially
love their outdoor space. The staff are all so friendly and professional, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. I had so much anxiety and they ensured me that my baby would remain safe and happy. They are always willing to help and accommodate all my needs. I’ve never seen a child come out unhappy and always recommend this nursery to parents and I’m so proud of how my child is excelling, with his speech, walking, recognising colours and shapes.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Carli is Manager of Nursery on the Green in Redbourn and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 27 years. Carli is married with two boys and spends her weekends pitchside watching them play football.


Carli has spent the past 16 years in a managerial position at Childbase and looks forward to implementing her knowledge and skills at the newly-opened Nursery on the Green, as well as building strong partnerships with parents and the local community.
