Nursery on the Green is a converted building in the Village of Redbourn.

Much of the character of the building has been retained to provide spacious and interesting rooms for the children on the ground floor.

All children have daily access to the fantastic secure and enclosed garden as the nursery fully recognises the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development.

The nursery provides a happy, social environment where every child is treated as an individual. Children’s days are packed full of activities designed in line with EYFS principles and implemented by highly trained and knowledgeable staff.

They offer an fully inclusive service that includes formula milk, nappies, nappy cream, baby wipes, sun cream and freshly prepared, well-balanced meals throughout the day and all activities.

Located close to St Albans and Hemel Hempstead with excellent transport links nearby and easy access to the M1.

Our son was two months old when we went into lockdown for the first time in 2020 and as such, it's been a very strange first year for him and us as first time parents. We spent every day together in 2020 which was amazingly special but also with many classes being cancelled and the opportunity to see
our friends and their children not really possible, we really hoped nursery would be a great help. However, I was nervous as to how our son would settle in as it would be such a sudden change to being without us and finding out that there are other places and people in the world! We have been so happy to see our son settle in so quickly and to enjoy going to nursery, meeting and playing with other children and forming bonds with the adults and children alike. The staff have been incredibly understanding of what a big change it was for me particularly and have provided me with all the feedback, photos and videos which has really helped. I love the parent app as it means I am in touch too.

We could not be happier with the nursery! The staff are super kind and are genuinely delighted to get to spend the day with our child. We get great reports of fun and interesting things our child did during the day and communication in general is great. We moved to the area during the pandemic and the
nursery supported us throughout settling in and learning how to navigate these uncertain times. Communication on this has been great too. The nursery itself is gorgeous, with big bright spaces and lots of different activities to capture children’s imagination. Our toddler waves goodbye and walks in super happy every morning, it can’t get better than that! I feel very grateful to have found that peace of mind for our family, knowing our child is learning in a safe and happy environment.

A beautiful nursery, with amazing staff who’ve helped my little boy settle in so well.
The staff can’t do enough, they are so helpful and caring. Right from the settling in session, they went above and beyond - from ensuring they ordered in advance my son's specific formula milk, to the daily interactions
and sharing updates on the Parent Zone app. After a month of settling in, I now have a very happy toddler going in! He loves his key worker and all the lovely team that look after him!
The place is beautifully laid out, from the toys to the garden and play area, it’s wonderfully designed and you can see how happy the kids are playing there!
Can’t praise them or the setting enough.
One small downside... parking! The car park is small but that really is clutching at straws!

We've been so impressed with the facilities, the staff and the care at Nursery on the Green in Redbourn. It's was strange for him to start a new nursery during the pandemic when we were unable to go into nursery with him, but the staff were so brilliant at making sure he was happy and making sure we
as parents knew how he was doing. He absolutely loves it there - always happy to go in in the morning and always happily exhausted at the end of the day. I would confidently recommend the nursery to anyone.
We're currently in the process of moving house (and counties) and I have to say, finding my son a new nursery that I'm as happy and confident in will be tricky - Nursery on the Green is a tough act to follow!

Nursery on the Green is a wonderful place to send your children. The nursery has absolutely amazing facilities to offer to little ones. My son, who has been attending the nursery since the beginning of the year absolutely loves every area of the nursery from its spacious garden and play "road" to its
fully functioning kitchen. You would be totally blown away by the whole environment and it must be an extremely magical place for children to play, socialise and learn. Another reason to recommend this nursery is the staff. From the moment I enquired about a potential place for my son right through to now, they have all been welcoming and supportive. My son bonded to them immediately. They are extremely kind and patient and nothing is too much trouble. They are always on hand to answer any questions and are always willing to help with any issues your child may have.

My son settled into Nursery on the Green so quickly. The staff are friendly and always very welcoming. The care he gets during his days there is amazing.
The facilities are wonderful, the rooms are beautifully decorated. My son loves the garden and the woodwork room.

My son started at nursery when he was fairly young; at 10 months he settled in very quickly and has always loved the staff. Now, at 14 months, he is delighted when we drop him off and comes home happy and tired! The staff are wonderful and communicate brilliantly with parents. The combination of their
cheerful chat at pick up and the information I get through the Parent Zone app makes me feel really well informed about my son’s day. The facilities here are second to none and I hope my son can stay until he’s ready for school!

We looked for ages for a setting that matched our values as closely as possible and we were delighted to find Nursery on The Green. From our first visit, we loved the space, the intuitive way things have been laid out to foster their development and the feel we got from the amazing manager. We have
not been disappointed at all, every member of the team has been lovely and we can tell they genuinely care about the children in their care. Our key person is exceptional and made us feel comfortable from the start. Our son has settled well and runs in at the start of the day now, lovely place and people, we feel confident that we are leaving our child in the best possible environment.

My two and a half-year-old started at this nursery after lockdown (previously at another nursery before) so it was a bit different not being able to go in with her especially for her settling sessions but the staff were amazing and so welcoming and friendly, she settled extremely quickly. We were so
impressed by the space, activities available and garden area having attended this nursery under previous management. It is newly refurbished and looks amazing. I love getting updates on the ParentZone app on how she is getting along during the day. The staff have shared lots of insights into her activities while at nursery and her development. Recently after the birth of my second child, they supported her during her first day after the birth and made a fuss of her being a big sister. We were able to share photos and put notes via the app so she was getting consistent messages of support from all her caregivers. Our experience with the nursery and staff has been brilliant, 100% recommend.

My 2 year old settled immediately and comes home every day chatting about all the wonderful things he’s done at nursery. All the staff are really friendly and the facilities are fantastic.

I’m extremely happy with our son’s new nursery. The staff have been superb and evidently, motivation is high on account of both the obvious investment from the new ownership and the excellent leadership of the new manager. We were happy when our daughter attended the nursery school under previous ownership
and things have just moved to another level. Very friendly, great facilities and although a big company owner, the nursery still has a family feel. We love it so does our son!

I can’t say enough how wonderful an environment this nursery is. Having been at 2 previous nurseries and viewed many, none come close to the facilities and setting that Nursery on the Green offers my child. The pictures I receive on the observations show such happy children, and it’s not surprising
when they have so much space to play. A beautifully renovated nursery, with welcoming and warm staff that have settled my little one in so quickly. Couldn’t recommend this nursery more.

We placed my niece, 4 and nephew, 3 at the nursery on a short-term placement as they were visiting from abroad for a month. This is an amazing nursery in many ways. The facilities are world-class, wooden toys, proper painting equipment etc and the space very very good both inside and out. Most importantly
all of the employees were brilliant and showed that they genuinely cared for the children. Both children were always excited to go and were full of happiness when we picked them up.


I cannot recommend this nursery enough and we are all very sad that we could not be there for longer.

Our son is nearly three years old and started here the week it opened.
My husband and I were so impressed with the state of the art facilities. From the fully functional mini kitchen with a real oven, to the wood workshop with real tools! The outdoor space also has a treehouse, music corner and mud
kitchen!
The staff here are so friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble, and they always have time to discuss your concerns or questions during drop-off and collection.
I am very confident that they meet my son's needs because they have clearly taken the time to get to know him on a personal level and interact with him.
My son always speaks so very fondly of the staff and is always so excited to go in, he barely glances back at me at the door.
My son has already started to show signs of development through the songs and the dances he has learned during his time there. I’ve yet to review any formal or baseline assessments with the staff, but I’m confident.

We are very pleased to highly recommend this Nursery on the Green (Redbourn) to future parents as an all-round excellent childcare provider.
The nursery has had an amazing makeover and looks so inviting. The outdoor space is great and means our child gets to go out every day, in all weather (there
is an undercover area and they have rain suits). Our child has a smile on her face each morning when she arrives, and sometimes doesn't want to leave. She seems to be picking up lots of tricks, recognising words, objects and songs. The staff have been amazing helping her settle in and are really flexible to meet her needs.
We are very happy with the information we are provided with each session, the care and safety provided.

A wonderful nursery with caring and attentive staff. I was very nervous about sending my 18-month-old to nursery but I thought it would be good for him a few mornings a week after such isolation in lockdown not interacting with other children for so long.
The staff have been amazing and put my nerves
at ease as my child is absolutely loving his time there!! The facilities are outstanding and it is such a beautiful place to be. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this nursery!

Carli Toal

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2005

Carli is Manager of Nursery on the Green in Redbourn and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 27 years. Carli is married with two boys and spends her weekends pitchside watching them play football.


Carli has spent the past 16 years in a managerial position at Childbase and looks forward to implementing her knowledge and skills at the newly-opened Nursery on the Green, as well as building strong partnerships with parents and the local community.
