My son started at Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School when he was one years old. He absolutely loves it! The staff are so lovely and greet you at the door with a smile every day. Having been for a few months, he now runs in without looking back, showing just how comfortable and happy he is there. Back office reply to emails really quickly. I recommend this nursery to everyone. Couldn’t be happier with them.

Our son has very complex needs and requires care at all times. We were anxious parents at first but he has adapted well. He started in the poppy room and is now in bluebells. The transition was smooth, his key workers stayed the same to ensure routine and full training. The special education needs coordinator staff are helpful to any of our needs, the staff are friendly, caring and strive to give a one hundred percent fun filled day, in a safe environment. Cannot praise this nursery more, they have been superb with our special boy. It will be a sad day when it's time to head off to big boy school. We thank each and every member of staff for their continued love and support they've given us all. Making memories through play!

My daughter starting going to Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School in July 2020 at thirteen months old. She took a little while to settle as being through over six months of a pandemic she hadn’t interacted with many other people. The staff at Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School were so understanding and everything was done gradually to help her to feel comfortable. Fast forward six months and she cannot get through the doors fast enough! She absolutely loves it and talks about the ladies she has in her room all the time at home. She has also learnt so much since going there and her confidence has grown hugely! Feel very happy to drop her off and leave her for the day. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School.

Staff are truly amazing, loving and caring. My child started when he was 12 months and he’s been enjoying every single day so far! When my son gets dropped off in the morning he greets staff with a big smile which is a great indicator of how relaxed and happy he feels under their care. Facilities and activities are great and stimulate progress which is visible every single day! I highly recommend this nursery.

Amazing nursery! The staff are just wonderful. The ladies in the office are fantastic and always accommodate any changes. My son adores the ladies who look after him and he loves coming here. They are a fantastic team and I am so glad that my son goes here. They keep you updated with what’s been going on which is great. My son started when he was nine months old so I was worried he would struggle but he loves it! I will recommend to anyone and and I am so happy my son attends this nursery.

My daughter started when she was nine months old and being born in lockdown, I was really worried that she would struggle to settle as she had not been round strangers before. I however had nothing to worry about, the staff were all so lovely and my daughter absolutely loves it. I can honestly drop her off and know she is in the best hands. Happy to recommend.

I have worked in early years for 30 years, spending the last 15 years as a nursery manager.

I am passionate about empowering children to become autonomous and resilient, and ready for the next stage of their learning. I support and encourage children to become independent, think for themselves and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.

I am passionate about making a difference to our children and families and do this by reflecting, evaluating, and adapting practice.

Vicky Stubbings Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager & Designated Safeguarding Lead Joined: 2023
Vicky Stubbings

I joined Kamelia Kids in January 2023 and have worked in the early years for over 10 years. During this time, I have gained many skills through experience and training, and I continually pass on my knowledge to my colleagues to enhance their knowledge to be the best they can be.

What I love most about my profession is being a positive role model to children, supporting them to use their own imagination to be creative, and listening to their wonderful ideas. I love creating a nurturing environment that encourages them to explore through play and learn through their own experiences to reach their full potential.

Jude Waterhouse Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager & Designated Safeguarding Lead Joined: 2025
Jude Waterhouse

I have worked in early years education since 2007 and am currently one of the Deputy Managers at Kamelia Kids, where I began in July 2025. I hold Level 3 qualifications in Early Years Education, Special Educational Needs Coordination, and Forest School Leadership.

Throughout my career, I’ve gained experience in eight different settings, each shaped by its own unique educational ethos — including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and other child-led, holistic approaches. These experiences have helped shape my flexible and reflective practice.

With several years of leadership and management experience, I am passionate about empowering children and their families, supporting staff development, and creating inspiring learning environments. I am a strong advocate for outdoor learning, the child’s voice, and practices that nurture confidence, independence, and curiosity in every child.

I also have a keen interest in mental health and trauma-informed practice, and I strive to embed these principles into everyday practice to support children’s emotional well-being and resilience.

Emma Swain

I am an Early Years Teacher with a deep passion for working with young children, a journey I have been on since 2007. Since joining Kamelia Kids in early 2022, I have continued to be inspired every day by the wonder and excitement in the children’s eyes when they learn something new. Their curiosity, engagement, and joy in exploration never cease to amaze me and remind me why I love this work so much.

I joined Kamelia Kids in March 2026 and have over 17 years of experience working in childcare. I have worked in 4 nurseries where I have learnt a lot of skills and have developed my knowledge. I also have 8 years of experience working as a nanny.

My skills have evolved over the years, caring for and educating children from 8 weeks old to their teen years. I come from a huge family and have loved growing up with younger children and extended family.

It has been my passion for as long as I can remember to support children in their development, watching them progress and achieve their interests and skills.

Alicia Charlesworth Job Title: Room Manager Joined: 2019

I began working at Kamelia Kids in October 2019 as a Relief Educator. Since then, I have completed my Level 3 Apprenticeship and progressed to my current role as Lead Educator in the Poppy Room (Toddlers). I am now studying towards my Level 5 qualification to continue developing my skills and knowledge in early years education. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working with both toddlers and preschool-aged children. I’m passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, supporting each child’s learning and development. I particularly enjoy engaging the children through storytelling, conversation, and outdoor play in the garden.

I have been working in childcare/early years for over 20 years. I love to watch how children grow and develop through play. This fosters the development of language, socialisation, and creativity. This is all in readiness for the next stage of their development as they transition to school. Being part of this next stage of their development is extremely rewarding.
