My daughter started at Kamelia Kids when she turned two. She can be quite shy, so we really appreciated being offered extra settling-in sessions, which helped her feel comfortable in the new environment.
Fast forward two years, and she absolutely loves it. She comes home counting to 10 in Spanish, with
pockets full of shells from beach trips, and excitedly tells me about helping with cooking and playing on the garden slide.
The staff are warm and friendly, and we always get a lovely summary of her day at pick-up, which is reassuring as a parent. I think it would be great to see more photos of the children's activities and adventures.
Overall, we're very happy with the nursery. Our youngest is due to start soon as well.

My eldest attended here and now my youngest, they went above and beyond for myself and my youngest and I thought it was just luck , but they have done exactly the same for my youngest , always picking up on things and supporting me as well as my children . Nothing ever seems to much for them to help
with!
My children never separated from me very well but both have run into the nursery with beaming smiles.
Not only is my child happy here but I am, I know my child is safe and very well looked after ,
My eldest has even asked to go back to Kamiella instead of school haha!

It's a brilliant and nurturing nursery
There extremely inclusive which is what I love!

Reply from Jade Cobden, Charity Communications Officer at Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach SchoolThank you so much for your kind words and for trusting us with both of your children-it really means a lot to us.

We're delighted to hear they've both been so happy here and that you feel supported too. Your lovely feedback, especially about their big smiles (and wanting to come back!), truly makes our day.

My son struggles to leave me in the mornings and his team at Kamelia are amazing. They try their best to encourage him in and I always feel heard completely when I speak with them. I appreciate their efforts and the fact they really do care. When it's been a particularly bad morning for us at home,
they are always checking that I'm okay as well as my son, which for me, shows they are an absolute grade above the rest.
There are frequent trips, a brilliant SENCO team and the admin are also fab. I couldn't fault any of the team's they have.
Thank you Kamelia!

The team at Kamelia Kids Nursery have been amazing with my daughter from 13 months old right up until she started school in September. My daughter is coeliac, which is a tough condition to manage & they have been so accommodating & inclusive of her, so she never feels left out.
My daughter loves the
garden & outdoor space, so every day is different. She has thrived here & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kamelia Kids!

My daughter has attended Kamelia Kids Nursery since she was 8 months old to now being 4 years old. I have had a very pleasurable experience throughout every class she has been in. Staff have always been very involving and kept us up to date with any activities my daughter has taken part in, what friendships
she has made, areas where they have tried to help improve such as her confidence. I would happily bring any other children I have back to Kamelia Kids.

My children have attended KK for the last 4 years, from the baby room up to (almost!) graduating from preschool. We have had nothing other than an exceptional experience thanks to their kindness, passion and professionalism. My children are truly treated like family and they are incredibly happy going
in every day. The kids learn Spanish, their facilities are excellent, they spend lots of time outside, and my daughter loves the day trips. My kids have somewhat unusual medical needs and have been shown the very highest level of care, with the nursery having made adaptions and given staff training to help the day-to-day experience for both of them. I cannot recommend KK more for children with medical or senco needs. They've been a huge support for myself and my husband through the last few years, i.e. calling us daily for updates on our children when they have been hospitalised and being a shoulder for me to cry on at times. You won't regret choosing KK, it was the best decision we made

I cannot praise Kamelia Kids enough for the care they provide for my daughter. Two particular staff members are brilliant SEN support and have advocated brilliantly for my daughter. The staff have been brilliant over the last nearly 3 years my daughter has attended across her toddler and preschool years.
Kamelia Kids have supported me through some really difficult challenges with my daughter on her road to an Autism diagnosis. The staff are great with the kids have a genuine interest in ensuring the kids are happy and healthy. I'll be so sad to say goodbye in September when my daughter starts school!

Kamelia Kids Day Nursery has been really helpful in my son's development. I am a proud mum because of their help ensuring that l have peace of mind as l go to work. They have offered more help in getting him ready for school in September. My son was very shy and quite when he started, they have groomed
him to be a confident boy. He's now a chatter box as his speech has improved. Thank you Management and staff for your continued support.

We love Kamelia Kids. The staff are super friendly and helpful and my daughter has thrived since being there. The consistency of staff is appreciated and grateful for the support and advice for issues both at nursery and home. They have gone out of their way to help our daughter, prioritising her wellbeing
and limiting change around the time her sibling was born by accommodating her in her new room early- taking a weight off us!

My daughter has been attending Kamelia Kids since April 2023. I was drawn to the nursery as a not-for-profit charity with compassion and motivation for the best interests of all the children. The staff are incredible, genuinely showing an interest in our daughter, her interests and developments as well
and you can see the genuine connection she has with so many. We have valued and found each handover to be supportive, informative and authentic. The admin is always responsive and has always tried to accommodate where possible requests when needed to change days or add ad hoc days. Thank you for making the nursery a supportive and comfortable transition and experience.

We chose Kamelia Kids for our nursery because from the moment we stepped through the door on an open day, we were welcomed with a bright and open space, friendly staff, plenty of engagement for our child and generous outside areas suitable for each age group. Since attending, it’s only cemented our
first impression as we’ve found our child learning new skills and greatly increasing their confidence.

Really happy we found this nursery!
The staff is lovely and really cares for the kids. Our son learns a lot there and the staff always makes time to tell us about his day. They know the kids well and help them through their different phases (terrible 2s, etc).
The kids also have the option of spending
a lot of time outside if they choose to.

Fantastic nursery and really amazing staff! Our little boy started going at the age of 9 months and has since graduated from Daisies and moved up to Poppies. The staff are all exceptional; they seem to know him very well, pay attention to what we say at handover, and just seem to have a lot of fun together.
The admin side of things is also great; there have been occasions where I have needed ad-hoc care or changed the days we put him in, and if possible, it's always accommodated. I feel very happy and confident about our choice and can wholeheartedly recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.384)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.384) out of 10 for Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.880 for Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is calculated as follows: ( (147 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 4.88
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.504 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 107 number of registered child places is 21.4. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.4 = 0.654
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Since joining Kamelia Kids in early 2022, I have continued to be inspired every day by the wonder and excitement in the children’s eyes when they learn something new. Their curiosity, engagement, and joy in exploration never cease to amaze me and remind me why I love this work so much.

I joined Kamelia Kids in March 2026 and have over 17 years of experience working in childcare. I have worked in 4 nurseries where I have learnt a lot of skills and have developed my knowledge. I also have 8 years of experience working as a nanny.

My skills have evolved over the years, caring for and educating children from 8 weeks old to their teen years. I come from a huge family and have loved growing up with younger children and extended family.

It has been my passion for as long as I can remember to support children in their development, watching them progress and achieve their interests and skills.

I began working at Kamelia Kids in October 2019 as a Relief Educator. Since then, I have completed my Level 3 Apprenticeship and progressed to my current role as Lead Educator in the Poppy Room (Toddlers). I am now studying towards my Level 5 qualification to continue developing my skills and knowledge in early years education. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working with both toddlers and preschool-aged children. I’m passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, supporting each child’s learning and development. I particularly enjoy engaging the children through storytelling, conversation, and outdoor play in the garden.

I have been working in childcare/early years for over 20 years. I love to watch how children grow and develop through play. This fosters the development of language, socialisation, and creativity. This is all in readiness for the next stage of their development as they transition to school. Being part of this next stage of their development is extremely rewarding.
