We have had some disappointment in terms of communication from the staff at handovers but nothing alarming. Most of the staff are very good, friendly and informative but still room for improvement. Otherwise, my child is very happy and they have been patient with her reluctance to settle and my changing
session needs. I would like it though if the use of funding could be improved to allow for a short 6 hour day sessions without having to incur costs (excluding meals and sundries) as I know other places do offer this and the broken funding makes it difficult for employment to be profitable which is not the sentiment of the funding I believe.
Reply from Suzanne Charlesworth, Nursery Operations Director at Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach SchoolHere at Kamelia Kids, we were disheartened that there were concerns during the early stages of settling in. As soon as these matters came to our attention, we were able to respond and implement actions quickly. If there are still concerns that have not been fully addressed, we encourage further discussion.
Our nursery fee offer is clearly detailed on our website and in addition to this we do happily work with parents to provide the most cost-effective plan within our fee structure, and where possible we offer bespoke hours.
We always value feedback from our families so that we can improve upon our practices and our provision.

Staff are extremely considerate, professional and caring. They always give a lot of information on pick up as to how my daughter's day went, and they take care to ensure we’re made aware of any mishaps she may have gotten into as she loves to climb! No bad words, just praise.

My son started at Kamelia last October and I honestly believe it is the best nursery around! Staff are exceptional, the rooms are fab, huge gardens and they are always doing wonderful activities with the children. My son has previously suffered from separation anxiety and the staff were amazing with
trying to help both him and myself settle. My son now loves his nursery and I'm always content dropping him off knowing he'll have a great day with lots of fun! Thank you all at Kamelia.

My little boy has been attending Kamelia Kids since he was 9 months old. From day one he has loved every single day - it’s always been a struggle to leave at the end of the day as he loves it there.
The staff are amazing: the care they give and have always given is amazing while developing and nurturing
my son.
As a new parent, I was always put at ease by the staff, when feeling unsure or when I had questions. Their care and support to both parents and children is second to none.
Through the pandemic, they continued to deliver an outstanding service.
My little boy will be going to school in September and his last day at nursery will be a sad day for him and me. We will hold the memories and friendships made forever. Thank you.

We started at the nursery in March 2020 due to our current childminder closing due to COVID. The staff are extremely friendly, polite and have been so flexible with sessions as I work a 10-week shift pattern. My son has intolerances and the nursery have supported this by providing a special menu. I
cannot recommend this nursery enough. They are amazing.

The staff are fabulous and so welcoming. My little girl loves it there, she’s not long started but very pleased so far. Parking is always available and the staff come to the door very quickly so we aren’t waiting outside too long. I appreciate the feedback on collection and they don’t mind if I call
for updates either which is great.

I felt completely supported by all of the staff and management at Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School when my 7 month old started with them 4 days a week. They made a very emotional and stressful time for me and my daughter a delight. My daughter is now 1 year old and she is thriving. The communication
from the team on a daily basis is excellent it feels like home from home for my daughter.

My daughters have been attending Kamelia Kids for the last 5 years, both starting in the baby room at 9 months old all the way up to the preschool and after school club.
The dedication of the team is second to none. We have always been able to ask for support when we’ve needed it, discussed any behavioural
changes with the staff, especially regarding the impact of the pandemic on the children. The staff and management are amazingly approachable and welcoming and I am always made to feel comfortable. There is never anything I feel I can’t ask or discuss and the girls are in their element every day they go. They’ve both made amazing friends and developed incredibly as little independent people in the best surroundings.

I moved my son to Kamelia Kids from another nursery as it was closer to home. I couldn’t be happier with how welcoming and supportive all the staff were during this transition. My son has come on leaps and bounds and his confidence and speech has improved remarkably with support from both staff and
SEND. The staff go above and beyond and show such genuine warmth and care to us as a family. I will not hesitate to send our new baby to Kamelia in due course.

I was very unsure about sending my son with additional needs to nursery, until I saw Kamelia Kids! I knew straight away they could care for him. They do such a great job and he loves going there. They are so understanding and adapt hours etc to his needs. The SENCO is particularly helpful and his key
worker is lovely. All the staff adore him its great to see. Can't recommend this nursery enough for kids with additional needs or otherwise!

Kamelia Kids is a great nursery! The building is fantastic as they have lots of large open spaces all on 1 level. They have a sensory room and garden which my boys love. All of the staff are amazing, they are all very caring and you can see that they love what they do. They are always happy to help
with last-minute additional sessions.
I recommend this nursery to everyone.

My son has been going to Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School since he was about a year old and I cannot speak highly enough of the nursery, it really is amazing. The staff have been extremely supportive and are all very knowledgeable. When my son first started, he didn’t want to go and they really
took the time and effort to help him settle and to get to know him. Now, he loves going to nursery and comes home bouncing with excitement. He has developed so much since he has been there and this is solely down to the environment and the efforts of the staff.

A brilliant nursery who go above and beyond in looking after my three year old. He's been there two years and loves it. Always happy to go, always has a fun filled day and knowing his obsession with Avengers, even made sure he had some Spiderman things to play with. A brilliant place with the most caring
staff and lovely facilities. Easy to contact and always quick to reply to any queries. Am genuinely grateful for their care and kindness. I would recommend in a heartbeat.

Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is fantastic, from both management and all staff. Our daughter is progressing, learning and having what she describes as ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’. She loves the staff and can’t wait to get in through the gate! The staff are always cheerful, friendly and welcoming, they
have a good awareness of our daughters needs and I have great trust in them.
Communication is excellent. This is a happy place, the staff are always happy and you can tell they love their jobs, which is so nice to see. Their professionalism and commitment throughout lockdowns and Covid-19 has been outstanding with good clear policies, safety, guidance and timely updates, they have provided support and peace of mind. Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is a wonderful nursery. They worked really hard with me and my little boy to get him settled and now he absolutely loves going. The staff are amazing, they clearly care so much about all the kids and I know my little boy loves them, especially his key worker.
They always keep me up to date on how he's doing and even provide photos of him playing. His language and counting has improved since we upped the number of days he goes. Overall I'm very happy I chose this nursery!

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.384)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.384) out of 10 for Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.880 for Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is calculated as follows: ( (147 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 4.88
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.504 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kamelia Kids Day Nursery & Beach School is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 107 number of registered child places is 21.4. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.4 = 0.654
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
