The team at Kamelia Kids are proud to be able to deliver high-quality children’s early years education and development both indoors and outdoors.

The nursery provides a caring, inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children of all abilities. With particular commitment to those with special and additional needs due to sickness, physical or mental disability, poverty, or social and economic circumstances through the provision of facilities, help and education, including support to their families and carers, to enable them to achieve the best possible educational, developmental, and other outcomes.

According to their individual needs, children are given opportunities to become competent learners, and to flourish in all areas of their development through play, exploration, and active and creative experiences, both indoors and out, including within the local community and beaches.

The nursery is committed to putting families and children's voices at the heart of nursery life to enable the children to grow and flourish.

Kamelia Kids has been operating for over 40 years and is a not-for-profit charity-run nursery. Because of its charitable status, it strongly influences its values and its holistic approach to childcare.

As a charity, the trustee's role is primarily strategic, and to monitor the financial performance, management, and quality assurance processes within the organisation.

All monies received go to benefit the children attending the nursery.

Kamelia Kids takes nothing for granted and are committed to constantly monitoring, evaluating, and improving its standards of care.

My grandson has had a wonderful time at Kamelia Kids. He is a sensitive child but has been nurtured by the staff and encouraged to fulfil his potential. I feel confident that he is being well prepared for ‘big school’. I can’t recommend the nursery highly enough. The feedback at pick-up time is detailed,

Great staff. He has developed his skill set in all areas and really enjoys his days here. He loves the outdoors play area, enjoys the different activities, and as parents, we feel comfortable and safe with him being here as they always seem to be on top of things. He sleeps well and enjoys his food

I know I don’t have to question if my son likes it there as he doesn’t turn back to look at me when I drop him off.
I know I don’t have to question if he is learning as he comes home everyday with new sounds, dance moves and sign language.
I know I don’t have to question if I have made the right
decision as his face at the end of the day tells me everything I need to know.

We absolutely love all the team at Kamelia who take such good care of our son. The team in Daisy room are so kind and are always on hand to offer me advice. Since my child has been attending Kamelia, he has come on leaps and bounds in development and personality which is fantastic to see!!

This nursery has the most caring and compassionate staff. My little boy has so many opportunities attending Kamelia Kids and is so happy there. The staff have such a passion for their work and this is clear from the handovers and support they give the children. The nursery supports families as a unit
without judgement and go above and beyond in all aspects. The facilities are phenomenal and the nursery is kept in such a clean and safe condition. Food is varied, nutritious and interesting. All children are treated as individuals and given all they need to thrive.

I started a new job following redundancy and needed to arrange nursery much sooner than I had anticipated. I was recommended Kamelia Kids and they did not disappoint. The management and staff went above and beyond to settle my little boy so quickly and to reassure me during such a stressful time. I
can honestly say he has thrived since going to Kamelia Kids and really come out of his shell and gained confidence.

Both of our boys have attended Kamelia Kids Day Nursery, we cannot recommend this setting enough. They’ve been incredible for our autistic son, everyone was highly qualified and helped us navigate the special school application process, special thanks to the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
Our youngest has been going for 6 months and loves it, we’re so happy we found this nursery!

What a fabulous nursery with great facilities. The staff are amazing - so friendly and helpful and always have a smile on their faces. They take time to give feedback on collection and inform me of all the fun activities that my son has participated in throughout the day. After a wobbly start, my son
has now settled well and I feel happy dropping him off knowing he is in safe hands.

We have had some disappointment in terms of communication from the staff at handovers but nothing alarming. Most of the staff are very good, friendly and informative but still room for improvement. Otherwise, my child is very happy and they have been patient with her reluctance to settle and my changing
session needs. I would like it though if the use of funding could be improved to allow for a short 6 hour day sessions without having to incur costs (excluding meals and sundries) as I know other places do offer this and the broken funding makes it difficult for employment to be profitable which is not the sentiment of the funding I believe.

Staff are extremely considerate, professional and caring. They always give a lot of information on pick up as to how my daughter's day went, and they take care to ensure we’re made aware of any mishaps she may have gotten into as she loves to climb! No bad words, just praise.

My son started at Kamelia last October and I honestly believe it is the best nursery around! Staff are exceptional, the rooms are fab, huge gardens and they are always doing wonderful activities with the children. My son has previously suffered from separation anxiety and the staff were amazing with
trying to help both him and myself settle. My son now loves his nursery and I'm always content dropping him off knowing he'll have a great day with lots of fun! Thank you all at Kamelia.

My little boy has been attending Kamelia Kids since he was 9 months old. From day one he has loved every single day - it’s always been a struggle to leave at the end of the day as he loves it there.
The staff are amazing: the care they give and have always given is amazing while developing and nurturing
my son.
As a new parent, I was always put at ease by the staff, when feeling unsure or when I had questions. Their care and support to both parents and children is second to none.
Through the pandemic, they continued to deliver an outstanding service.
My little boy will be going to school in September and his last day at nursery will be a sad day for him and me. We will hold the memories and friendships made forever. Thank you.

We started at the nursery in March 2020 due to our current childminder closing due to COVID. The staff are extremely friendly, polite and have been so flexible with sessions as I work a 10-week shift pattern. My son has intolerances and the nursery have supported this by providing a special menu. I
cannot recommend this nursery enough. They are amazing.

The staff are fabulous and so welcoming. My little girl loves it there, she’s not long started but very pleased so far. What I love most about my profession is being a positive role model to children, supporting them to use their own imagination to be creative, and listening to their wonderful ideas. I love creating a nurturing environment that encourages them to explore through play and learn through their own experiences to reach their full potential.

I have worked in early years education since 2007 and am currently one of the Deputy Managers at Kamelia Kids, where I began in July 2025. I hold Level 3 qualifications in Early Years Education, Special Educational Needs Coordination, and Forest School Leadership.


Throughout my career, I’ve gained experience in eight different settings, each shaped by its own unique educational ethos — including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and other child-led, holistic approaches. These experiences have helped shape my flexible and reflective practice.


With several years of leadership and management experience, I am passionate about empowering children and their families, supporting staff development, and creating inspiring learning environments. I am a strong advocate for outdoor learning, the child’s voice, and practices that nurture confidence, independence, and curiosity in every child.


I also have a keen interest in mental health and trauma-informed practice, and I strive to embed these principles into everyday practice to support children’s emotional well-being and resilience.

I began working at Kamelia Kids in October 2019 as a Relief Educator. Since then, I have completed my Level 3 Apprenticeship and progressed to my current role as Lead Educator in the Poppy Room (Toddlers). I am now studying towards my Level 5 qualification to continue developing my skills and knowledge in early years education. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working with both toddlers and preschool-aged children. I’m passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, supporting each child’s learning and development. I particularly enjoy engaging the children through storytelling, conversation, and outdoor play in the garden.
