Acorn at Cold Harbour, West Bletchley.

The nursery provides full day care and sessional places for babies, toddlers and children from four months to four years of age, and the nursery will accept funded two, three and four-year-olds, subject to eligibility.

Since taking over the Cold Harbour pre-school lease of the former children’s centre, staff have been working extremely hard transforming it. The nursery is also combined with an outdoor learning centre, building on a popular Forest School provision and reputation for Forest School training.

This includes an outdoor holiday playscheme which will operate in the school holidays.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

My daughter loves going to this nursery and she settled really quickly. Very good communication with all their staff, nice menus created especially for them and loads of outdoor space with a huge garden and forest area. My little one changed so much since she started nursery. Thank you to all the lovely

Acorn at Cold Harbour is a lovely nursery. I’m so happy I chose to send my daughter there. I was a little worried about how she’d settle there as she had been at home alone with me throughout the pandemic and was nervous around unfamiliar people. The nursery was so understanding and supportive, she
had a really gentle settling-in process and has bonded well with her key person, who is wonderful. She now looks forward to nursery all week and always comes home happy and covered in whatever sensory activity they have done that day! The nursery has a great focus on the outdoors and this really suits my daughter. She is thriving there. Thank you!

I was very reluctant to put my little boy into a nursery, purely because of Covid. However, after a recommendation, we decided to enroll him at Acorn in February and it was the best decision we made. He has progressed so much since being there. The staff are amazing and the regular updates are great!

This is a fun, friendly and safe nursery. My daughter absolutely loves coming here! Her key workers are lovely, and really take good care of her, as well as encouraging her throughout various aspects of her day. She always has a smile on her face, and often tells us about her wonderful day at nursery.
She particularly loves being outside, and especially Forest School. I also love the app, and communication between the nursery and parents. I love that I can look at any time of the day and know what my daughter has been up to. We love when she has a review, and can see all of her lovely pictures and the progress which she’s made.

My daughter loves her nursery, this is her second nursery and I was nervous about changing her but from her first day, she has loved nursery. When I drop her off she is greeted by her lovely nursery teachers who welcome her in with warm hugs... picking her up she is full of smiles, my daughter loves
the outdoors and she loves been outside so finding a nursery that is open door was great for her. She has learnt so much since been at the nursery.

Since our youngest joined at the opening of the nursery, he has received excellent care. The staff are able to pay attention to each child's unique place in their physical and emotional development and tailor their interventions to support this.
Practically, we have borrowed from their culturally expansive
book lending scheme, our boy has grown in his love and curiosity for nature from the nurseries forest school philosophy, and they have put so much effort in the process of getting our boy settled into nursery before and after lockdown.

A simply wonderful nursery for my granddaughter. She is a very outdoorsy type of toddler who loves the amazing garden area where lots of activities are based. She enjoys reading in the outdoor hut in the rain. The nursery equally has wonderful indoor activities. She is a very fussy eater but eats really
well at nursery. I love the fact that I can keep up to date on her progress via the app the nursery uses (Famly). I can see pictures of what she has been up to that day. She reacts really well with the caring staff who have really helped her grow and progress.

My daughter started in March, a couple of months after the nursery opened, and has loved it from her very first settling in day! There is no comparison to her previous setting, an inner-city London preschool with minimal outdoor space and larger class sizes. She has loved all the space and freedom
afforded her and comes home exhausted and covered in mud at the end of the most days which is always a good sign! The staff have shown nothing but commitment and attentiveness to her development which makes them feel like partners on her personal journey. Such an amazing team!

This is a safe, fun and friendly nursery. They offer a wide variety of activities for the children and change these daily which is great as always something new to explore. The garden is fab too (however does always end in a very muddy child!) there is so much space to play outdoors and my little one
loves all the equipment especially the bikes!
The service and contact between the nursery and the parents is also really good too with a dedicated app letting me know what my little one has been up to which is always lovely and reassuring as they also upload pics and he is always smiling! The staff are great and so enthusiastic too you can tell they really enjoy their work which is lovely. Highly recommend!

Cold Harbour nursery is a fantastic nursery. My 7-month-old son has recently started he’s settling in sessions and is due start full-time next week. The staff have been amazing getting him settled in. The staff are so focused On making sure that that everything they do is tailored towards him and what
he enjoys the most. The outside space is a great space for children to learn and be creative. The communication about what you’re child is doing throughout the day is excellent. This nursery I would highly recommend.

Although new, the nursery feels very experienced. The staff are brilliant at communicating and working with parents. The approach is child-focused and includes lots of imaginative play. The children are offered to play outside, no matter the weather. The staff are encouraging and supportive. My child

Amazing nursery. I cannot recommend it enough. Since my child has started in October, he has come on no end. He loves the setting and the staff and really takes advantage of the outdoor area. All the staff are amazing and I wouldn’t have my child go anywhere else.

My daughter has recently started at Acorn and I couldn't fault the way they have integrated her into nursery life. Having been in lockdown, I was worried about her lack of social skills and her being away from me but they have taken this all into consideration and she is thriving after just two weeks
of being there. All of the members of staff are kind, caring and put the children at the centre of everything they do.

Choosing someone else to look after your child is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Trusting someone else to do what you do and care, love, nurture your child, is hard to find. However, without a doubt I can say this is what my son has received at this nursery. The activities, love and
support the staff give to my son is incredible and they are a credit to the Acorn charity. I leave my son knowing that he is cared for, his interests are noted and that all the staff in his room know him well enough to comfort him when needed.
I get updates throughout the day through the Famly app, letting me know what he has eaten etc and I can communicate to them through it if needed.
My husband and I couldn’t be happier with Acorn Cold Harbour and will definitely be recommending them to anyone we can!

I could not be happier with the nursery provision at Cold Harbour Acorn. My son started at one year of age when the nursery first opened. He finds transitions very difficult and the nursery staff have gone over and above to support him when separating from me. They made a personalised nursery book
that we could share at home and this really made a difference. My son’s days at nursery are filled with fun, excitement and lots of care and cuddles. He adores the staff and comes home full of smiles and messy from all of his exploring throughout the day. I love how well the staff know him and they plan activities to meet his likes and interests. My son eats well at nursery and never comes home hungry, he has learnt to use his cutlery and has become more independent at mealtimes. The nursery environment is always clean and well presented. I wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to other parents. The management and the team are absolutely fantastic and truly care about the children in their care.

This nursery is outstanding. I highly recommend to others. The practitioners are friendly and supportive. The setting is really lovely, with an outside classroom, newly planted woodland and interior which is fresh and bright. Toys are wooden, not plastic. Meals are nutritious and tasty. We moved our
son out of a nursery he wasn't enjoying and into Cold Harbour Acorn. He loved it from the moment we visited and he always is excited to attend, often disappointed if it isn't a nursery day - the exact opposite of how he was in his previous setting. This is a nursery which I trust and which has my son as their priority, and I have no reservations in saying they are excellent.
