Acorn at Cold Harbour, West Bletchley.

The nursery provides full day care and sessional places for babies, toddlers and children from four months to four years of age, and the nursery will accept funded two, three and four-year-olds, subject to eligibility.

Since taking over the Cold Harbour pre-school lease of the former children’s centre, staff have been working extremely hard transforming it. The nursery is also combined with an outdoor learning centre, building on a popular Forest School provision and reputation for Forest School training.

This includes an outdoor holiday playscheme which will operate in the school holidays.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

Excellent nursery setting with excellent outdoor play areas. Lovely staff within the Acorn team, who really enjoy being with all the children as well as being excellent at caring for all their needs away from home. The app is great for keeping in touch. Would highly recommend.

My son has attended this nursery for seven months now and has thrived, being premature it was always a worry that he was going to be behind on his development but with the help of the nursery, he has come such a long way! The staff are fantastic and very welcoming in the baby room and his key person
goes above and beyond to meet his needs, she is amazing with him. He loves everyone there and goes in so happy, it's lovely to see. The nursery has an app in which you can see everything they have done, from nappy changes to how much they have eaten and tells you when they are asleep, so it’s nice to be able to see how he's getting on. They upload photos regularly to show all the activities they have been doing during the day and any outings they have been on. The food provided is great, always giving them a hot, healthy meal at lunchtime. A great outdoor space available to them at any time. I would highly recommend Acorn Day Nursery (Cold Harbour), it is lovely to see how much they really do care about our children.

My daughter loves nursery. Whenever we drop her off in the morning she always runs in because she is so excited to be there and I think it's down to the staff. They are all so friendly, helpful and welcoming and always find brilliant new ways for the kids to discover and interact with new things.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since April 2023 and has learnt so much. She used to be very timid and shy, but is now very confident and bubbly. The staff are all amazing. Brilliant nursery, our baby is thriving there and you can see how happy he is when he comes home. They are very good with activities, feeding and work with us to develop a nap routine. For the 4 days a week he is there we can see how well he is developing. The app is a great way of being updated throughout
the day and everything is logged on there from naps, nappy changes and feeding. Our daughter went there for 3 years and now our son has been there for a month and will see out his nursery days there too.

So pleased with this nursery. I feel that a very clear sign is that my daughter thoroughly enjoys nursery goes in very happy and comes out at the end of the day tired and dirty from all the activities and fun that have been had. I must say, this nursery is outstanding. It's so wonderful that I have decided to bring my son here after my daughter attended four years ago. My daughter gained a lot of confidence, built great friendships, and loved her key worker and the chef. I'm happy to see that the same high standard is being

The team at Acorn Day Nursery (Cold Harbour) made the transition to the nursery easy, they treated our son as an individual and were happy to accommodate his own routine and needs. The team is extremely caring and has even checked in with us on days he is not in. Even when drop-off is tricky, we feel
reassured knowing our son is in a safe and caring environment. The app is used regularly, with frequent communications and photos. The nursery is set up every day with fun, relevant and appropriate activities. The staff are always happy and smiling.

My son has been coming to nursery part time since he was 4 months old.
This being my first nursery experience I was nervous but now it’s the best decision I made. My son is thriving from being there.
My son’s key worker is amazing, he absolutely loves her, as he does all the staff in baby room.
The setting is lovely and the range of activities they do is great. You can just tell he’s had the best day when we collect him.
I love the app and the updates I get throughout the day and knowing I can message at any point.
I would highly recommend Acorn Cold Harbour. Thank you to all the staff for all they do.

My son has been at this nursery for nearly 18 months, starting in the baby room and progressing to the next room.
We joined this nursery after 3 months at another local nursery which we felt we could not continue at for various reasons.
Felt apprehensive about trying another but since my son has
been at Acorn Cold Harbour we’ve been really impressed and happy with the care he receives and everything that comes with it.
Regular updates, outings, and activities are always so nicely set up and the staff go above and beyond.
Outdoor space is really impressive.
My son always eats very well here and comes home happy and healthy!
We are so happy we have found this nursery, and would not hesitate to recommend it (this specific nursery was recommended to me by multiple people also).

Such a brilliant nursery! Every time my son comes home, he lists off what he’s been up to and what he had for food (which is always something different!). The staff are so friendly and always go above and beyond to make sure my little boy is happy and well looked after.

My son has been at Acorn Cold Harbour since he was 1. He is now nearly 4 and will be so sad to leave when he goes off to school! The staff throughout each room have been excellent and he loves his time at nursery. Cannot thank them enough for everything they do. Including exciting days out, family interactions
and fun day to day activities. They also provide a great range of food each day. Highly recommend nursery!

I would highly recommend Acorn Cold Harbour. Both of my children have attended the setting and I can't speak highly enough of it. The staff genuinely care about the children and develop a wonderful connection with them. The ethos of the nursery is very positive, has a good balance between child and
adult led time and I love that they have unlimited access to the massive outdoor area, including a hut and forest area. The focus on wooden and open-ended learning is better for the children and the environment. They have the best chef inside who creates amazing meals for the children and is inclusive of children with special dietary requirements, making sure my two allergy children were able to eat what their friends were just adapted for their needs. You will always be greeted with a smile and warm welcome anytime you drop or collect your child and have regular feedback about how they are getting on. Thank you!

My little boy absolutely loves going to this nursery, he's been going every weekday now for about 1.5yrs and although a little nervous those first few weeks the team made him feel really welcome and it wasn't long before he was running in every morning and continues to do so(bar the odd off day), he
absolutely loves all the staff here as do both of us. He moved up to the squirrels in April this year and again the transition was made very comfortable for him and settled in extremely well! The team are fantastic, our son talks about them with a smile on his face, and tells us all the exciting things he got up to each day. Could not recommend Acorns enough they are fantastic!

My daughter absolutely loves it at nursery. Her vocabulary is improving, her confidence is growing and she is exploring lots of new things. She absolutely loves being outside, which they always offer her, no matter the weather and she eats very well there. Her key worker is amazing and she coped very
well with my daughter being quite clingy and she is becoming less so. My only criticism, if anything, is I'd like more photos, as I'm so intrigued to know what she's up to and we see so many photos of other nurseries doing trips out and I don't think my daughter has ever done one, but that's just being ultra picky.
