As part of the Farm Day Nurseries group, Adventure Valley Day Nursery & Pre-School is purpose-built to offer the very best early years education within a countryside environment.

Offering quality childcare for children from 6 weeks old, children will enjoy daily visits to the farm animals and free flow access between the nursery building and the private nursery and pre-school gardens. Adventure Valley was recently rated 'Good' by Ofsted in their April 2022 inspection.

Children also enjoy a new woodland space, exclusive for nursery use, where children enjoy a number of woodland activities.

The new day nursery & pre-school offers 2, 3 & 4-year-old funding including 30 free hours.

We checked out a few nurseries in the area but none really stood out for us until we heard about this one. We knew after the first visit this was the one. Excellent facilities, spotlessly clean and brand new, lovely outdoor area and amazingly friendly staff. Our son had a few settling in sessions which
he loved and he could not wait to go back after each one. We feel so happy that our son is coming to such a lovely, friendly nursery that he absolutely loves coming to. The staff could not be any more friendly and really helped to get our son settled into nursery life. The location of the nursery is amazing with daily visits into Adventure valley farm. So pleased we heard about this nursery.

My little girl is currently in the baby room we were given lots of settling in sessions where the staff got to know her. By the time it came for her to start she was comfortable in the setting and was fine when I left her. She absolutely loves going to nursery and now gets excited when we pull up. The
staff are all really friendly and welcoming. They always have lots of activities set up and will tailor things to suit the interests of the children. There is lots of communication about day to day activities and observations of the children.
What we really love about the nursery is the access they have to the farm. The learning opportunities for the children there are brilliant and my little girl loves animals.
I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone looking for childcare.

I highly recommend this wonderful nursery to anyone who is looking for exceptional childcare. The setting is perfect with brand new facilities and the added bonus of daily access to the Adventure Valley farm. The staff are lovely and genuinely care for each child's welfare and support their success
and development at this important stage of their lives.
Our granddaughter runs to see staff and they are never far from her thoughts, she loves going to nursery at Adventure Valley and we are so pleased we found this little gem.
I do not hesitate to recommend Adventure Valley Nursery to anyone, give the manager a ring you won't be disappointed.

This is an amazing nursery! After looking at several nurseries in the Durham area, this is the one that stood out to me. My son is my first child and I was very wary about where to send him to nursery but after visiting Adventure Valley Day Nursery I knew this was the right place for him. Lovely location,
dedicated staff and I love the fact my son gets to visit the farm on a regular basis. He absolutely loves it! He has been attending since he was 18 months old and I can’t recommend this nursery and its staff highly enough.

My son loves going to Adventure Valley Day Nursery and his talking and understanding has come on a lot from when he first started. The staff are lovely and very approachable and answers any queries I have. Totally recommend to anyone.

We were very impressed with this nursery from our look around, the rooms are lovely and spacious, very light and appealing and I loved the toys and equipment available.
The staff are lovely and friendly, and make you feel very welcome when arriving. My little boy gets a little unsettled when I first
leave but the girls do an amazing job at getting him to settle and play and when picking him up he's always happily playing.
It has a great indoor space but also the outside area is lovely, and there's also the added bonus of the children get to visit the farm to feed the animals, enjoy tractor rides and have lots of fun.
I am so glad to have chosen this nursery for my little boy.

My little girl recently started at the nursery and it's the best decision we could have made. She absolutely loves it, the staff are fantastic with her and ensure you that when you leave she is in safe hands.
The two-year-old area is so well set out and sensory orientated which is great for my little
girl with lots of access to outside. It's extremely clean.

My son was due to start on the 8th of Nov but due to illness he started a week later, the staff were fabulous about putting his start date back! My son has taken a few weeks to get used to going but I feel he is happy and is now starting to settle not long after he is left. All of the staff are really
friendly and very approachable, I get a daily update on how my son had enjoyed his day and things he has been up too. The farm is a fantastic bonus to the nursery that my son loves so much! My son now gets excited on the morning of nursery and he loves his key worker.
Overall I love this nursery and recommend any parent to send their little people here as they will love it too.

My daughter, who is 13 months, attends the nursery for two full days and has done since the nursery opened, and absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing, so warm and friendly. The facilities are brilliant and so incredibly clean. I love that my daughter gets to visit the farm regularly and also plays
outside and gets fresh air. I would highly recommend the nursery

Julie Norton

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Hello, my name is Julie Norton and I am the Nursery Manager at Adventure Valley Day Nursery & Pre-School. I have worked in childcare for almost 20 years and hold a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies and an NNEB Diploma in Childcare.


I take pride in building those early relationships with both children and parents and love to see children at my nursery grow and develop each day.


Being the Nursery Manager in this fantastic new setting brings me a lot of joy, seeing children learn through nature-based play including taking daily visits to the farmyard animals is a very unique experience for all.
