Adventure Valley Day Nursery & Pre-School

My grandson has been attending this nursery for over a year after attending a nursery and a child minder. I was a HLTA and have worked in several settings so I know early years. My grandson has thrived in this setting not only do they have access to the farm they have an enriched environment that is child lead for e.g. my grandson enjoyed Snow White so the staff organised an activity which had frozen objects which they had tools to dig with to encourage fine motor skills, the children pretended to be the dwarfs so were engaged with imaginary play the children then were encouraged to make cardboard pick axes which encouraged cognitive abilities . Not only did my grandson enjoy this but all of his peers had great fun. The staff keep you well informed about the day and send photos to show different activities relating to the EYFS. The food is always freshly cooked. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and easy to approach.Truly a unique setting that I can't praise enough.

My little boy has been attending Adventure Valley Day Nursery since September 2025. He is now 20 months old and positively thriving! The staff are knowledgeable, nurturing, and so involved - they all take such an active role in his care and I cannot fully articulate how much we appreciate knowing our child is in such capable hands. His confidence has grown immensely, alongside his gross and fine motor skills and his speech and language is phenomenal for his age. The wonderful staff have helped bring him along leaps and bounds and he adores them - to the point that he asks to go and see the staff by name on a Saturday morning and demands we take him to nursery! We couldn't be happier with our choice of nursery; they truly do go above and beyond every day. Thank you.

We are over the moon with the care and love that this nursery provides to our little boy. I was initially really anxious about sending him to nursery as he has a severe egg allergy but the staff put me at ease from the initial visit and went above and beyond by changing the full menu for the day that he goes so there is no risk to him. They took time to listen to my concerns and have a robust care plan in place for him. Our little boy is thriving, enjoying trips to the farm and getting involved in all the activities with staff and other children. We receive feedback every day on the app and just love seeing messages and photos from the staff to let us know about his day. I would highly recommend this nursery to any family in Durham and am so grateful for the hard work of the team every single day.

We absolutely love this nursery, and our experience has been a game-changer for my little boy. He was initially very unsettled and frightened by the sound of other children crying, but with the help and support of the amazing staff, he has overcome so many challenges and is thriving and making so much progression every day. Everyone is approachable, kind, and friendly, and I feel completely at ease leaving my little boy in their care. The freedom the children have to go outside and play and explore is a huge bonus. I could not recommend this nursery enough.

I could not recommend this nursery more. The staff are brilliant - they made the process of leaving my child with someone else seamless. I always felt my child was in safe hands, he received the best care and was loved by the staff. As a mother I wanted my son to need that extra love and attention if he was upset during transitions and this was exactly what he got. The staff knew my son inside and out. They were brilliant at updating the app with his achievements and what he had been up to. A detailed handover was always given and my son had a wonderful bond with the staff in the baby room. I genuinely could not fault anything and always felt like they had my son's interests at heart. As my son has moved to the next room, they planned lots of transition time for him to adjust and worked with the staff in both rooms so he felt safe. Hand on heart, this is the best nursery there is. My son has had a fantastic start in education thanks to this nursery.

Can't recommend this nursery enough. My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 14 months old and absolutely loves it. All of the staff are absolutely amazing and genuinely care for the children. There's a massive focus on outdoor play and the daily visits to the farm are fantastic.

I would recommend Adventure Valley nursery to anyone and everyone. The staff are amazing, my little boy absolutely loves coming here - from the second he walks through the door he just has the biggest smile on his face. He has been attending adventure valley since he was 12 months old and he has come on leaps and bounds. Thank you ladies, you are all fab!!

Both of my children have attended this nursery, and I honestly couldn't be happier with our experience. The staff are absolutely brilliant - caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in the children's development and wellbeing. It's such a comfort knowing my kids are in such capable hands every day. The facilities are outstanding and far better than any others in the area, with excellent resources and a fantastic learning environment. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a safe, nurturing, and high-quality setting for their children.

Wonderful nursery with fantastic, friendly staff. My little one has settled in so well and it's a credit to the staff. They've been so helpful and got to know them so well. The nursery do so many fantastic activities with the kids and keep them well entertained. Finally, the development I've seen in my little one already has been amazing - they're learning so much all the time. Sending your child somewhere is such a nerve wracking decision but I've been so reassured with Adventure Valley. Lovely place.

As a very anxious mother who struggles with trust and separation from her children, I honestly thought that I was really going to struggle going back to work from maternity leave. But I couldn't be more happier with my choice of childcare for my daughter. The nursery is beautifully presented with so much to offer for all children's development. The staff treat my daughter with a kind and caring nature with a genuine interest in her well being and development. I honestly cant thank them enough for the contentment they have given me to go back to work. The nursery is well equipped and offers a clean welcoming environment with fun trips to the farm park included, which is an amazing perk of the nursery. In my experience every member of staff do their best to accommodate you & your child's needs. I cant commend them enough for the enthusiasm and care/attention they give, as it alway's feels like its more than just a job to them.

My twin boys attend and have done since they were 13 months old. I absolutely love the nursery as do my children. They have come on leaps and bounds and are often coming home having learnt new things. The enrichment opportunities are wonderful and I love how much outside play they get to have. I am very happy with our choice of nursery and look forward to having my children attend for the next couple of years before school!

Our daughter has developed so much since starting in the baby room. She always has a great day. They encourage her to do things like crawling and have made so much progress. The staff are great and we meet to talk about the targets set to help her develop. They really have her best interests at heart. Helping her be more independent and nurturing her capabilities. They regularly take the children to the soft play and to see the animals. Our Daughter loves it.

The planned nutrition/menus are also extremely varied & to an extremely high standard. We cannot rate them highly enough. - Thank you!

My 4 year old is leaving to go to school and my 2year old is still attending. Both starting at 9months old. They love the nursery and there is always an adventure to be had. The girls are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. As a parent I always feel welcomed and listened to with regular updates on development and concerns. I am glad I found this nursery and going to the farm I believe has developed confidence and excitement everyday.

We can't thank Adventure Valley Nursery enough for the love, patience, and incredible support they've given our child and our whole family. From the very beginning, they've gone the extra mile to support our child's hearing loss, making sure they felt included, understood, and confident every single day.

As a fussy mam who asks a lot of questions and likes to know every little detail, I've always felt welcomed and reassured. The staff never made me feel like I was being over the top-instead, they listened, communicated openly, and truly cared.

I moved my little boy to this nursery in march from a different nursery. Even on our visit on the open day we noticed how much better this nursery was in comparison to others we had visited. It was cheerful, the staff are welcoming, the building is bright and colourful. There are lots of things for the children to do but mostly we loved the outdoor based learning they do and the regular trips to the farm. It's a fantastic nursery and my little boy enjoys being here. He gets up to lots of fun activities. Highly recommend. My sisters little girl also used to come here.

I cannot sing the praises of Adventure Valley Nursery any higher. It is an outstanding place, all the staff are so friendly and kind, most importantly they are all great with the children! Our daughter is still here (been going to the nursery for around 18 months) and we are so pleased to have found such a pleasant space for her early years which she literally runs into every day! The staff do so much with the children, whether that is inside activities, outside activities or visiting the farm and the odd trip on the bus! Best nursery in Durham by far!

I also love the app which gives me regular updates on what he has been up to and what he has been eating (which is useful for me as he isn't a great eater). 10/10 from us!

The nursery often have events on for parents & families to attend. We have been to a stay and play on pick up and recently a summer festival, which had so many activities throughout all the nursery rooms. Can't recommend the nursery enough!!
