Fennies Woking, Carlton Road is a purpose-built nursery located just 10 minutes from Woking Station, offering an enriching environment for Early Years development. Set in a unique building that once housed a Gordon Ramsay cooking school, the nursery features spacious, light-filled interiors and modern learning areas.

Children benefit from rooms that feature a sensory quiet zone for calm time and reflection. The large garden includes a treehouse, mud kitchen and so much more, encouraging exploration, movement and imaginative play.

Fresh meals are prepared daily by skilled on-site chefs, and families benefit from features such as secure buggy storage and a supportive environment that promotes a smooth daily routine and a strong start to children’s Early Years learning journey.

As an aunt that regularly picks up from the nursery and has done so over the past 2+ years, Fennies Woking has seen incredible improvements over the last year or so since the new manager joined the nursery. There has been such a turnaround in the nursery and we can't thank her enough for the care she
has for the children, staff and parents. You can see the work that has been put in since their Ofsted report and the difference. We're so glad we kept our faith in the nursery to see how far it came. We can't wait to see our son flourish in their environment.

We have used Fennies since summer 2021. In 2023 a new manager was introduced who has since made many excellent improvements to the setting.
The staff are caring and fun which is evident in our daily chats with them, but most importantly in how much our child enjoys their time there, and always has.
The teaching has been excellent. Upon leaving the baby room at 19 months old, our child could do all of the colours, all of the shapes, and count to ten. In pre-school, they enjoy daily science experiments, painting and sometimes even baking!
Facilities are fabulous with high ceilings, large open plan spaces and airy rooms filled with light. The garden is well designed and so much fun, with toddlers and pre-schoolers able to flow freely from inside to outside.
Food allergies have been carefully catered for by the wonderful chef, and the rigour around this has resulted in no reactions for our child.
Fennies Woking is bursting with energy and joy. I would recommend it.

My eldest child started at Fennies in March 2021 at 14 months and left in September 2023 to go to the preschool attached to the school she will be attending. My youngest has been at Fennies since January 2023 and is still attending. My eldest loved her time at Fennies and has wonderful memories from
there. I could always tell how much fun she was having by the pictures that were posted of her involved in so many activities. My youngest also loves going in and gets excited when we pull up outside. I know she is in safe, capable hands (currently in the toddler room) and she has developed so much since joining in January. I credit the staff for this and cannot thank them enough. The girls in those rooms do a wonderful job day in, day out and make the days full of fun in a caring environment.

We had 2 Inadequate ratings from the Ofsted followed by a Required Improvement in spring 2023. The setting feels very unorganised and oversubscribed and they keep losing experienced staff. There are a lot of kids and I feel sometimes they are not properly looked after. I was once handed my child at
the end of the day with a temperature of 40 and no one at the nursery noticed. Recently my child was grabbed by another child, lost balance and hit a wooden surface with his teeth. His front tooth is now dead and again I don't believe the care on the day in the garden was sufficient to stop this.
They have now decided to increase the fees despite their own promise only to do it once they get a Good rating again. We only found out from a parent's chat group as no proper comms were issued. Parents had to chase, received very unclear replies, and the head office keep deleting our comments on the topic and even deleted their own post about this on the Family app. Unbelievable and very disappointed - avoid!

Our daughter attended Fennies from 12 months old to nearly 36 months of age. We only left as we moved home to another county. Fennies were amazing with us and our daughter. Our daughter needed a little bit of extra support when she was younger, but Fennies were absolutely great with this extra workload
and the training required to support her. They never made us feel like a burden and were eager to help. The staff were amazing with us. They were happy to go the extra mile and you could see that they genuinely cared for our child. Our daughter also really enjoyed her time at Fennies and clearly made strong bonds with the staff and some of the other kids. Overall, we think our daughter was well looked after, by people who took the job seriously and cared about the kids. I absolutely recommend Fennies and wish them all the best for the future.

Our children joined Fennies Woking in Summer 2020 at approx 16 months old. We decided to go with Fennies based on their approaches and wonderful garden space.
Our experience within the baby room (up to 22/24 months) at Fennies was wonderful. The staff was warm and attentive and we never got the impression
that the room was stretched in terms of capacity or supervision.
At approximately 22 months our children moved down to the toddler room. The service received in the toddler room was considerably worse than that received in the baby room. Staff seemed stretched, overworked, and undersupported.
During 2021 it feels as though there has been a considerable turnover of staff at the nursery and an increasing number of children leaving the nursery too.
We pulled our children out of Fennies in November 2021 due to the poor service received in the toddler room. The final straw was our daughter returning from nursery with a chunk of her hair missing and no real explanation from the nursery.

Fennies Woking has been an excellent nursery for us.
We moved from another nursery to Fennies when my son was 3 and a half years old. Comparing the previous nursery with a similar price range (slightly lower than Fennies), I could easily see the huge gap of the quality of childcare and manager’s managing
skills.
We can see the timely updates of the daily activity with photos. The manager’s reply has been very quick.
Not only the huge variety of activities (PE and crafts), my son’s key person has been very good (actually excellent!) at caring for children's emotional development.
My son couldn’t talk much when he joined Fennies, but Fennies supported his development very much. He (4 and a half years old) is now talking about a lot of topics, including planets, dinosaurs, numbers, shapes, baking, paintings, plants, his feelings, his friends’ feelings, etc.
I will recommend Fennies Woking definitely. Thanks.

We are very happy with Fennies in Woking and our daughter absolutely loves going there. The carers are all incredibly nice. The space is great and they play outside in the garden every day. The day is packed with activities from all different learning areas and very entertaining. The food menu is outstanding,
our little one often has seconds as she enjoys it so much. As a parent, you get all details of the day in the care diary and development updates and can also use it to communicate with the staff which is fantastic. The only downside is that our daughter was assigned to 4 different key persons in 9 months and that it’s quite pricey. Overall we can highly recommend Fennies.

Both my children now attend Fennies Woking. They both enjoy their time at nursery and we are happy we chose Fennies. Even since my eldest started they have made lots of improvements which both my children benefit from. The facilities are great, the staff friendly and hard working and the children get
to do so many different activities as well as extras like learning French and Spanish and taking part in ‘PE’ and yoga.
We also get access to daily care diaries and lots of observations showing what they have been up to at nursery. Having spoken to other mums I get to see more pictures and hear more about how my children are getting on than those at other nurseries.

As a mum of twin boys, the choice of nursery was one I did not take lightly. My sons went when they were two years old and in hindsight, I wish I had sent them earlier. Both my children have really thrived at nursery and now two years later love going. The nursery has been very supportive with one son,
spotting developmental issues which I was not aware of and helping support this over the last two years. We have had one to one sessions with the key workers looking at plans to help support my son which has been very beneficial for him. They also spotted he had glue ear when we were unaware too.
All the staff are amazing, from the top down.
I love the feedback tool and as a full time working mum it is very useful to know what the children get up to during the day.
I joined the parent's rep group which has been insightful to understand how a nursery works. I have found the management team at the nursery and also head office very approachable and open to suggestions.

Our daughter has attended the nursery over the past almost two years and absolutely loves it. In particular, the environment for toddlers is great as she has direct access to a wonderful garden and does a variety of daily activities including yoga, art, science and reading. The staff are fantastic and
their approach over the past year with Covid-19 has been great, professional, organised and put the children’s health and well-being as a priority. Communication is good with an app used to outline what children have done in the day and a round-up of activities at the end of the week.

We are extremely happy with the care provided by Fennies, from the moment we enquired they have been very attentive and filled us with confidence. We're delighted with Fennies Woking. The range and quality of activities is the best we've seen, and the staff we've encountered - in both the baby (Explorers) and toddler (Discoverers) rooms - are very capable, caring and motivated, functioning well as a team. Our son is excited to go to nursery each
day and comes home happy and positively buzzing about everything he's done. The facilities are modern, light and airy and of a very high standard. And they make good use of the Tapestry app for updating us on what our son's done each day, as well as his sleep and meals. The food is great - varied and based on nutritional science, and dietary requirements are well catered for. They also have an amazing all-weather garden full of exciting activities. Generally, we feel our son gets excellent levels of individual care and attention as well as being able to socialise and develop alongside others. Fennies Woking has to be among the strongest nursery offerings in the area. I'd really recommend it.

I am very pleased with Fennies. When I registered my son in August 2020 there was not a single negative review that I could find on Facebook groups and now I can relate and understand why. My son absolutely loves going to Fennies and has been learning some amazing stuff. I highly recommend the nursery
to my colleagues at work. Only thing is that the road outside Woodham Fennies is becoming a nightmare to drive due to potholes on the road. I hope they get fixed soon.

I cannot rate Fennies Woking highly enough, and I'm a picky parent. My sons have been to three nursey settings now, and Fennies is by far the best. The thought that goes into planning the activities and the fun the kids have is great to see. Their facilities are wonderful, but also constantly being
updated, as does their curriculum. Fennies seem to be at the forefront of preschool education, always introducing the latest initiatives and learning methods. It also has very lovely and knowledgeable staff and is a well-run place. Well done, Fennies!
