Located in the heart of York, Little Green Rascals Minster Yard is committed to eco-conscious practices, proudly holding the distinction of being the first Little Green Rascals city nursery. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The nursery offers the perfect setting for exciting adventures and explorations. Regular outings expose little ones to the wonders of the magnificent city - whether it's delving into history at one of the museums, savouring a sweet treat at Bettys, or feeding squirrels in the Museum Gardens, the children are always out and about, regardless of the weather.

Embracing the beauty of nature, the nursery practices Forest School in Minster Gardens. In addition, a range of optional extra-curricular activities are on offer, to enrich children's experiences. From science classes and yoga to drama, French and Spanish lessons and various sports classes, the aim is to provide a diverse array of opportunities for children’s growth and development.

The nursery spans across two buildings, each with two floors dedicated to different age groups. The four rooms within these buildings feature dedicated areas for messy play, soft play, small world exploration and reading, along with separate spaces for peaceful sleep. The private garden further enhances the learning environment, boasting a mud kitchen and a lush lawn area.

From the first day our daughter attended Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery - 7 Minster Yard we couldn't be happier with the service received. The surroundings are well maintained, rooms and external areas replete with a good balance of toys and learning aids, but by far the best attribute is
the amazing staff team. Every single member of Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery - 7 Minster Yard staff I have ever had contact with has gone above and beyond to deliver a flawless service and makes me so glad my daughter is in their care.

The staff are really welcoming, positive and deal with issues really professionally and sensitively. The key workers seem to take a real interest and deliver good feedback on progress as well. The little ladybird's room seems really great at activities.

Very happy with the nursery. Our daughter loves her time here. They have lots of interesting activities as well as hugs for kids and good food. My daughter also loves the Spanish classes. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we didn't have a lot of opportunities to see the nursery inside but have seen multiple
photos with happy and engaged children, which is telling.

Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery - 7 Minster Yard is a fantastic nursery offering lots of first-hand experiences to the children with it being located in the city centre. They have regular trips out to the library, railway museum and the wonderful gardens and parks of York. The facilities are
great and the indoor and outdoor environment is particularly stimulating and offers lots of adventure and exploration for the children to explore. It is apparent that lots of very hard work has gone into the nursery by the brilliant, caring, kind and very helpful staff team, and their outstanding manager. I would very highly recommend this nursery if you are keen for your child to flourish and to have a great start in their young lives.

Great nursery with lovely friendly staff who clearly care about every child. I feel completely at ease leaving my daughter there while at work, and she loves it so much she often doesn't want to leave. Couldn't have found a better place for her. A little pricey but worth it.

Gorgeous place to leave my little boy!
I’m so happy he has a place here even though I have to drive into York and out again to get to work. He loves it and is so full of beans when I pick him up. He’s very happy there. He loves the staff and you can tell they know him well as they interact and play
with the children (not ‘supervise’ them). They’re always doing activities and the food sounds delicious.
Life is great at Little Green Rascals!

I am in a very happy position to comment upon the amazing work carried out at Little Green Rascals (Minster Yard). Not only the staff members of the nursery are friendly, accommodating and understanding on a personal level but they also showcase excellent professionalism, ethos and care towards the
children.


The nursery environment is warm, colourful and welcoming, with home-like touch to it; and the activities children are engaged with are stimulating, fun and building upon their skills. Coupled with delicious and freshly prepared food, Little Green Rascals are the best option for working parents/caregivers.


This reflects in my son’s development during his time at Little Green Rascals but most importantly in his enthusiasm every time I take him. Being a new mum, this has been the best feeling in the world, knowing that my son is happy and nurtured away from me.


Thank you Little Green Rascals for taking such great care of my child. I hope you grow more in the future to welcome more families to this wonderful experience.

I can’t recommend this nursery enough, from the wonderfully caring staff to the fantastic activities for the children. Even though my little boy hasn’t been going here long we already feel part of the Little Green Rascals family and everyone is always so friendly and helpful. Communication is brilliant
as the app used gives you details on what your rascal is up to, including what they’ve eaten and nappy changes! Every key worker sets up engaging activities that have helped my little one to develop and keen to carry on learning at home. Even the lovely Chef who cooks fantastic organic meals is always so open and welcoming. Having come from an educational job myself I can’t fault them and highly recommend to anyone that will listen!

We moved from London to York in January and were worried about how our son would adapt to a new setting. Little Green Rascals have been incredible; very welcoming, great admin processes and our son comes home every day exhausted from all of the fun that he has had each day. The updates via the app,
really help to give you insight into what your little one has achieved/experienced during the day. Little Green Rascals has surpassed our expectations!

Absolutely incredible company and establishment. Can't imagine sending my boys anywhere else. So flexible, welcoming and accommodating. Have helped my two boys come on leaps and bounds in just 3 months since they started. They both absolutely love going to nursery.

We adore Little Green Rascals - Minster Yard. Our little boy is SO content there, he goes off each day with a smile on his face into the welcoming arms of a member of Little Green Rascals - Minster Yard staff. He comes home exhausted and happy, having had a truly lovely day (baking, walks out, singing
etc). What more can a parent ask for?! The staff are so genuine and kind. They really love each child and take every step to see their individual needs are met. 10/10.

The staff, atmosphere and location are all unbeatable with 7 Minster Yard. We feel exceptionally lucky to have our son go there (and are the envy of all our friends). Despite teary drop-offs and many wobbles, the team have done everything to try help our transition into nursery life as seamless as possible.

I love my job. It is such a nice feeling coming to work and enjoying what I do each and every day, and the children that I look after play a big part in that. Since being very young I have always wanted to work with children.
