Our son started nursery at 5 months old and we were initially very nervous about sending him. The LCR team (dancing dragonflies) were absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to make the transition smooth. Our son loves his nursery days and always has a big smile when he sees the team. They
keep us updated on his day with pictures and messages and support his learning well.

Great nursery - my little one has been there since he was 10 months and has been looked after brilliantly.
Friendly staff who are genuinely interested and caring. It's reassuring to know that the food on offer is great quality and has lots of variety. Thanks LGR!! Foret school + music lessons =

We were initially nervous about sending our baby to start nursery in the Dancing Dragonflies room but the team at Little Green Rascals have been excellent and went above and beyond to help him settle in well. Our son looks forward to his nursery days and always has a big smile when he sees his key
worker.

We have had our son at Minster Yard since he was 12 months and he (and us) have had the best experience with Minster Yard. We are so happy to see how he flourishes and love the staff, who truly go above and beyond to meet each individual child's needs. The facilities are great, too, toys are in
excellent condition and activities meaningful and of educational value while absolute fun for the little ones (highlights include Baby Band which our son loves). The food is excellent, nutritious and varied- and lovingly prepared by a fantastic and super friendly kitchen team on site! We moved to York for work and without any family connections in town, and we can not stress enough how Minster Yard really was so important to help us all settle here. Our son is now moving up to Cheeky Hens and we are so happy to see that he has already made some lovely friends. A big thank you to the fantastic team and management of Minster Yard- we cannot recommend you highly enough!

The nursery staff are amazing, caring, kind and respectful. Our older son attended and now his younger brother is in the same nursery. They both love going to the nursery, they love attending forest school, active play sessions, yoga and French lessons which is great because my husband is half
French and I am half Swedish. They even asked us some words written in French and Swedish that we use with the boys at home so that they can also learn and are able to understand in case of boys use it. my youngest loves his keyperson and friends in nursey. The nursery is diverse too, and I am very happy that both our boys attended it. We are very happy and grateful to the staff. My boys also love the food in the nursery, and they always ask for more. Which is great so I am very relax knowing that they are well fed and taking care of while me and my husband are working. Thank you to the staff

My daughter has only been attending this nursery for a few months but she absolutely loves it, as do I. The staff have all been amazing and especially attentive during the first few weeks, which was very reassuring for me as a first time mum. They are extremely caring and have helped make the
daunting transition to nursery completely stress-free with lots of regular updates throughout each day. They're so friendly and welcoming and the nursery is lovely.

Our son has been at this nursery since 2024 and we are very impressed with the standards. Our son has complex medical needs and the team cannot do enough to help us. Not only is our son happy and thriving when there, they have helped us navigate the SEND system. The staff here are kind and caring
across all rooms and the management team are approachable and very responsive. They have all worked hard to include our son in all aspects of the day, meet his additional needs and communicate well with us. They have dedicated send staff, but the whole team is very knowledgable and fantastic with our son and with us as a family.

The nursery is absolutely wonderful, providing a warm, nurturing and safe environment where my toddler has thrived. The staff are kind, attentive and creative. My son genuinely loves going and I feel at peace knowing he is in such caring hands.

My son attends Little Green Rascals Minster Yard in the preschool room where he started in October after moving from another nursery. My son found the transition very challenging as he'd been at his previous nursery from a baby and had fab relationships with the staff and his little friends! The
preschool team and management have been nothing short of brilliant since he joined- providing him with extra settling in sessions and giving him the love and care he really needed during that difficult period!
My son loves his preschool room and has built amazing bonds with the team and made some lovely new friends!
The activities and extra curricular sessions with mini kixx, yoga, French and rugby are an amazing touch and give fantastic learning experiences each day!
The team in preschool are so kind and supportive! Big shout out to Chelsea, Liv and Aimee who are so attentive and loving towards my lad!
Management are also amazing offering great support and stay and play sessions alongside other experiences too

LGR Minster Yard has been our child's nursery for the last 2.5 yrs now. The team have been fantastic throughout all classes and ages. The location provides so many additional activities built into the standard offering. A typical week offers baby yoga, French, football, music classes and rugby
activities all as standard. I simply haven't seen this kind of schedule elsewhere in the local market.
The team are structured and really professional, they work hard to provide a core curriculum to the children and we've noticed how this has directly influenced our own child's development. We now have a confident, social and inquisitive child who truly enjoys his nursery time and nursery friendships. The Minster Yard team have played a key role in that development.
Any questions or challenges I've ever experienced the team have dealt with proactively. I'd find it hard to believe there is a better location within York to send your child to.

A really amazing nursery where my child thrives! It is so nice to pick her up and see the smiles after a busy day full of activities and outdoor play.
The forest school is an asset and so much available to my child's learning. The city centre location is a blessing with all of the local area
available.
Really impressed with the staff teams, who my daughter loves to be with and how well it is managed from all angles.

Our son has been at this nursery since September 2024 and after the initial adjustment, he has had a brilliant time. Based on what my partner and I see via the app, and from what we've observed during the nursery's open days, the range of activities is good, he is well looked after and his
development is supported. The food is good-quality and crucially, he is able to have a huge amount of fun, with learning incorporated into the play. We've been very happy with what has been provided so far and are confident that as he progresses through the rooms, the nursery will continue to support him.

We are extremely pleased with our experience at LGR Minster Yard. The location is very convenient, with the beautiful Church a stones throw from the nursery. My son started at 7 months old, and I have always felt impressed with the care he has received - now, he leans in to his key person every
morning, so excited to go inside! I am amazed by the quality and variety of the food he eats, and nursery has certainly assisted us hugely with his weaning journey. The range of activities offered impresses me daily (and especially the messy ones, which my son seems to love!) and the thoughtfulness of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble, and they have been so accommodating and flexible. We love getting notifications on the app about what he's been up to in the day and checking in with his key person every evening, where we can chat through his day. A wonderful nursery - we feel comfortable dropping our son off each day, and confident that he is learning so much in the care of the staff.

We are really happy with the care provided at this nursery. My son started at 9 months and I found it difficult to leave him at first but he has flourished in the past 5 months.
The staff are very helpful, friendly and engaged with the children. The activities and toys on offer are superb and
beyond anything we can do at home.
My son has developed a strong bond with staff members and particularly loves the sensory room and outdoor activities this nursery offers.
He has learned so much at nursery, including songs, sign language and new skills. I'm really pleased we chose this nursery.
The staff are great at keeping you updated throughout the day on the app too - not too many updates but enough that you know your child is having a good day. I would always trust them to phone me if he's poorly or struggling, but that has only happened once. I would recommend this nursery to friends and family.

My girls have been going here since they were 6 months old and they are turning two soon. We are delighted with our experience with Minster yard. The staff are great and genuinely very caring towards the children. The nursery is well equipped and clean. They get plenty of outdoor time and
activities. It was a tough decision for us to pick a nursery, as we have twins and the price was a worry, but we are so thankful we chose LGR (despite it not being the cheapest!) as it's just been amazing for their development. The management team have also been great at finding space for ad hoc days when we need them. My only tiny bit of feedback would be that the previous app was much better than the current one, but other than that I have only glowing things to say about this lovely nursery.

Staff are nice and the buildings/facilities are nicer than other nurseries we looked at. Things I don't like - Expensive and they don't let you use all the free child care hours unless your child goes full time. I think this is completely ridiculous. They're always trying to send kids home. Our
other kids at another nursery and they let you use all the free hours first before charging and if the kids got a fever but is alright they're happy to give paracetamol and see how they go. One day at drop off I admitted to giving the paracetamol in the morning as she was teething and then was told they couldn't come in for 6 hours after having paracetamol so I got to miss a morning at work and a mornings pay. Got sent home one day for suspected hand foot and mouth, not unwell just a few spots on a hand, despite having a sign at the entrance saying they don't need excluding for hand for and mouth.

We are so thrilled with our daughter's progress since moving up to pre-school. The staff are so caring and she absolutely loves it there.
The forest school provision is fantastic as are the variety of activities and extra activities from external providers including yoga, science tots and
football.

The nursery is fine - most staff seem generally attentive and supportive of our son. The range of activities on offer is good, and I like that there is forest school. Another nursery I recently visited seems to offer more trips out, so I feel more could be offered here. Food seems good, but there's
definitely a fair bit of repetition in the menus.
The parent app recently changed, which is disappointing. Although staff do their best with updates, the new app itself is buggy and lacking features that the old app handled very well. It has also made more admin tasks manual, which is a step backwards.
Overall OK, but just not convinced on value for money, given recent price hikes in January put the fees at well above the average for York.
