Kids Planet Preston, formerly Newlands Nursery School, is an Ofsted Outstanding nursery based in Fulwood, Preston.

Rated 'outstanding' in February 2015, the nursery is an established setting and benefits from lovely outdoor play areas.

Staff's quality of teaching is consistently high. Consequently, children are highly motivated to learn and make excellent progress in their learning and development.

Children are cared for in a very safe, vibrant and highly challenging environment, where staff provide an excellent range of toys and resources. These are used extremely well to maximise children's learning.

Children's emotional well-being is exceedingly well supported by superb settling-in arrangements. As a result, parents and children build excellent relationships and flourish during their time at the setting.

This nursery is absolutely wonderful! They are very supportive of parents and children, they have great activities that the children love, and the facility is one of the best I’ve ever seen. They have large outdoor play areas, lots of sensory activities, and learning activities. They encourage parents
to get together for support and work closely with parents to best support the individual child’s needs. They’re incredibly helpful with forms, finding full-time schooling, and special education-based needs. I recommend this nursery highly.

My daughter has been in the nursery since 9 months old. With every room she’s been in, she’s been made to feel so welcomed and always found someone in each room that she’s managed to build a connection with. The managers are brilliant, so friendly and welcoming!

Very positive. I have had a previous child at this nursery as well as a current child. Lovely welcoming staff, caring attitudes, and excellent activities set out each day. I love the inclusion of parental activities post-nursery too so we can get to know one another. I have 2 children who are not accustomed
to being separated from me and they have managed to encourage both of them out of their shell. The meals are nutritional and varied - my children are very fussy but they eat nursery's food. I have plenty of updates on the app which is reassuring evidence that my child has been happy. On the occasions that she has been unwell or unhappy they have provided support and updates to deliver her care. I feel that the outside space is great as the smaller children have their own space from the bigger children.
I would definitely recommend Kids Planet Preston.

After my daughter's previous experience with nursery, I didn't think she would be comfortable going back into nursery, especially a completely new one but Kids Planet Preston has been absolutely phenomenal. She has been attending for around 14 months now and the progression has been amazing. She has
gained loads of confidence and has come along really well with her speech.
I would definitely recommend Kids Planet Preston to any of my friends or family looking.
A warm, comfortable, friendly atmosphere is the perfect place for any child.

Our 11-month-old has been at nursery for 3 weeks now and we couldn't be happier with our decision. The staff have been amazing at helping him to settle in and keep us well updated during the day via their app. Baby does a different 'big' activity every day but also has plenty of time for free play and
also spends time outside.
All the room staff build a relationship with our baby so he's never upset when one particular person isn't there. The meals are nutritious and we like that the menu is different every day for 4 weeks.
In our opinion, the best thing about this nursery is the people. The management are friendly and approachable and the room staff really make an effort to get to know your baby.

Outstanding nursery! I cannot recommend this nursery enough, the staff members and management are by far the most caring and helpful people you would ever want around your child. They give the children a safe environment where not only do they feel safe but where they can express themselves freely.
Sport and fitness are an important aspects in this nursery as they have Sports Coaches that encourage children to be active come rain or shine! As a parent, I feel supported and listened to when I have my concerns on certain areas of my child's development as this is crucial for the progression to Primary Education. Their policies and procedures are clear and all staff members adhere to them at all times, staff training is always up to date. My child loves being at this nursery, they feel safe and happy. I would 100% send my future children here without a doubt! Thank you Kids Planet Preston Team.

Having strong separation anxiety, we were worried about our daughter starting preschool. But thanks to the wonderful team and the very stimulating environment they provide, my little girl felt right at home. Being mothers themselves the management team understand the needs of kids and gives them the
love and care they need.
They are very loving and endearing, making the kids comfortable in their transition from home to school. My daughter loves her key workers dearly and loves it there.
Her independence has grown since and she has learned routines.
There is lots of room to play and learn, both indoors and outdoors. Kids can explore attractively set-up play areas with something for everyone. Outdoor play area is very stimulating and spacious and kids get to play outdoors almost daily. Kids from diverse ethnicities are present and get to celebrate their cultures with all.
I gladly recommend the Kids Planet Preston to anyone. And feel thankful to the friends who recommended it to me.

My daughter joined Kids Planet Preston in September and the management and their team have gone above and beyond to ensure that my daughter had a smooth, welcoming transition into the toddler room. This included providing us with regular updates via the app but also knowing that they were only a phone
call away too. Since then, we have been provided with termly updates by her key worker and given targets of how we can help to support her development too - we have also attended a recent parent's evening which was great. We’re kept up-to-date with events running at the nursery each week with the app being utilised very well. The staff have a great work ethic and go above and beyond to support my little girl in her learning and development. I’d definitely recommend Kids Planet Preston to anybody looking for a nursery for their child.

We are really happy that we chose Kids Planet Preston nursery! Our little boy started when he was around one, at first was very shy however now it’s hard to get him to come home! It’s great to know that he’s really enjoying nursery now, he’s excited to go and we can see he’s really developed whilst
he’s been with you. All the staff are amazing it’s put us at ease knowing they think as much of him as us! He is regularly out and about on walks and in their outdoor play area which is his favourite thing to do followed by running around inside causing mayhem and playing with his friends. His development in the last few months has been amazing and he comes home having learnt something new every day. You’re all amazing, thank you.

The staff at Kids Planet Preston (Tower Lane) are extremely supportive, not only with children but also with parents. They go above and beyond to support children in their varying stages of learning eg: parent workshops for toilet training. In addition to this, they bring mums together in a supportive
social environment allowing parents to meet in a safe space to communicate. They also recognise the importance of the home learning link by posting assessments, next steps and moments regularly.

We are very happy with the care our child receives. She is happy to go in each morning and she has gained so much confidence. The nursery also cares so much about the local community and the whole family, this is something I really value.

My little boy has just started at Kids Planet and they have already made me feel so much at ease with leaving him in their hands, the app is amazing and lets me see every tiny detail about his day. The nursery is about a 15-minute drive for me but it is so worth it compared to all the others near me!

It is really a wonderful experience what we are having every day from Kids Planet Preston. My son recently moved from India and has a language barrier, also I was really worried about how he would cope in the nursery with new people, language, exposure, food everything... in the beginning he was nervous
to go to nursery for the first two days and later on he is so excited. I can see the wonders he is experiencing every day in the Kids Planet when he is describing how his day was in the nursery. The main attraction I felt is that the Parent Zone app which is giving the details of how the kid is, what he eats or he refused and how he is doing all those upto date information gives me a relaxed day as a parent. Overall, all the staffs are really supportive and helpful. Kids are really enjoying the new planet where they are spending time with caring people with lots of fun.

We have two children attending this nursery who are thriving and developing all the time. The staff are lovely and welcoming and anything that is asked, advice is always given as well as them supporting what is put in place at home. Our children have such a good rapport with each staff member in their
rooms and enjoy coming to learn, particularly enjoying the outdoor learning. The app is perfect for informing us about their day as well as being told on collection. Would recommend this nursery for those looking.

This is a fantastic nursery. From the first day we went in we felt that it was a cosy and nurturing space for our little girl. All of the staff are warm and friendly and passionate about their work and the children they look after. I am updated on her activities regularly via the app and the team update
me every day on what she has been up to and how she has been with genuine interest and care. My daughter loves her nursery, is learning every day through lots of different activities and she has developed a lovely bond with all the staff. I would not hesitate in recommending this nursery.

We moved our son at 19 months old to this nursery following a bad experience at another local nursery group. It has turned out to be a blessing, his development has come on so much in such a short period of time. He has fitted straight in and absolutely loves it, so much so, he was knocking on the door
at a weekend to go in! As an outdoor boy, we love (and he does) that he gets to spend time outside every day. It is such a friendly and welcoming environment. The staff are all lovely and have been extremely supportive in settling our nerves and anxieties from the previous nursery experience. Highly recommend this nursery to everyone I speak to.

Kirsty Powell is the Nursery Manager for Kids Planet Preston. Kirsty has a Bachelor's Honours degree in Early Years and Education as well as being qualified an Early Years Professional. She has worked within the childcare industry since 2007, having been part of the Kids Planet family since 2016.
