Kids Planet Preston, formerly Newlands Nursery School, is an Ofsted Outstanding nursery based in Fulwood, Preston.

Rated 'outstanding' in February 2015, the nursery is an established setting and benefits from lovely outdoor play areas.

Staff's quality of teaching is consistently high. Consequently, children are highly motivated to learn and make excellent progress in their learning and development.

Children are cared for in a very safe, vibrant and highly challenging environment, where staff provide an excellent range of toys and resources. These are used extremely well to maximise children's learning.

Children's emotional well-being is exceedingly well supported by superb settling-in arrangements. As a result, parents and children build excellent relationships and flourish during their time at the setting.

My daughter has attended Kids Planet since she was 8 months old. She's nearly 3 now and she's absolutely thrived due to the nursery. The staff are incredibly caring and passionate about what they do. They provide a wide range of activities and different things to do and provide daily updates via an
app. The manager is fab as well and has been a real godsend over the years. I honestly couldn't recommend the nursery enough.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. The staff are brilliant with my little girl. Always friendly, always have the time to let us know how her day was. She has learnt and grown so much from being at this nursery.

My 2 daughters love this nursery and so do I. The staff are wonderful and make sure my girls feel comfortable and settled when I leave them. The staff are the heart of this nursery, so warm and welcoming, they go above and beyond imparting knowledge on them and I'm happy to leave my girls in their care.
The garden is a wonderful outdoor space and I love the fact children go out every day. They also go on local outings to the nearby park and library, I think this a great way to teach independence and my daughter loves to tell me about her adventures out of the classroom. They recently had a fire engine come to nursery, which my daughter loved and she recalls the experience whenever she sees a fire engine.
The nursery also holds events for parents, including first aid courses, which I found very helpful, and Mum's night in nights, fantastic for my mental health and connecting with other Mums. I love this nursery and will be sad to leave it when they start school.

My child has attended Kids Planet since she was 11 months old (now 2) and she absolutely loves it! She thrives at nursery and has come on so much. Each room is always really well presented and topic-focused, I’m always kept up to date on her progress and get to see lovely pictures of her on the parent
app. The staff are what make the nursery really special and all have a great relationship with my child and me. They are kind, polite, always smiling and always put the children at the centre of everything they do. They always have time for any of my questions I may have and always take the time to listen if I need any help. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

My daughter has been coming to this nursery for a few months now and has settled in well. I think she really enjoys this nursery. The staff are really friendly and caring. They post regular updates on the app which reassures me that my daughter is ok and enjoying her day. I would highly recommend this
nursery to anyone!

Both of my sons go to the nursery. Staff are very professional and courteous. They go above and beyond their role to help the children. Both of my boys are very happy and they have learnt a lot. I recommend the nursery to any parent who is looking for an excellent nursery.

This is a fab nursery and my youngest son is so happy there. My eldest also went through the nursery and I didn’t hesitate to sign up my youngest. The staff are amazing, really get to know every child and support them all as individuals. In fact, it was nursery that has helped my youngest son get help
with some developmental issues meaning that the whole process has been very easy and straightforward for me, they have taken out a lot of the stress and supported us as a family. Also, the way they have continued with his development in that time has been exceptional. They do a wide range of activities (including painting so he has “nursery clothes” now lol) and he has the best time there. We couldn’t be happier.

I can't speak highly enough about this nursery. Management are so supportive, our son adores all of the staff and we have seen him flourish in this nurturing environment. He excitedly runs in every morning which I think says it all! When we've had questions about his health/wellbeing or development

My son loves going to nursery, which is the biggest compliment we could give.
He has a terrific bond with the staff that work with him, and that is because of the care they give. We get informative feedback everyday. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming.
I struggle to find any major criticisms,
but I guess the car park could be bigger and the costs slightly less (but that would be the same at any other nursery).
I would not hesitate to recommend Kids Planet Preston to any parent!

My son really enjoys going to nursery. I love checking out the parents app to see what fun he has had and enjoy asking him what he did with his day. I know he is learning lots whilsy he plays. The nursery teachers keep me up to date with everything that is happening. They are very supportive with potty
training my son. I attended 'Mum's Night In' which was really good and a great way to meet other mums.

Kirsty Powell is the Nursery Manager for Kids Planet Preston. Kirsty has a Bachelor's Honours degree in Early Years and Education as well as being qualified an Early Years Professional. She has worked within the childcare industry since 2007, having been part of the Kids Planet family since 2016.
