YMCA Day Nursery

It is a bright and welcoming environment and the staff have been excellent in helping my little boy to settle.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery to all of my friends and family.

It's a great environment for my child to grow around others.

My son is well settled and comfortable with the other children and brilliant staff who are very open and enthusiastic about his early years education and well being in general. They have been great at communication from day one and have maintained this. The staff are friendly and kind to the children. Highly recommended.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly and the nursery has a family feel, all of my son's key workers are fantastic and my son flourishes in their care. He's come on leaps and bounds since joining the nursery. We couldn't be happier.

I am extremely happy with the level of care provided by YMCA Day Nursery. The staff were great at settling in my son, it was a difficult time, but they provided excellent support. They provide a variety of activities each day such as messy play and playing in the garden, which has helped with my son’s development. They have created a lovely environment which feels very homely and welcoming.

Perhaps share planned activities with parents in advance so they can better prepare the child. No clear learning plan in place but this could be due to communication with parents rather than lack of programme. We can support this learning at home and continue with related activities where appropriate.

My son attends YMCA daycare nursery since November 2018. From the beginning, all the staff and especially the manager, are extremely nice and patient with my son. Thanks to his key workers for doing an amazing job, he settled quickly and now he absolutely loves going to nursery every day. Recently, he has moved from a baby room to toddler room and the way the transition happened was very smooth and slow which we didn't even notice any behavioural changes at all. I really recommend YMCA daycare nursery to any parents looking for a good nursery.

My daughter has been going to YMCA Day Nursery for a year now and absolutely loves it. I couldn’t have picked a better nursery for her, she loves all the staff and talks about them outside of nursery all the time and has formed a special bond with a few. My daughter has came on heaps and bounds since attending and gains so much from her time there. The staff are all so approachable and easy to talk to, always happy to fill you in on those funny little things that your children get up to during the day. I enjoy filling them in on the naughty things she gets up to at home. Overall, I couldn’t rate them enough and I am so pleased with my choice in nursery.

Staff have been very patient with my daughter, taking the settling in process slowly and welcoming her gently into the baby room every week.

I would recommend YMCA to anyone who has little ones.

My daughter has been coming here for a year and a half and she absolutely loves it. She has learned so much, gained confidence in many areas and just has so much fun, they really care about the kids emotional and physical and educational needs are so supportive of them. I love seeing what shes been up to using their tapestry app. The nursery is great at keeping you informed on any special dates/events in good advance. They are all very friendly and happy to chat to you about any worries concerns or anything they are very supportive and informative I cant fault them I'm really sad my daughter is leaving the end of this month she will miss everyone soooo much as they are all so wonderful. The nursery itself has so much for the kids to do and learn from its great.

Lovely nursery, they have helped me a lot. My child loves going, lovely staff, really good management and really good communication.

Nursery always clean and tidy and all staff very friendly and happy.

My daughter has now been attending the YMCA nursery for 8 months. She initially struggled with separation and was very emotional during her settling in period... Morning drop-offs for some months thereafter were difficult for her but the staff were extremely supportive in managing this transition, and by having access to the Tapestry app I was reassured that she was enjoying her time whilst at the nursery. She has now built close bonds with the team and loves going to nursery.

The confidence my daughter has gained during the past 3 months especially has been astounding and her development is thriving.

I would most definitely recommend the nursery to friends and look forward to seeing my daughter grow as she continues to attend over the next couple of years.

My daughter has attended the YMCA nursery for around 6 months now and absolutely loves it!

The facilities are great and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

They have lots going on with regular trips to the main YMCA building for classes like yoga and integrating with the older generation for lessons and fun with healthy living. They also have trips to their own allotment which the kids love!

Amazing nursery! My daughter has settled in really well. All the team are so welcoming and great with the children and I couldn't be happier with the progress my daughter has made since joining four months ago.

The staff at the YMCA Day Nursery, North Shields are so friendly, and due to their kind, warm and welcoming approach my daughter who initially was very upset to be left in an unfamiliar place, is now happy to be going and has formed a great bond with her keyworkers.

As parents, my partner and I think it’s a great nursery and are impressed with how much has been done in such a short space of time.

Would definitely recommend.

Our Grandson was very reluctant to go and stay at nursery and we thought he would never settle but his key worker told us he has never had a child that would not settle. I smiled and said you have now, but how wrong I was, with the help and perseverance of his other key workers, my Grandson now cannot wait to get to nursery to see everybody. He now hangs up his coat, gives us a kiss and a waves goodbye and he is set for the day. Also, he has some complicated heart problems, which the team have just taken in there stride and kept him on his routine with his medication. All in all, the whole team are all doing a fantastic job and I'm sure at times staff need a medal for coping with him, as he is quite demanding of peoples time. We could not recommend a better nursery in North Shields than the YMCA. A big thank you guys for doing such a fantastic job.

My boy has come on great since nursery. His language is developing and especially that he also speaks Portuguese. Staff are lovely and helpful. Thank you!
