The setting also offers both term-time only and full-time places and up to 30 hours of early years funding.

The environment is second to none. The purpose-built Nursery has direct access to dedicated outdoor space and the wider school grounds beyond, with sweeping views across the South Downs. Flooded with natural light, the Nursery provides a truly wonderful, bespoke space for exploration, creation and discovery through play, without limits.

The staff are highly trained, passionate and experienced, committed to providing the highest standards of care and education in a welcoming, homely atmosphere. The nursery is an amazing place for your children to learn, grow and be engaged in all aspects of nursery life.
The colleagues are great with the children, plenty of daily activities inside and importantly outside.
Nothing but praise for the nursery!

My son attends Cumnor Nursery 5 days a week and enjoys it so much that he can't wait to get there in the mornings. The staff have created such a caring, safe and encouraging environment for the children. The days are varied and include a wide range of activities such as music, PE, swimming, dance, forest
school and cooking. The resources inside the nursery are first-class and support play and learning. My son has developed a lovely bond with both the staff and the children who attend. The setting is clean, light and airy and there is so much outside space for exploring. Can't recommend enough!

Cumnor Nursery can only be described as excellent.
The care and attention my son has received since starting there has been brilliant. They offer lovely home made hot meals, great facilities (including swimming, dance, specialist music time, along with many others) and a great place to enrich developing
minds to want to learn the key basics ready for school.
I would recommend Cumnor Nursery to anyone.

I work full time so my child is at nursery from 8 - 6, 5 days a week. I have watched my child flourish and grow is such an amazing setting, which is down the the amazing group of staff running it. My child’s week is filled with dance, music, swimming, forest school, cooking, PE, crafts, as well as
getting school ready with numbers and letters. I am always kept up to date with what has happened through the day in a detailed diary and photos which is so valuable as I am able to see how she is progressing. I have had a child at another good nursery but when comparing it to Cumnor Nursery it does not come close on any level. I have a little girl that jumps out of bed in the morning excited and full of enthusiasm about going to nursery! Thank you!

My son adores his time at this nursery. Staff are very friendly and experienced. The setting is ideal with lots of access to a range of outdoor activities as well as an up to date and stimulating stand-alone nursery building. There’s a huge breadth of activities and I feel that staff very much tailor
these to the needs of the children.

I couldn't be happier with the care my son receives at Cumnor. Not only is the building exceptional - light, airy and spacious, and filled with every activity, toy and resource a parent could hope for, but the staff who work there go above and beyond, every day, to make sure the children are happy,
safe, stimulated and inspired. Being attached to a prep school means that the children have access to acres of land, to high-end resources such as music departments, sports halls, and swimming pools, as well as activities run by subject specialists, that they wouldn't have access to in a regular nursery. Our son runs happily into nursery every day and has done so since his very first settling in session. The school have also taken his medical condition very seriously and are trained in his care, administering the necessary medicine and monitoring his health, using specialist medical equipment. The peace of mind - knowing I can go to work, and he can be expertly cared for - is priceless.

My son has been at Cumnor for nearly two terms and I have been so impressed with the staff, facilities and activities on offer. In my opinion, their level of professionalism is second to none and the care and attention he receives from all the staff has really brought out the best in him. The Head of
Nursery is absolutely fantastic and really knows her stuff. Whenever I talk to the staff, I can tell they truly know him inside out and genuinely care about his needs and development. He isn't just another three year old they look after, but his own person with his own interests and abilities and they are 100 per cent committed to bringing out the best in him. They are also very flexible with sessions and I've never had any difficulties booking him in with short notice. It's a real gem.

An excellent nursery - very high standards of education for nursery level, which I suppose is to be expected as part of a school. Staff are professional and friendly and make great strides to prepare the children for their next move into full-time school. Our daughter loves attending the nursery.

Both my wife and I are very happy with Cumnor Nursery. Not only do they have amazing facilities, they also have a very strong and caring team that always gives for the best care to our little one. In addition to this, the children are always doing activities both in and outdoors, and parents are constantly
being updated by staff through the app.
As parents, we have seen a massive improvement in the development of our child, both socially and intellectually.
The menus are also very well planned and our son loves the food given to him, this being one of the highlights of the day when we pick him up.
We could not be happier. A massive thank you to everyone at Cumnor House Nursery.

Cumnor Nursery offers the most amazing facilities being attached to the prep school, this means that our daughter has the benefit to explore woods and fields every day and the creative freedom that, that brings with it, as well as the stimulation of senses and natural curiosity to explore and learn
that continues to develop. The team behind the running of the nursery provide a nurturing, warm, fun and safe environment for all the children with just enough structure to make the children feel secure but not restricted. My daughter gets to learn without realising that she is and she's enthused about what she's been doing that day every time I pick her up.
The nursery is a great space, plenty of natural light and space as well as a secure outdoor area that they can roam into on sunny days or when they're not in the fields or woods. The team have also catered very well for my daughters very fussy eating.
I really recommend that you take a look.

My son simply LOVES this nursery and all it has to offer. He runs to nursery every morning and I can barely persuade him to go home at the end of the day. The minute we come home, he says - Mama, can I go to nursery please? The teachers are amazing, caring, fun, professional and loving. There is a huge
range of activities on a daily basis - dancing, PE, swimming, forest school, exposure to pre-prep and reception assemblies, lots of sensory play, art, beautiful outside area and what a view. Can't recommend this nursery enough.

Our daughter only attends sessions at Cumnor Nursery one day a week, but even so, she absolutely loves going there and clearly feels recognised and at home. The staff are lovely, the premises are brand new and the nursery has the most stunning views. I love knowing that they spend a lot of time outdoors,
and my daughter especially enjoys the regular dance lessons. I have recommended it to many friends who have children at nurseries in Haywards Heath. It's a little bit further out of town, but definitely worth the extra minutes in the car!

I moved my 2 children from another nursery in Haywards Heath to Cumnor in Sept 2018 so they have more space to play and more time outdoors. As a result, they've never been happier! They now get to do things like swimming, try new instruments in the music barn, practice dance in the studio and play in
the mud kitchen in the woods on the particular days that they attend. We have the option to do term time only and also an option to finish at a variety of different times. We couldn't be happier with the nursery, staff, facilities and nutrition.

My daughter has had a wonderful time at Cumnor nursery. Her days have been full of fun and learning new things. She has been given so many opportunities to grow in confidence in an extremely caring environment. The space is perfect for little ones to inspire their imaginations with so many resources
to use so everyone can play with something they love. The lunches are delicious offering a balanced meal, lots of lovely snacks throughout the day and my daughter has enjoyed making and baking their own. All of the staff involved, from those in the nursery and around the school, are so welcoming and thoughtful. I could not recommend it more highly and will be very sad when she no longer goes.

My child has been here for almost a year and has developed brilliantly socially. His speech which is definitely a little slower than his contemporaries is improving greatly. The range of activities provided, and the facilities are second to none. From dancing to swimming and endless grounds to run around
(supervised)
He runs into the nursery and has not wanted to go in. The staff are kind, supportive and most importantly understand the importance of being little and really engage with each child as an individual. I feel blessed to have such an incredible nursery and have no hesitation in recommending.

Our daughter has been at Cumnor Nursery from Caterpillars to Butterflies and has loved her time there. She is naturally quite shy, but we have seen her confidence grow in leaps and bounds, and on a daily basis comes homes with stories of adventures about the school. It's a hugely inclusive environment
with amazing facilities, and the teachers are constantly engaged in the children's development. We are quite stunned with her drawing and writing, and she loves her time either dancing, swimming, baking or heading out across the school grounds to explore. Cumnor Nursery without a shadow of doubt has bought the best out in our daughter, and we are very grateful to a great team of teachers, helpers and students who have brought her on this journey and given her fun and enjoyable start to her education.

My son has thrived at Cumnor. From day one, the kind and thoughtful nature of the staff along with their nurturing care have given me absolute peace of mind that he is in the right place. The setting itself is exceptional, the light and airy main building as well as the playing fields and woods, perfect
for children to explore, learn and grow. The children get to swim, cook, dance and do music too. But most importantly, my son loves it. I couldn't be happier, the nursery is excellent in every way.

Our daughter has been attending Cumnor nursery for the last eight months. In this time we have seen her confidence shine through. She has become quite the independent little girl, with her verbal and numerical skills excelling.
She comes home with stories of the adventures she has been on that day,
from attending woodpeckers (the classroom in the vast woods), to stories she has been told by the wonderful teachers.
She runs in in the morning and rarely looks back.
A wonderful nursery in the most wonderful setting.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.869)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.869) out of 10 for Cumnor Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.994 for Cumnor Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (179 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 180 Ratings = 4.994
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cumnor Nursery is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
