It was very hard for me personally to send my daughter to nursery as I had never left her before, but everyone in the babies room was so so kind and patient with us taking time to reassure both myself and my daughter; we were allowed additional settling in sessions, which helped so much. My daughter
is from a dual language family, and the nursery often asks for translations of words and songs, which I just find outstanding to support my daughter. Also, a huge thank you to my daughter's key worker, who is an angel, honestly looks after my daughter so well and keeps me at ease!

My son has been attending all three rooms of the nursery, and l was happy with the care he was getting in all of them. He learned so much in there, and l know for sure that there are some skills he still wouldn't get from the family if he didn't go to The Old Station Nursery.

My husband and I are extremely pleased with this choice of nursery care for our son.
The staff have formed a strong bond and attend to his needs and development very well. In such a short time, our son has made great progress in all areas of his development, and we couldn’t be happier as we know he
wouldn’t experience the same outcome from being at home. I am always well informed about my child’s day and information from management is always clear, thorough and concise. As first-time parents, we were well supported both with our son and our needs too. Overall, highly recommended and please see for yourself.

The very friendly staff always happy to help, always go above and beyond to accommodate every child.

Even during the covid, they have strived to enrich the children's learning experience where ever possible. These are people who care about what they do.

My son has been attending The Old Station Nursery now for around 18 months and he loves it! He has various medical and developmental issues and all of the staff go above and beyond to give him the help and care that he needs. If any of the staff do not understand my son's needs, there is always someone
there to explain how to handle and deal with him and put him at ease! The manager is absolutely amazing. She is approachable, lovely and so caring towards all the children and parents. During this pandemic, she has put everyone's mind at ease with all the safety procedures they have in place to make sure our children are kept safe. My son's key worker is also brilliant, my son absolutely adores her. She always goes out of her way to make sure he is comfortable and she is lovely to speak to at pick up time, she informs me of everything he has done that day and he always leans in for a cheeky cuddle from her before he leaves! I would highly recommend The Old Station Nursery to anyone!

Our son has only been with the setting for a few weeks, already we are very pleased with the service we have received.

The manager was extremely helpful and welcoming upon registration, all the staff are very friendly and also welcoming, together with all the children that already attend.

Our

son moved daycare providers due to medical issues needing to be closer to home and nothing has been a problem. He has settled in incredibly well, we are all very happy, we highly recommend this setting to anyone.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.892) out of 10 for The Old Station Nursery Heyford is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for The Old Station Nursery Heyford is calculated as follows: ( (209 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 228 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Old Station Nursery Heyford is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 number of registered child places is 12.8, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
