The Old Station Nursery Heyford stands out as the only setting in the area that offers childcare all year round. The nursery comprises of three rooms, each with age-appropriate resources and activities, and a spacious, secure garden area. Babies have their own warm and comfortable space, where they can explore and learn at their own pace, with access to soft play equipment, mirrors, musical instruments, and various other toys.

Babies proceed to the Tots' room, where they can experience more structured activities and learning opportunities. Children at around 3 years old progress to the Pre-School room, where activities revolve around their interests, and includes support in the to preparation for their next stage of education.

The nursery's ample outdoor space provides plenty of room for children to socialise, play and engage in exploratory activities with their friends. Additionally, the Heyford Park community offers numerous activities for children to enjoy.

I am beyond impressed with the nursery. The food provided is not only nutritious but also diverse, introducing him to a variety of flavours and healthy eating habits. The learning opportunities are exceptional, fostering his curiosity and encouraging exploration in a safe and supportive environment.
Most importantly, my son is genuinely happy there, evident from his excitement every morning and his eagerness to share his day's adventures when he comes home. It's heartwarming to see him develop both academically and emotionally while being surrounded by caring and dedicated staff. I couldn't be more grateful for the positive impact this nursery has had on my son's early years.

Wonderfully caring staff with far less turnover than other nurseries seem to experience; the opportunity for our child and us to build a long-term bond with staff has been wonderful. We love the focus on outdoor activity and exercise, alongside creative crafts and quieter tasks. Handovers are always
thorough and staff obviously have a high level of knowledge of children as individuals. The admin team are always hugely helpful when we've needed extra care.

My son has been at The Old Station Nursery for almost two years and absolutely loves coming. We are so fortunate to have found a nursery with caring staff, offers meaningful learning and supports our family. We will be really sad when he has to leave for school.

My son started at the beginning of February at Heyford, and since he started the staff at the nursery have been absolutely amazing, nothing is too much hassle and they are always so happy and welcoming.

Our child has been attending The Old Station Nursery Heyford (full-time, term-time) for 3 years. The nursery itself is lovely and our child enjoys his time there. Handovers at the start and end of the day are thorough and don't feel rushed, and any worries have always been addressed quickly and fully
by staff. I would feel very comfortable recommending the individual nursery to friends and family.
However, during the three years we have been with The Old Station Nursery group, the company has grown significantly which we have felt has impacted negatively on customers. Communication is poor (e.g., 2023-2024 term dates weren't released to parents until August - less than one month before the start of the autumn term); additional service charges on funded places are not fully accounted for (e.g., £20 per day for 'enhancements' that are not clearly defined); and frequent changes to invoicing/billing systems are confusing. Multiple fee increases also mean that a preschool session costs us 30% more than the baby room session did.

Since our daughter joined The Old Station Nursery Heyford, we have seen her grow in confidence and develop wonderfully. The nursery is a lovely little setting and the staff caring for the children are great. There is little flexibility over extra care and this is one of the things that hasn't helped us in our childcare and work life.

A great nursery for the basic needs of children, the staff has a genuine passion for working with kids. The staff are very patient, warming and welcoming to the children, making a fun environment for children to play and learn.

We have now been with this nursery for over a year and it has been a true delight. The staff have been very attentive since the beginning and our daughter started in Tots and has now progressed to Pre-School. During this period staff of both Tots and Pre-School have been brilliant and provided a warm,
welcoming and educational environment for her to thrive within. In addition, the administration team of the nursery are very helpful and always happy to offer support with any queries we've had. All in all, I would highly recommend this to any other parents in the local area and if I could rate this higher, I gladly would!

Our son attends the preschool here and has really started to enjoy it. The staff are great at encouraging the children and have helped him feel a bit more confident (not very easy as he can be quiet in these sort of settings!) Staff are friendly and really seem to care about the children, they are happy
to chat and update parents at the pick up time. I really like how they always try and get some time for the children outside too, they’re often out in the garden when I go to pick up my son and it’s lovely to see the children enjoying the space and fresh air! Can’t fault anything and really pleased we got a space here!

The Old Station Nursery Heyford has been fantastic for my daughter. She started in March 2022 in babies and is now in Tots. The staff are really amazing and keep you updated on anything that arises. My little girl is currently potty training and they have been so helpful with it all especially since
I’m a first time mum and not sure what I’m doing most of the time. Their support has been great. Would not hesitate recommending to anyone!

Superb nursery with lovely staff. My child is very happy and is always pleased to go in and seems very content at the end of the day. I would recommend the Tots room at the nursery highly to any parent.

They have been so great with my son. His speech has come on so much since starting nursery. He's learning to share, his key worker is especially lovely and always great at handovers but all staff are welcoming and always on hand to help with anything.

My little girl started nursery back in February. As a small child coming out of the pandemic, she was extremely shy and not very confident in social situations. Since she has been attending sessions at the nursery, she has developed beautifully. She is honestly like a different child and this is down
to the ladies at the Old Station nursery. They are super friendly and supportive. They have encouraged my little girl in all aspects of nursery life. So much so, that she loves and can't wait for nursery days. The ladies keep me well informed about her development with photos, reviews and face-to-face chats. The facilities are excellent. Lots of space to get creative and run off steam. Fresh meals daily. Help and encouragement with potty training. Overall, I would definitely recommend this nursery!

The team is amazing and we can tell they all really care about our baby and their development. Our child started from a very young age, so we feel like nursery has been there for a lot of her key stages. They've helped us with weaning and really encouraged her with her crawling. They're constantly looking
to aid in the children's development. We really love the staff there! I feel safe and happy having my child there while I'm at work. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Sending my child to nursery was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do as I absolutely loved spending all my time with him and watching him grow. but after seeing how well he has been doing and all the things he’s learning and his confidence growth towards other children and adults, I feel a lot better
and know he’s In good safe hands. I absolutely love how I receive photos of my little one during some of his activities and him bringing home his first-ever art piece to put on my fridge was lovely. I’d like to thank all the team there for doing such an amazing job.

An amazing nursery where both of my children have thrived with wonderful staff taking great care of them. A family feel, with great food, management and the boys' key worker each time has been the best we could wish for.

Hello, I'm Heather and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Heyford.


We have a really great new building on the airfield at Heyford Park, with room to play and explore. Families travel to the nursery on foot and by car, from local houses and further afield from nearby villages. All are welcome
