Hatching Dragons Nursery Westminster

Our son has been at Hatching Dragons for about 6 months now, and it has been so lovely watching him grow under the guidance of the nursery. We originally chose Hatching Dragons because we really wanted a bilingual nursery, but it quickly became apparent that we were also putting him in a nursery with the most amazing staff. We do not have any family in London, so the nursery became our son's second home. We have loved all the care and attention everyone has given to our son and we can tell that everyone is there because they truly love working with children. Our son has learned so much through the nursery's many activities - from sensory exploration through messy play to physical exploration at parks, and of course, Mandarin with the nursery's Mandarin speaking staff. We also love the digital diary they provide, which allows us to quickly get daily updates, as well as skills progression, on our son. We would highly recommend this nursery!

My daughter has been attending Hatching Dragons since Oct 2018. She attends the morning sessions five days a week and has developed close relationships with the other children at the nursery as well as the staff members (all of whom she adores).

Her language skills have improved dramatically, thanks in part to the warm and professional people at the nursery - she tries to converse with her Chinese grandmother in Mandarin (to her grandmother's delight) despite us not speaking Mandarin at home.

The nursery is very engaged with the parents and we get regular/daily feedback (and photos). Both the facilities and the staff are wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend them to other parents. Note that (like many other nurseries we visited) Hatching Dragons does not have a dedicated outside space, but the staff take the children out to the nearby parks and playgrounds.

Overall I love the nursery and staff and I think they do an amazing job there!

Our child likes this school very much. The teachers are very kind and take care of all the children very well. We like this school as well and we would like to thank all the teachers.

Our daughter is full time and on a daily basis, we see the changes in her development and the enjoyment she has at the nursery. The staff are very approachable and you can see the love they have for the children and the children have with them.

All the children interact with each other which we see as a benefit to our daughter. She is looking at what the older children are doing and trying to copy, which we see aids her development.

The nursery has no outside space but this is countered by daily visits to several different parks within a short distance from the nursery. To us this more than compensates for not having a dedicated space.

We felt like we've joined a big family since the first day. The teachers are all very friendly and my daughter has learnt so much since then. We would like to stay longer.

Hatching Dragons Westminster is a happy, friendly nursery that both my children (aged 2 and 10 months) love going to. They are so fond of all the staff who are very kind to them and show so much care and enthusiasm for their wellbeing and development. Every day the kids are taken out to the park to play and run around and they are fed healthy food and snacks. I feel like my children have picked up a lot of skills and come home with improved language after being at nursery and my son is always excited to tell me about the different activities they have done, such as messy play, building towers, singing songs. I'm delighted we found this community and would recommend the nursery to anyone.

We still remember the first time we dropped off our child at Hatching Dragon Westminster. We were surely nervous, we weren't sure if he'd like it if the staff would treat him well or do they just treat it like a job. We started off putting him there on a 3 full days a week, but soon enough we realised that he enjoys being there much more than being at home and hence we have increased his hours to full time. His key person has done an exceptional job and I can see that they treat not only him, but indeed all their children with their hearts, love and professionalism. I remember one day, he was rather itchy and I suggested to give him antihistamines. Surely it's an easy enough task for them to do, but instead, they asked why we think he needs it and asked if we are okay for them to observe a little while and provide it to him if he actually needs it. It showed that all staff at Hatching Dragon Westminster are not only professional but they try their best to provide the best for these toddlers.

We love the online updates. We get daily diaries and frequent development updates. It’s great to hear what he’s been up to during the day and know exactly what hours he slept to help with bedtime etc. It’s really reassuring. In terms of improvement, even more, and better quality photos would be great (can never get enough photos!) Also my son loves the food, but it would be amazing to get more Chinese food served for them!

Very good experience to date. My daughter is clearly thriving in this environment. All the staff are very approachable and we know she is in excellent hands. We enjoy reading her progress in the online daily diary, although sometimes the photos are very blurry.

I've had my one year old here since she was about six months. She absolutely loves it, and we get excited every day when it's time for drop-off and pick-up. The staff have all been so kind. It feels like a family and seems like the staff really enjoy spending time with the children. They send photo updates through the mobile app, daily updates and they track developmental progress. They invite parents for holiday parties with the children and there are always interesting sensory activities, games, and crafts. The bilingual program is great and my baby started speaking both Mandarin and English words with us at home. The only downside I could say is there is no attached outside space. Some parent friends have said that that's important to them, but I'm okay without it because the location is so convenient and they take the children to a nearby park every day. The quality of care and fun crafts and developmental activities makes up for it in my opinion. Highly recommend!
