The Butterfly Patch provides excellent childcare to little ones aged 3 months to 5 years over 51 weeks of the year. Their long hours are suited to all families as they are open from 7:30am to 6:30pm, offering full days, AM and PM sessions.

They strive to provide outstanding care and education for your little ones in their precious early years with the support from carefully selected trained and passionate staff.

The Butterfly Patch consists of three rooms;

Glittering Glow Bugs for children aged 3 months to 2 years (with a separate sleep room)

Creative Caterpillars for children 2 to 3.5 years

Bouncing Butterflies for pre-school children

They have a free-flow garden for toddlers and a free-flow garden for preschoolers, as well as taking their little ones on outings at least once a week.

During outings, they explore local amenities such as the florist, library and supermarkets, and also explore the woods and parks nearby.

The Butterfly Patch boasts a sensory room in which all the children can experience a mellow and intriguing atmosphere in small groups of 3 or 4 children.

This is a fantastic learning opportunity for children of all ages to explore using their senses. They also offer extracurricular activities such as a drama and dance class, karate and baby sensory.

Finally, a good grub programme ensures fresh, healthy brain food is offered to children each day. Taking part in the mayor on London's scheme Healthy Early Year London

Let me start by saying how wonderful this nursery is. My son started in May 2018 aged 2 and he has really come a long way. I returned to work and was fully supported by all the staff as it was the first time I had left my son with anyone other than family. The nursery has been a great support to my
son in his development and the staff always let me know what progress he is making and what he has done throughout the day. The staff are amazing with the kids and I especially love it here because of the intimate environment. You don’t have to worry that your child will be lost in a sea of children as it’s a smaller setting. Ideal for children at a young age. The children do lots of different activities throughout the day and the parent app is always updated while your child is there, so you get a snippet of what your offspring is up to. Management here is great too. Always on the ball and at hand to support you with your child in any way they can. My son is very happy here.

Since my daughter started in March after leaving a previous nursery she has made a lot of progress in her speech, knowing her colours and her alphabet. And she is really enjoying going to nursery, every day she looks forward to seeing her key worker and the other staff. The staff's ability to connect
the children, the setting is amazing, they really take the time to get to know your kids. The staff are very friendly and approachable and take great pride in providing the best care possible for you no matter their need.

The Butterfly Patch, Croydon is the best, very friendly staff. They help my son with everything. Because he has special needs was not a problem for staff to care for my son, they help him more and my son is very happy when is at nursery.

My daughter has been at Butterfly Patch since it opened, literally she, alongside my friend's daughter, were the only children there and it’s been a year later and my daughter still attends. All rooms are full and the atmosphere is amazing! After the Christmas break my daughter ran from the car and
ran into nursery she missed it that much! All staff are amazing and friendly and I love that I receive messages, pictures or videos throughout the day whilst my daughter is there and I am at work. They do so much creative and fun stuff with the kids, I am certainly happy that I chose Butterfly Patch as my daughter's nursery.

My son has been attending The Butterfly Patch nursery since he was 9 months. He is now 18 months and he loves nursery. In the beginning, he found settling hard due to not being at home with me. The nursery staff were amazing, on taking on my suggestions and ideas which allowed him to settle fairly quickly.
The communication between nursery and myself is brilliant, especially with the use of the online eylog, where I get regular updates on activities he is doing. When I drop my son off sometimes, he doesn't even say bye. He is so excited to be at nursery and with his friends. I'm happy with the progress he has made whilst being there. He is a lot more independent and this translates into the home environment. I would definitely recommend this nursery, especially if your child is starting at a young age.

All the staff at Butterfly Patch are very professional, friendly and provide the best care for my daughter. I have no reservations about leaving my daughter in the care of this nursery and would highly recommend to all other families who are looking for childcare. My daughter was the first child to
attend this nursery when they first opened, she runs in daily with the biggest smile. I am pleased with all she has learnt through the different actives the nursery provide. Thanks again to all at Butterfly Patch for their professionalism and high standards of childcare. 100% recommend to all!

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2018

I started my child care career when I finished school in 2009. I studied for two years at college whilst obtaining experience in a day nursery as part of my qualification I completed my experience in offered me a permanent role.


Throughout my time I was given may different role which allowed my growth within the company including becoming the SENCO, Behaviour officer, room leader and third in charge. I worked with a range of children who had extremely complex needs giving me the experience of working closely with parents/carers and outside agencies.
During this time I also completed my Level 5 leadership and management in children and young people's services. I completed this course to help me further my career to management in child care.


In March 2015 I moved to Egypt for 12 months to work in a nursery. During this time I worked with a range of different families of cultures from around the world. I implemented the Early Years Foundation Stage ethos into the setting and was amazed to see how the children excelled and how much our families responded to the approach.


I returned back to the UK in April 2016 I became a manager of a brand new nursery. I was finally able to put all of my experience and knowledge into full practice. In this setting I achieved a "Good" Ofsted grade and continues to support the nursery and to staff to their full potential. I thrived of seeing not only the staff learn new things but the children excelling and being supported by such loving, caring and nurturing staff.


In November 2017 I decided that it was time to spread my wings, I had worked for the same company for my whole child care career in the UK and it was time to move on. This is when I found The Butterfly Patch.


I joined The Butterfly Patch in February 2018 - Our doors weren't even open. I took pride in helping to set up what is now a beautiful, inspiring and nurturing nursery and company.
Children are at the heart of everything we do, children’s welfare and safeguarding is central to all of our decision making. Our staff feel valued and supported from management.

Seema Phillips

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I have been working with children for over 20 years, starting out as an apprentice and working my way through to nursery manager. During this time, I have qualified as a Nursery Nurse (0 to 5 years), and I have completed a BA (Hons) in my Early Years. I have worked both UK and abroad and have a passion for seeing the children strive.


I believe that all children deserve to have a safe, enabling environment to learn and grow in. This is what we strive every day to provide here at the Butterfly Patch.


Outside of work, I love to bake, I am the Youth Department Leader of The Healing Church of God in Christ in Paddington and I've recently started to cycle (when the weather is good).
