Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Chalfont St Peter

Friendly members of staff who are always keen to accommodate for your child/children. My twins started at 9 months and only took 3 weeks to fully settle in with the help of the lovely staff. We get updates on their daily routine whilst in the nursery as well as weekly updates with photos of what the children have been up to. Activities seem really fun and interest them. They always seem to be so excited when going to nursery and we can see how happy they are when we collect them at the end of the day. They have learnt a lot by attending Hungry Caterpillars Chalfont St Peter. Three members of staff in particular have been great, they have definitely exceeded our expectations.

I have nothing but praise for this outstanding nursery. The manager is a very kind and accommodating manager and the environment is homely, stimulating and inspiring for the children. The best thing however is the dedicated, hard-working and incredibly nurturing staff. My daughter has been there for the last three years and has bonded so well with all her key workers through the different rooms. I wish I had another child just to stay in touch with them all.

The love for our children is so fierce and so strong that leaving them with other people can be hard. Our son has been at Hungry Caterpillar, Chalfont St Peter, for almost 6 months now. We feel so truly blessed to have such a contented comfort knowing he is there in their wonderful hands. We moved house and area, so lots of change for our family. We worried we’d never find a nursery as brilliant as our last one - but now feel so happy that Hungry Caterpillar feels totally the right fit. His key workers are exceptional. The most wonderful people. We feel so grateful and so happy with where he is. The communication is fantastic, the app is constantly updated so we feel in the loop and included in what he gets up to. The kindness and professionalism of all the staff there (across all rooms, not just our experience of the baby room) are outstanding. The nurturing care, the exciting activities and all the opportunities to learn and develop are endless. It’s one in a million!

My daughter has had a fantastic experience at the Hungry Caterpillar Nursery in Chalfont St Peter, significantly enhanced by the nurturing staff. One staff member in particular's warmth and kindness have made a notable difference, helping my daughter feel secure and excited about her nursery days. The engaging learning activities have sparked her curiosity, which provides a stimulating environment, making her nursery experience exceptionally positive.

We are confident that they are well cared for and that the staff genuinely care about the development and well-being of the children.

I have been so happy having my daughter at Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery. My daughter has come on such a lot and she thoroughly enjoys it. I have found that the staff (especially the manager) have been hugely supportive and sensitive to making sure my daughter has been supported after bereavement. They have put in place several measures to make things comfortable for us both, for which I am hugely grateful. I will be sad to see her leave when she starts school in September.

What a wonderful nursery! Our daughter loves attending and is so happy there. She often sprints up to her favourite practitioners at drop off, which is always a joy to see. The facilities are modern, clean and bright and the staff (management and nursery team) are always welcoming. The nursery is very secure, which was at the top of our priorities when choosing a setting. One of the best things about the nursery is the updates we receive via the app about our daughter’s day (food, naps and etc.), as well as the in-depth progression reports. You can tell the staff are really invested in the children’s development. They offer a lovely selection of activities for the children to do, including sessions run by external companies, and always make an effort to invite parents in on special occasions. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery.

Two of our children have attended the nursery over the years, and we have always found it to be a happy supportive environment for them. The staff show a high degree of care and both our son and daughter have enjoyed the lovely range of activities and engaging with the practitioners and their peers. Our kids have learnt loads from the setting and they come home smiling each day!

We’ve had both our children at the nursery for the past 2 years and are generally very happy. The setting, across all age rooms, is lovely. Lots of light, decorated in a colourful, tasteful, inspiring way. The staff are extremely friendly, whilst professional and on it. They keep us regularly updated with our children’s progress and general well-being within the setting. I’d highly recommend this nursery. Prices have gone up massively, but sadly this seems to be the case at all nurseries around this area.

Very comprehensive reports produced - some of the observations have been interesting and some surprising and probably worthy of discussion.

I would highly recommend it as being a well-run and caring organisation.

The communication from the nursery and in depth reviews from the key worker is why I'm leaving a review. The last report on my grandchild showed the key worker 'knew' her incredibly well. The happy way my grandchild talks about her days at the nursery, and what she's done etc is lovely to hear, especially counting in French! Anytime I have needed to call or visit the nursery, the staff have always been cheerful and helpful. The best review is that my grandchild is happy to go there.

Both of my daughters have attended Hungry Caterpillar Day nursery at Chalfont St Peter, so we’ve been using their services since the day they opened. It’s a beautiful nursery, with excellent facilities and well-thought-out activities for the children each day. The team at Hungry Caterpillar are diligent, caring and really ‘on it’. We’ve enjoyed our association with the nursery for almost 6 long years and have always been delighted with them.

I am very happy with Hungry Caterpillar-Chalfont St Peter, my child has had a fantastic experience there. She was shown so much love and care when she joined as a 1 yr old in the baby room, the staff welcomed her and she settled very quickly. She then moved to the toddler room and the transition was handled with such kindness and sensitivity, she cannot wait to go to nursery in the mornings! She is now receiving a lot of educational stimulation in the toddler room and I can see her skills developing weekly.

We adore Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery Chalfont St Peter. We didn’t know what sending our baby to nursery would be like but the staff care so much about her - it’s better than we could have ever expected. We know she is so safe and stimulated and she is developing so much. We couldn’t recommend it more highly.

She has the best time.

My child has flourished in the nursery, from learning, activities and creative play. I really like the focus on teaching children to be independent in readiness for school. I would recommend this nursery.

Overall a great experience in a tough industry. We find the staff to be very helpful and the settling of our one year old has been brilliant. The space is clean and well-maintained. Areas for children are looked after very well and provide a safe environment for play and learning.

I found the whole experience delightful. I had an opportunity to take my grandson to the nursery each day and was so impressed by the standard of care that it offered. What a fantastic environment for little ones to learn through play.

My daughter previously attended Hungry Caterpillar Day Nursery - Chalfont St Peter and now our son attends four days a week and we cannot rate it more highly. We have experienced all three rooms from babies, toddlers to preschool and the level of care and experience of the whole team are fantastic. The images shared with us each day of the different sensory activities, story time, garden activities and role play that they take part in are wonderful and our little boy clearly has such a busy and fun-filled week! He is a very busy, energetic boy, so the variety of toys and activities, as well as regular access to their gorgeous garden area is perfect for him. Our son talks a lot at home about his carers and his little friends, which for us is a sign of how much he enjoys his time there. Despite the challenges of Covid-19, the team have worked really hard to ensure a safe and happy environment for the children and we would without a doubt recommend to anyone looking for a nursery place in the local area.
