After the first look around by the lovely manager, I knew this was the perfect nursery for my little boy. The only way I can describe this nursery is as a retreat for the children. Everything has an earthy/nature-like element with the activities both indoors and outdoors. They play tranquil music for
the children and the meals are absolutely amazing.
Since starting, my child has been supported every step of the way and is starting to settle really well with his key worker and other children within his setting. I am at ease knowing he is learning, having fun and feeling safe at The Old School House, I would definitely recommend it to other parents looking for a nursery that offers something a little bit different but personal to your child and their needs. The staff are always around with any queries and I’m updated throughout the day about what my child is up to.
They even have a coffee cart outside which helps with those early mornings!

There is so much to write about how wonderful this nursery is.
It's been nothing but great from the start, beginning with the lovely manager making us feel most welcome and reassuring us on every level, which is great when leaving your little one for the very first time, she really is a great asset
to the nursery, always happy and helpful nothing is ever a problem, she's just very caring and my grandson thinks she's lovely.
My grandson's key worker is again reassuring us with my grandson's nursery updates daily, she takes time to care and listen to any worries you may have when my grandson's unsettled, assuring us he's been happy and settled.
Both the key workers really are golden, as I'm sure the rest of the staff are, the nursery is a wonderful little haven for all children to enjoy, learn and play.
When we ask my grandson who his friends are at nursery he says his key workers.

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was eight months old and is turning three in January. She has thrived throughout the whole time; she amazes me every day with what she learns and how she knows how to do certain things. The staff are nothing but amazing - they support you through everything.
They've helped through milestones and supported my decisions with potty training and not having a dummy anymore, which made the whole process easier. My daughter is always happy to go to the nursery and loves all of the staff. All in all, I couldn't recommend this nursery more! It's so unique and so different in so many amazing ways. It's not your standard average nursery; it's so, so, so much more. I promise you won't be disappointed. Im so glad I chose this as the place for my child - there are closer nurseries to me, but I prefer to travel 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back for a reason.

Since my daughter had her little girl, we viewed quite a few nurseries and couldn't find the right one until we viewed The Old School House. It's so unique and in such a beautiful setting with a homely feel to it. My granddaughter has really come out of her shell and her confidence has grown in such
a short time. The staff are so friendly when I come to collect or drop her off, nothing is too much trouble and I can always message through the app which is really helpful, thank you again to The Old School House!

We are incredibly happy with our experience at the Day House Nursery. Our son is always happy to go and has excelled in his communication and speech since attending. The staff are always friendly and the nursery is always clean and tidy. The hours and additional events/activities the nursery run are
fantastic. We would happily recommend this nursery to friends and family.

My kids have been with the nursery since they opened and I honestly couldn't think of anywhere else as good as The Old School House. All of the staff have been like family to us and are so supportive. We will be so upset when they both go off to school.

I would highly recommend the nursery. The staff are very helpful and communicate very well. I wish I had brought my child here earlier. In the three months that my child has attended, he has developed so much. His behaviour and personality have grown so much. Thank you to everyone at the nursery.

My childs experience of The Old School House Day Nursery has been an excellent one. He settled quickly and easily. He soon made a good connection with his key worker and clearly, all the staff knew him and welcomed him when he arrived on the first day and every day. My child was supported to develop

The Old School House Day Nursery is a hidden gem. It’s a beautiful, clean modern setting with so much for children to explore. The staff are incredible, they are so passionate about what they do and are very professional. I really get a sense that my child is nurtured and the team really go out of their
way to set up interesting activities for the children. The food is healthy and nutritious and the children get a proper lunch and tea not a slice of toast with jam! I get a brilliant handover with a little book telling me everything at the end of the day. My child has a wonderful time there.

A really beautiful nursery that really goes out of their way to look after my daughter. It has an amazing outdoor space and the freeflow system allows for her to go outdoors more than she would elsewhere. The staff have been brilliant with me and have always answered any questions.

Having viewed a number of other local nurseries, it was a breath of fresh air to find this one! The free flow system implemented, and the amount of outdoor space was much better than I had expected. My son’s ability to communicate has really come on leaps and bounds. The helpful staff have really made
it much easier to relax, as I was quite apprehensive at first about not being with him. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the nursery and would definitely recommend to others.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2020

My name is Ellie and I am the deputy manager here at Middleton. I began my employment with The Old School House Day Nursery in March 2020.


My career began as a nursery apprentice in 2014, and my passion for childcare has continued. I have a wealth of experience and find the job very rewarding. I completed a team leading qualification, which has supported me in my role as part of the management team here since 2023. I also have two lovely children of my own!


My favourite part of the role is building relationships with the children and their families. It’s a wonderful feeling to know the children feel safe and loved in our care.
