Over all time Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Raynes Park, Durham Road has 63 reviews.
It would be great to give them sugar-free cereals for breakfast. Weetabix, rice puffs and corn flakes all contain refined sugar.
Also, I would like to see a focus on reward instead of shame or punishment. It would be good to say less of things like, 'no', 'shouldn't', 'don't'; and more of 'what do you think will happen if...' to give the children something to think about and to make them aware of the consequences of their actions.
Also, focusing on the process instead of the outcome would be great. For example, 'what are you doing here?' and 'is that fun?'; instead of 'well done' or 'good girl/boy'. I'd like my daughter to enjoy what she is doing and not do it simply for the outcome and because it will please others.

Excellent nursery, caring and friendly staff and great all-round experience. My daughter’s development has come on leaps and bounds in the time she has been in attendance (3 months) and comes home happy every day!

My only ask would be for a sugar-free cereal or porridge/muesli or yoghurt and fruit options to also be available alongside the current breakfast choices, please.

The staff are all fantastic, and I feel selected because they hold the values and standards of the nursery.
The structure of the day means the children get to have continued fun and education with a variety of activities, plus the added bonus of outdoor space.
The meals are healthy and nutritious.
The facilities are clean and safe with additional risk assessments carried out.

There is an excellent team of staff. The content of the day involves engaging activities. There is good communication from the management on any day to day updates as well as planned activities/themes. Most importantly the children love it.

The staff in both my children's rooms are amazing. Each member of staff has such a brilliant relationship with my daughter in the baby room and I feel so confident with her in their care. The daily feedback received is insightful and a delight to hear. My son can be "shy" and "emotional" at times and his key worker and room leader have also provided such support and help with him. We would definitely highly recommend.

Extremely professional, kind, understanding and knowledgeable staff. My child is happy here and it’s clear she is learning and enjoying herself while her language skills and confidence have grown. I feel confident that my child is being really well looked after in this nurturing environment and being given plenty of opportunities.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, it is very much appreciated and has been passed on to the nursery.
The staff are all incredibly friendly and engaged. They are attentive and responsive to the children’s needs. They set up fun and interactive activities on a regular basis. The food provided is also fantastic.

The teachers are so friendly and helpful, always greeting us and asking us how we are whilst we get settled and ready for breakfast. My grandson is always so excited to come into the nursery and see the teachers in his room.
The nursery has a welcoming and homely feel to it and always looks exciting.
It has been wonderful seeing you all for the last two months and thank you for taking such good care of all the children, especially my grandson!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. It is very much appreciated.
We love the nursery, the staff are all so friendly and helpful and really care about the children’s welfare throughout the pandemic. One thing that could be improved during the pandemic would be some form of video of the children in their classroom as we can’t now go in. Just to see their environment.
Another area of improvement that I see would be the diet. Some meals have multiple carbohydrates (peas, rice and corn can be in one meal sometimes). Though overall really good.
Thank you for your feedback we are delighted that your children are enjoying nursery with us. As rules have now eased we hope you have enjoyed popping back into the nursery for drop-offs and pickups. It has been a welcome reintroduction for our team as well who have missed being able to meet with...
Dicky Birds are amazing and my daughter is so happy there. The staff are very caring and have helped her to develop really well. They have handled the last year brilliantly, keeping us informed and making changes early.
My son has started attending Dicky Birds nursery when he was 2 years and 6 months and staff are very caring and do various indoor and outdoor educational activities. I was very happy to observe that my son has developed great confidence, excellent social skills and loves reading books and is started recognising numbers as well.
We've sent both of our children to Dicky Birds and think it's a great nursery. The staff are fabulous, the setting and care is top-notch, great activities and the kids are always happy to go. We've recommended it to friends in the area.
We have loved Dicky Birds- my son will have been there for 2 years by the time he goes to school this September '21 and it's just been a joy!
Some specifics:
- We initially had him in 3 days but they found space for 4 days when we requested this- and flexible to changing the 'off day'.
- I found the team to be very tactile and hands-on, keen to show love and understanding of the variant needs of the kids (confirmed by speaking to other parents).
- The handling of the pandemic has been exemplary, with lots of communication and support and guidance throughout - plus no forced fees when the kids couldn't attend!
- Small outside space but lots of outdoor excursions/ adventures.
- My son talks so highly of all his teachers and pals.
I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Dicky Birds Raynes Park!
A lovely friendly atmosphere, with helpful staff. Our child loves attending the nursery, making friends and undertaking numerous daily activities. The menu is very healthy. We especially like the feedback form that we receive every day to better understand what our son has been doing each day.
Highly recommended and we will be sad when our little boy has to leave!
Wonderful nursery. Our daughter loved it and was cared for superbly. The staff are amazing and create a very trusting and caring atmosphere. We would have no hesitation in recommending to others looking for a nursery.
Our child has attended Dicky Birds for 2 years and has thrived in their care. The staff are friendly and caring, even more so over the last 12 months of the pandemic where we have been lucky enough for our child to feel safe every day at nursery. There is a great balance of fun and structured time, where games incorporate reading and writing from a young age. I would highly recommend Dicky Birds to anyone who is considering it.
My youngest daughter is currently in the baby room at Raynes Park and we couldn’t be happier with the nursery. Everyone connected with the nursery is great - from the waiting list coordinators in head office down to the key workers within the nursery itself. The nursery has adapted well to Covid - moving drop off and collection outside but you still get a chance to interact with staff and find out about your little one's day. I’d recommend Dicky Birds to all of my friends - but if you want to get in - put your name on the waiting list as soon as possible as it’s very busy!
