Mead Open Farm Day Nursery

Wonderful nursery, great staff who are truly engaged with the children. Love the daily farm visits. I wouldn't send my daughter anywhere else.

Our daughter has been attending Mead Open Farm Day Nursery on the full time basis since she was about nine months old. The care and support we have received has always been amazing, including but not limited to comprehensive handovers, frequent focus child sheets, updates and general support we received over the past three years. The team are amazing, very friendly, dedicated and loved by all kids and parents. Our baby loves the animals and she has always enjoyed the far visits and close contact with animals there as well as use of the soft play facilities. We are actually very sad that in a few short months she will have to leave the nursery and go to the big school. I wish she could stay here a little bit longer. It's an amazing place that we could not recommend strongly enough.

My son loves attending this nursery. They have a lot of variety in their activities and are spending a lot of time outside and on the farm. They also have a good variety in their meal plans and have been able to accommodate my child's dietary requirements. The staff always seem friendly and helpful.

Our daughter really enjoys attending the nursery at Mead Open Farm. All of the staff are warm and welcoming and encourage the children’s natural interests. The added benefit of this nursery is that they also get to regularly visit the farm to see the animals and play in the on-site park and soft play areas which our daughter really enjoys. With access to the farm and the large outdoor enclosed garden areas, there are endless opportunities for fun outside which we’re particularly pleased with it but also the nursery works hard to create a natural learning environment inside too.

All the staff are lovely and always helpful. Will do their best for all the children and will always tell you what has happened in the day of being at nursery. I have told my friend about the nursery, and it has even got a farm next door to make it so much more fun for the kids. I would be lost without the nursery. So happy with everything.

I have two kids at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery, and they both absolutely love it. Lots of outdoor play and trips to the farm. The staff are amazing and have formed great bonds with the kids. The nursery also responded so professionally to the challenges to Covid and the kids settled back quickly - we can’t fault them.

We have 2 children currently attending the nursery, and they both started when they were respectively 10 months old. Our eldest has now been attending for over 3 years and very much enjoys his time at the nursery. We have seen him grow into a thoughtful, caring and sensitive child, and this has been nurtured by the wonderful staff at the setting. Due to start school in September next year, we feel that the activities and educational content of his day are making him ready for this next stage. Our youngest has been attending now for 4 months, and the nursery has been supporting us with his development. They regularly ask what areas of learning and development we would like them to focus on with both children. Weather permitting (!) there are the well developed and beautiful gardens for the children to enjoy as well as the daily visits to the on-site farm. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for their caring nature with our children.

Our daughter absolutely loves going to nursery (pre-school). She says every morning that she is excited when we are queueing up, and she sees her friends waiting in the line. She always tells me about her day when I pick her up, and she has a lot to say each time, so I know she has had an amazing day.

We decided to look at this nursery because of the outdoor space and the trips to the farm. When we visited, the staff were so welcoming, professional and really put us at ease, and we could imagine sending our little one here and nowhere else. Our little one loves coming here, and the staff really know her well. I am always so impressed with the level of care and handovers received. I have recommended this nursery to a few friends already. The food is great, the purpose-built buildings are great with loads of space for activities, and the outdoor space is great as well. The children go to the farm often, and our little one has really progressed well here. We are really happy and couldn’t imagine her going anywhere else!

All staff are extremely helpful, and I am always happy to leave my son in the kind and caring hands of such capable and professional people. My son really enjoys nursery and has the opportunity to complete lots of wonderful activities that I probably wouldn't do at home. Access to the farm and its faculties is a huge added bonus!

Since attending I have noticed that her development is progressing in leaps and bounds and I couldn't be happier.

The staff at Mead Open Farm have been outstanding, my little boy was very unsettled for quite a few weeks when he started in September but he has now settled in really well and looks forward to going twice a week.

Mead Open Farm Day Nursery is fantastic, the staff are lovely and really get to know your child. My daughter has been at the nursery for just over a year and I have nothing but praise for the staff. She enjoys every minute and gets to do so much every day, including wonderful trips to the farm! The nursery has been extremely flexible throughout the Covid pandemic and we are extremely grateful for everything they have done to ensure our daughter is safe and well cared for. The administration side of things is also so efficient!

My son started nursery at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery in September. This was our first experience of leaving our son with anyone other than family since he was born in February 2019. With everything going on, it made it even harder to leave him. The staff made us feel reassured and welcome and our son warmed to them all instantly. Although due to covid, we haven’t been inside the nursery, we have been told all about what he gets up to, the layout of the rooms, what he enjoys playing with etc and it makes us feel part of it. The staff remembered and recognised us from our very first meeting, again making us feel comfortable and at ease. It’s a very personalised touch and we know how much our son loves it. We have seen our son blossom and grow in the 2 months he’s been at nursery. His confidence has grown so much and his learning is coming on so quickly. We cannot thank everyone enough for the experiences and opportunities he’s getting to enjoy every day that he’s there.
