Mead Open Farm Day Nursery and Pre-school is part of the Farm Day Nurseries group and sits within a farm environment. It has two self-contained, nursery and pre-school buildings, a fantastic garden and the opportunity for children to visit the farm and play attractions daily.

It has modern facilities in a rural setting and provides nurturing care for children and babies from the age of six weeks to five years, with funded pre-school places available. The nursery ensures that the children have a well-balanced diet, and can cater for any special dietary requirements that may be needed.

We have been using Mead Holiday Club for a few years now. The kids have always enjoyed themselves. Easy drop off and collect. Staff are all really good. Yes they are a bit dearer than other holiday clubs but with all food included. Great activities, ease of booking online, early bird discount and 2nd
child discount and Childcare Vouchers accepted.

Holiday Camp at Mead Open Farm, May half term: My son (age 7) was very happy with the activities and the staff. He came home with stories about animal feeding, climbing the sky trail, dancing with dinos, and making good friends. He was excited to go the next day. The timetable was engaging and varied.
The staff was friendly. I’m glad my son had a great time. He will be there again soon.

My son loves going to holiday club, always has an amazing time. He always comes home with lots of things he made ranging from food to crafts. They cater to my son's food allergy with no problems. My son loves all the staff and gets on so well with them all. I would recommend it to everyone.

My son and daughter both had a great time at the half term activity day camp! There is a great range of activities for them to do and they even got to feed the animals and play on the climbing wall and outside activities. It can be tough being a working parent in the holidays but camps like this make
it a whole lot easier, knowing they are being well looked after. Thank you Mead Open Farm Day Nursery, we will be back!

Every single member of staff takes the time to understand our son's needs and requirements. The staff are always approachable to discuss changes with our son. Every day he asks to go to nursery, even the days he isn't scheduled. As soon as we came for our open day I knew this was the setting for our
family. I'm sure the food is good although he won't eat it!

Our daughter loves nursery at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery. From day one it has been great seeing her learn new skills through the nursery (walking, basic problem solving and more) She has always been fond of the staff and we have never had issues dropping her off in the mornings. As a parent, the nursery
is a great help during the week we don't have to worry about meals, nappies or creams as this is all covered. The staff always know what she has been up to each day showing their attention to detail this also reflects in the daily updates on the app.

My daughter loves coming to nursery. She feels safe and happy. The staff have a fantastic relationship with the children, they provide great care whilst supporting the children to grow and develop. My daughter has grown in confidence and her social skills have rapidly improved.

My eldest daughter graduated from preschool in August 2022 after being at the nursery since January 2019. Now my youngest has started in the baby room and I could not be happier at the level of care she has received so far. She eats well and naps so must be happy and all the staff are fantastic and

Since my child has attended the nursery, they have always come back with a smile on their face, and the mention of the staff always makes them happy. The different range of activities they do is brilliant, along with the means that are provided.

My son loves attending this nursery. They have a lot of variety in their activities and are spending a lot of time outside and on the farm. Our daughter has been attending Mead Open Farm Day Nursery on the full time basis since she was about nine months old. The care and support we have received has always been amazing, including but not limited to comprehensive handovers, frequent focus child sheets, updates and general support we received
over the past three years. The team are amazing, very friendly, dedicated and loved by all kids and parents. Our baby loves the animals and she has always enjoyed the far visits and close contact with animals there as well as use of the soft play facilities. We are actually very sad that in a few short months she will have to leave the nursery and go to the big school. I wish she could stay here a little bit longer. It's an amazing place that we could not recommend strongly enough.

Our daughter really enjoys attending the nursery at Mead Open Farm. All of the staff are warm and welcoming and encourage the children’s natural interests. The added benefit of this nursery is that they also get to regularly visit the farm to see the animals and play in the on-site park and soft play
areas which our daughter really enjoys. With access to the farm and the large outdoor enclosed garden areas, there are endless opportunities for fun outside which we’re particularly pleased with it but also the nursery works hard to create a natural learning environment inside too.

All the staff are lovely and always helpful. Will do their best for all the children and will always tell you what has happened in the day of being at nursery. I have told my friend about the nursery, and it has even got a farm next door to make it so much more fun for the kids. I would be lost without

I have two kids at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery, and they both absolutely love it. Lots of outdoor play and trips to the farm. The staff are amazing and have formed great bonds with the kids. The nursery also responded so professionally to the challenges to Covid and the kids settled back quickly - we

We decided to look at this nursery because of the outdoor space and the trips to the farm. When we visited, the staff were so welcoming, professional and really put us at ease, and we could imagine sending our little one here and nowhere else. Our little one loves coming here, and the staff really know
her well. I am always so impressed with the level of care and handovers received. I have recommended this nursery to a few friends already. The food is great, the purpose-built buildings are great with loads of space for activities, and the outdoor space is great as well. The children go to the farm often, and our little one has really progressed well here. We are really happy and couldn’t imagine her going anywhere else!

Hi, I’m Vikki Bosworthick-Bass, Nursery Manager here at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery & Pre-School! With daily visits to the farmyard, children LOVE meeting the goats, counting the piglets and bottle feeding the lambs. There is plenty of animal interaction and learning opportunities here.


We are situated within a farm environment on the edge of Leighton Buzzard and provide children with the very best early year’s education, following the EYFS structure of learning like all our other farm-based Day Nursery sites.
Mead Open Farm Day Nursery & Pre-school has its own dedicated nursery garden and boasts modern
facilities in a rural setting.
