Mead Open Farm Day Nursery

Great place.

Great place and setting. My child has really settled in well and we can see the difference each week. Our child has also learned to use a spoon for eating and has enjoyed the farm and outdoor time. The indoor space is also quite big and feels natural with a lot of light coming in. The staff identified his likes and used them to ease his settling in. All the staff in the toddler room easily recognise the name of my child and they remember the parents as well from day 1. It really shows they care for the child and makes us feel comfortable leaving our child with them.

I was very nervous about choosing the right setting for my son, but I have no doubt that I absolutely did.

Overall, the staff are all very welcoming and friendly and seem to genuinely care about my children.

Our son has been at nursery here for just over a year and loves it. The staff have all taken the time to get to know him and his individual needs, and he loves going to nursery and always has such a fun day. We knew as soon as we viewed it was the place for us.

Our child started in May 2023. Everyone working at Mead Farm have been so welcoming and so warm, my son usually finds it hard to be around a lot of noise and kids but they made him settle in so well, he’s now part of that noise and plays with all the kids. Compared to when I first admitted him, he kept to himself. I want to shout out a certain staff member who is absolutely amazing. Thank you all for the warmth and playfulness you provide, we really appreciate it when our kids come smiling and happy while leaving Mead Open Farm Nursery. They do so many brilliant activities including visiting the farm and tractor rides, it’s just a lovely place to be. Amazing events as well.

Our son has come on leaps and bounds since starting five-day full attendance at Open Mead in September. A significant improvement from when he was with a local childminder before. He no longer cries at drop-off and happily walks in and goes to play. Two particular ladies are great key workers, as are the rest, who facilitate pickup handovers.

He enjoys his time at Mead, and we're pleased with the variety of activities he participates in. The opportunity to visit Mead Farm is definitely a bonus and was the deciding factor for us when choosing a preschool.

I have been consistently impressed with the level of care, enthusiasm and support of the staff and the learning opportunities/activities at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery. The setting and natural learning style has made for a wonderful experience that my child would not have gotten in a more ‘standard’ setting. She has absolutely loved every day there.

A lovely setting that makes every child feel welcome. We really loved the Bonfire celebrations, where the nursery invited families in for sparklers, hot dogs, hot chocolate and fun activities. Also, love that they take the children to the farm every day.

We have been using Mead Holiday Club for a few years now. The kids have always enjoyed themselves. Easy drop off and collect. Staff are all really good. Yes they are a bit dearer than other holiday clubs but with all food included. Great activities, ease of booking online, early bird discount and 2nd child discount and Childcare Vouchers accepted.

I always feel my daughter is very well looked after.

Holiday Camp at Mead Open Farm, May half term: My son (age 7) was very happy with the activities and the staff. He came home with stories about animal feeding, climbing the sky trail, dancing with dinos, and making good friends. He was excited to go the next day. The timetable was engaging and varied. The staff was friendly. I’m glad my son had a great time. He will be there again soon.

My son loves going to holiday club, always has an amazing time. He always comes home with lots of things he made ranging from food to crafts. They cater to my son's food allergy with no problems. My son loves all the staff and gets on so well with them all. I would recommend it to everyone.

My son and daughter both had a great time at the half term activity day camp! There is a great range of activities for them to do and they even got to feed the animals and play on the climbing wall and outside activities. It can be tough being a working parent in the holidays but camps like this make it a whole lot easier, knowing they are being well looked after. Thank you Mead Open Farm Day Nursery, we will be back!

Every single member of staff takes the time to understand our son's needs and requirements. The staff are always approachable to discuss changes with our son. Every day he asks to go to nursery, even the days he isn't scheduled. As soon as we came for our open day I knew this was the setting for our family. I'm sure the food is good although he won't eat it!

My son loves coming to nursery at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery. he is so happy, the staff care deeply about all the children. he loves feeding the animals at the farm as well as going to soft play.

Our daughter loves nursery at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery. From day one it has been great seeing her learn new skills through the nursery (walking, basic problem solving and more) She has always been fond of the staff and we have never had issues dropping her off in the mornings. As a parent, the nursery is a great help during the week we don't have to worry about meals, nappies or creams as this is all covered. The staff always know what she has been up to each day showing their attention to detail this also reflects in the daily updates on the app.

My daughter loves coming to nursery. She feels safe and happy. The staff have a fantastic relationship with the children, they provide great care whilst supporting the children to grow and develop. My daughter has grown in confidence and her social skills have rapidly improved.

My eldest daughter graduated from preschool in August 2022 after being at the nursery since January 2019. Now my youngest has started in the baby room and I could not be happier at the level of care she has received so far. She eats well and naps so must be happy and all the staff are fantastic and have done everything they can to support her in becoming settled and happy during her time here. Thank you.
