View Full Details of Mead Open Farm Day NurseryAll I can say is thank you to Mead open farm for the care of my son. He has come on leaps and bounds since being at Mead, he may of only started in February 2025 but mini farmers (preschool) have gone above and beyond for him and me and my partner are so grateful. He and his key worker had a wonderful bond and it shows as he was always coming home talking about her. In addition to this they provided extra support for him as he struggled through transition times. He is off to school in a weeks time but he will never forget his time at mead that's for sure. So thank you again Mead!
My two children went to the Mead farm activity holiday camp and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is so much for them to do whilst there including climbing walls, silent disco, foam party, jumping pillows, indoor softplay, seeing the animals and playgrounds. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and friendly so they felt comfortable and were well cared for throughout the day. All food is provided aswell; mine are quite fussy eaters but liked everything that was provided which was a well balanced variety. We use the holiday camp each year as feel it is great value for money and something they really enjoy!
Our daughter has been at Mead for several months and we couldn't be happier with our experience. She absolutely loves the staff, who are all so warm and attentive. It's clear they genuinely care about the children and create such a positive and engaging environment. One of her favorite things is visiting the farm. She loves it so much that we even take her there on days she's not at nursery! It's fantastic that the nursery offers such unique and enriching activities. We also love that she always comes home messy and happy, which to us is a sign of a great day filled with fun and exploration. We are so grateful for the wonderful care and experiences she receives at Mead, she loves all the staff their efforts are appreciated. We highly recommend Mead to everyone looking for a nursery. Thank you all.
My child experience for his first week at Open Mead. The staff are wonderful, providing extra support to each child's needs (SEND) and the environment is nurturing. My son loved the variety of activities which kept the my child engaged and stimulated throughout his time. My son said the food was delicious - which is a plus! Amazing communication from the staff on a daily basis, and I felt incredibly lucky to found a place that welcomed all children's backgrounds. I feel confident that my son is safe, and looked after and gives me a great peace of mind while I'm working. Highly recommend. Thank you to the manager and her team . I appreciate all that you have done, to make my son's time special.
Lovely staff! That's what makes it so special (Nicola) fantastic activities. Lots to do, never bored. Only thing mine don't like is the food, more nursery food (vegan curry's) kids just like pack lunches for day camps. That's what makes it more fun! Apart from that, great all round.
My son absolutely loves the activity day camps. Every half term he is excited to visit the farm for an action-packed week, full of amazing activities. That being the soft play, or the playground and interacting with the animals.
My daughter has attended Mead Open Farm Day Nursery since September 2021. We couldn’t ask for a more loving, nurturing environment for her and we can really see how much she learns while at nursery. All the staff are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about the children and they build great relationships with parents too. They value outdoor play and the daily trips to the farm are fantastic. We can’t fault them and now we’re looking forward to our youngest daughter starting this September too!
Really happy with this nursery and the ladies that take care of my 3-year-old daughter. The environment is safe and fun with a great variety of activities. The nursery also does a lot of outside activities with them such as taking them to the farm. The ladies are all lovely and also support us on anything that we are trying to improve at home in the nursery which is so important. For example, learning to express feelings. Thank you everyone for taking such good care of my daughter.
My daughter attends mini farmers 4 days a week. There are brilliant activities daily, a balanced and nutritional meal and plenty of educational tools. The team are approachable and amazing with the children. 10 out of 10!
Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their key children, my son absolutely loves the staff and the nursery. I can already notice the difference in his learning new skills! There are lots of things for the kids to do, and lots of different areas of interest! Thank you all!
My son has been going to the nursery for 14 months and he absolutely loves it. The staff are caring, hardworking and passionate. Always go above and beyond. They recently held a sparkler night for families. Great place.
Great place and setting. My child has really settled in well and we can see the difference each week. Our child has also learned to use a spoon for eating and has enjoyed the farm and outdoor time. The indoor space is also quite big and feels natural with a lot of light coming in. The staff identified his likes and used them to ease his settling in. All the staff in the toddler room easily recognise the name of my child and they remember the parents as well from day 1. It really shows they care for the child and makes us feel comfortable leaving our child with them.
The staff have been wonderful at settling my very nervous toddler. They worked with us and treated him as an individual. All the staff are very kind and caring whilst coming across as very professional. The admin/finance is streamlined and has good processes, with dedicated office staff. The space is impressive for preschool and is always clean and tidy. They have a lovely garden and have access to Mead Farm which they visit most days. I was very nervous about choosing the right setting for my son, but I have no doubt that I absolutely did.
I have had children attending Mead Open Farm Day Nursery since 2019 and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the setting to other parents. Recently, we attended a parent’s evening to meet our child’s key worker, which was a fantastic opportunity to discuss their development. We also attended an evening event for Bonfire Night, which was great fun for all of the family. The different craft activities were clever and enjoyable, and it was lovely to get to chat with staff and other parents. Overall, the staff are all very welcoming and friendly and seem to genuinely care about my children.
Our son has been at nursery here for just over a year and loves it. The staff have all taken the time to get to know him and his individual needs, and he loves going to nursery and always has such a fun day. We knew as soon as we viewed it was the place for us.
Our child started in May 2023. Everyone working at Mead Farm have been so welcoming and so warm, my son usually finds it hard to be around a lot of noise and kids but they made him settle in so well, he’s now part of that noise and plays with all the kids. Compared to when I first admitted him, he kept to himself. I want to shout out a certain staff member who is absolutely amazing. Thank you all for the warmth and playfulness you provide, we really appreciate it when our kids come smiling and happy while leaving Mead Open Farm Nursery. They do so many brilliant activities including visiting the farm and tractor rides, it’s just a lovely place to be. Amazing events as well.
Our son has come on leaps and bounds since starting five-day full attendance at Open Mead in September. A significant improvement from when he was with a local childminder before. He no longer cries at drop-off and happily walks in and goes to play. Two particular ladies are great key workers, as are the rest, who facilitate pickup handovers.
Our son is almost four years old and has been attending Mead Open Farm Day Nursery since February 2023. He enjoys his time at Mead, and we're pleased with the variety of activities he participates in. The opportunity to visit Mead Farm is definitely a bonus and was the deciding factor for us when choosing a preschool.
I have been consistently impressed with the level of care, enthusiasm and support of the staff and the learning opportunities/activities at Mead Open Farm Day Nursery. The setting and natural learning style has made for a wonderful experience that my child would not have gotten in a more ‘standard’ setting. She has absolutely loved every day there.
A lovely setting that makes every child feel welcome. We really loved the Bonfire celebrations, where the nursery invited families in for sparklers, hot dogs, hot chocolate and fun activities. Also, love that they take the children to the farm every day.
