The Old Station Nursery Oxford, located at the heart of Oxford Science Park, caters to local families, as well as those who work within the grounds. It is ideal for working families, with easy access to the offices at the park and convenient transport links via local buses or footpaths. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The nursery building is spacious, with a bright interior and a beautiful outdoor play area. It comprises of three distinct rooms, each designed to support the developmental needs of children in different age groups.

The qualified and passionate nursery team is committed to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages the growth and development of every child.

For children under two years, a secure and comfortable room is offered, with soft play equipment, mirrors, musical instruments, and other educational toys to facilitate exploration and learning. Activities are tailored to the individual needs, interests and abilities of each child. Toddlers can progress to a slightly more structured room with age-appropriate resources, such as books, painting materials and a 'home corner' play area.

As children approach Pre-School age, they advance to a dedicated room where the team help them to prepare for primary school. The nursery has established relationships with local schools to facilitate a smooth transition for children and parents alike. The recent implementation of the 'Brighter Learning Approach', supports in school preparation, enriching the core curriculum provision by encouraging natural curiosity and cultivating key skills, knowledge, and attitudes that promote lifelong success and happiness.

Such a lovely and caring place!
My son really enjoyed being there since the very beginning. His key person was so caring, supportive, understanding and warm. I had regular updates via the application and comprehensive handover during pick-ups. My son really enjoyed being there since the very beginning.

I’ve always been really happy with my daughter’s care at nursery. She has so much fun and the team really treats her as an individual understanding each child is (undoubtedly) different! We have been really grateful for the increase in photos provided as this was very minimal when she first joined.
The team always go the extra mile with activities which is also really appreciated. Thank you team for always being welcoming on drop off and collection

This has been a wonderful nursery for our son. The staff are great with the children and make an effort to meet their needs. The transition between rooms as our son got older was handled brilliantly, and the feedback at the end of the day is detailed and personal. It really feels like they have the
child's best interest in mind. My son speaks so happily about his interactions with the adults, as well as the children and activities they do at the nursery. The manager also really knows the children and families, creating a pleasant atmosphere!

My toddler loves the nursery! He's always very happy to be dropped off, eats well and sleeps well there. They have been very supportive when we decided to start potty training at 18 months. I know some other nurseries that wouldn't help with it or not until they're over 2.

My daughter started at the age of four months and the level of care was incredible. I was nervous about leaving her so young, but she flourished in the baby room and it felt like everyone on staff knew her name! The weaning journey as she approached one year was also excellent with high levels of support
given to what we were also doing at home with food, and baby turned from a rather cautious eater to a big and varied appetite (thanks also to the wonderful catering lead). Update on her day is always personal, knowledgeable and invested and we also get regular updates through the app with clear indicators of her progress and what she's doing. Old Station Nursery feels incredibly caring and friendly and I'm delighted that my daughter has a place in this setting.

My son was in a nursery previously but since moving he’s come on leaps and bounds. The care given to my son I really couldn’t fault or ask for much more!

I would say the greatest nursery in Oxford! Location is brilliant, loads of nature around.
They will walk extra mile to help your child, they will always support you as a parent and also will look for ways to help if needed extra sessions.
My child needed extra support with development, and nursery
staff throughout the years looked for ways to help, one to one sessions, applied for educational support for upcoming years. My child achieved milestone with The Old Station Nursery! I will be grateful and proudly can say only great things about staff members.
Every day you receive feedback, photos and updates on development, how they spend days and always will ask if you as a parent need any help or support regarding your child!

I love Old Station Nursery and all the staff.
They really care and make my child feel special and always welcome and loved. My toddler absolutely loves going each day and comes home tired out from a fun-filled day. I love the updates and pictures to see what she’s been getting up to, it always looks
like the staff and children have equal amounts of fun!
Always helpful with keeping sleeping bags, dummies and cups just for your child to make it as homely as possible. No need to cart them back and forth each time! I’m so so glad I chose this nursery and it made going back to work so much easier. I know that my child is well looked after and well entertained as well as learning key skills. I can see each time she is home the positive progression in her skills, it blows me away.
I feel the staff really care too to help develop those skills and increase them each time like helping with the walker or using a pen.

My son settled really well within 2 weeks, the key person was present most days and gave a daily update on activities and progress. He bonded really well with all members of staff in the baby room, who are friendly to all the children in the room.
Every day at drop off a staff member comes to pick
up my son at the door and asks how he is and how the previous evening/weekend was. At pick-up time, there is always someone who provides an update on what he ate, how he slept and how he played/interacted with others.
Outside space/garden is accessible to all children easily. Daily moments like activities are captured in pictures and made available through an app. Framework indicators are ranked, and progress can be tracked.
All requests from parents seem to be accommodated promptly and general communication is very good.

The Old Station Nursery based at Oxford Science Park is absolutely amazing. My son is in the preschool setting and his key worker is so thorough with handovers and updating photos of what he’s been up to every week. Communication is great when needing to contact the settings for changes etc. Everyone
is so friendly, polite and really welcoming. As my son has progressed through nursery his old keyworkers have kept in touch and are still in contact with him which is lovely. My son absolutely loves coming here! Couldn’t recommend it anymore! Massive Thumbs up!

Our daughter, who has developmental delays and a working diagnosis of ASD loves her nursery and the wonderful staff that look after her. The nursery is very inclusive and welcoming and the staff are always cheerful, patient and very friendly. The resources are great too. Everyone is always very helpful
and we feel confident our daughter is happy, safe and cared for really well. The children also spend a lot of time outdoors in a lovely and spacious garden. I would highly recommend this setting.

When you send your child to nursery you hope for a few things, they are looked after by caring individuals that are invested in their well being, the environment is safe and fun, and all their needs are met (such as good meals and snacks, timely nappy changes, naps, support when upset). But they’re
also given the opportunity to learn and explore through thoughtful and interesting activities. Old Station Nursery, Oxford achieves all this and more, my son loves attending the setting. As a business, I find Old Station Nursery, has great planning, foresight, and communication and the level of care is very high and consistent. With both daily updates, and more long-term development updates, you feel well supported as a parent and very safe in the knowledge your child is being cared for by a wonderful team of professionals, who are excellently managed.

My daughter runs into nursery every time with a happy face and full of excitement! We never have any issues and the staff are very helpful, the only thing I would change is introducing a system where we can see the fluid and food intake on the app every day, sometimes we don’t get a clear handover of

As a first time mum, the staff at The Old Station Nursery were amazing at welcoming my son and making sure he was settled. They understood the anxiety as a new parent leaving your child with a stranger and comforted me as a parent offering support and advice which was amazing to feel. The staff are
open to try new routines and adjustments to suit the needs of the child. And are constantly offering support and advice. My son has an amazing bond with his key person but will happily go to any adult in the room. I feel happy knowing he has a fun-filled day at nursery. The Old Station Nursery offer some amazing activities for babies such as music, messy play, role play, song time and outdoor play. As well as ample opportunity to free flow giving the children the choice to decide. The food always goes down a treat, my son always comes home with a full tummy and a messy shirt. A sign of a fun-filled day. I couldn’t praise the baby room staff well enough! I cannot wait to see how he progresses!

Hello, I'm Charlotte and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Oxford. I am qualified BA Hons in Early Years.


We have a really friendly team here in Oxford and enjoy following the children’s interests in all that we do. We are really convenient for parents who work on the Park, but we also welcome all local families
