Located on the grounds of Overstone Combined School in the village of Wing, Ashbourne Day Nurseries at Wing provides a warm, welcoming environment where children are able to learn, play, and thrive. The nursery supports children from three months to school age and benefits from its village setting, creating a calm, nurturing atmosphere while remaining within easy reach of nearby towns, including Leighton Buzzard and Aylesbury.
The nursery features dedicated spaces for babies, toddlers, and pre-school children, with each room thoughtfully designed to support individual development and interests. Following the EYFS curriculum, the team provides engaging, play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, independence, and confidence at every stage of each child's early-years journey.
A standout feature of the nursery is its extensive outdoor learning provision. Children have access to a large outdoor area complete with a sensory kitchen, climbing frame, planting areas, and a wide range of stimulating resources. The village location also allows for regular walks within the local community, while weekly Forest School sessions provide opportunities for exploration, adventure, and hands-on learning in a natural environment.

Alongside nursery provision, the setting offers breakfast, after-school, and holiday club services, creating a supportive, familiar environment as children grow and progress through their early years.
Dedicated nursery car park for parents, with entrance located at the front of the nursery.

About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 51 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 51 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.4 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

Both of our children have attended Ashbourne nursery in Wing from a very young age and we've always been very happy with the level of care they've received. Our youngest is almost at the end of their time at the nursery and we'll be sad for them to leave. Both our children have been very well supported and always enjoyed going to nursery. The ladies are super friendly and approachable and even at times if we've had issues, they always take these seriously and I feel like action is taken promptly. We have had issues previously due to mis communication regarding changing of core hours and additional charges, which we picked up on and were able to correct, but had we been less vigilant it could have gone unnoticed. Since new management has come in it feels like this has been sorted.
Overall we are very happy and would recommend.

We've had matters of concern addressed immediately, and we have no question that our kids will be looked after to the standard we expect.
My older kids still talk about the friends they made there, and the staff are delighted to see them and find out how they're getting on.
Through many changes of staff over the years, the culture and quality of the place has remained superb, and the 'experienced hands' seem to hire and nurture more like them to bolster the ranks.

Our daughter is just coming up to the end of 4 years at this nursery, and she's been very happy here. Staff are extremely warm and have excellent relationships with the kids and key staff have been around for a long time so kids have consistency. Discipline has always seemed very good, all the kids are polite, well-behaved and have developed really strong friendships.
That said, we have had some issue with the management: major changes to how care is structured, staff changes and changes to the hours just haven't been communicated at all, and we have very little visibility into what goes on behind the door - only what our daughter tells us. We've also struggled to get our daughter the support she has needed with toileting difficulties, to the point that we are only just starting to make progress because our daughter is more able to take responsibility herself and not rely on staff to help or remind her. There is a new manager so hopefully this will change.

I am so happy that we found Ashbourne. We moved and needed a place quickly and Ashbourne were right there to help support us. They made the transition easy and stress free for myself and my Son. My Son has absolutely loved his time here and will be sad to be leaving next month to start reception. I think the program they put on and the care provided is outstanding and I trust them fully in all their decisions. We came to view the nursery in November 2021 on a recommendation from my sister-in-law who has a child in a different Ashbourne Nursery. As we are first-time parents, there were a lot of nerves and questions from our side. The staff were excellent in answering all our questions and providing the information we needed to give us reassurance. He has been there for a while now and does full four days a week. My son absolutely loves it there. He is a very busy child and is provided with an amazing range of activities that meet all his needs and encourages learning. The staff are absolutely amazing and show a genuine passion for what they do. They have created a very safe environment for our little one. The rooms are well equipped with a wide variety of toys and the outside play spaces are any child’s dream. Meals and snacks are healthy, well-balanced and cater for my very picky eater. (They do have an amazing chef). Such a great team, zero faults.

Overall Experience
Fantastic nursery, with a great team of practitioners. Everyone is made to feel welcome. My Goddaughter always has a great day. The nursery is in a great location with easy parking, I really would recommend.
