Munchkins Nursery & Pre-School Wivenhoe

We have had two of our children attend Munchkins Wivenhoe and we are extremely happy. The kids are too! Our eldest has since moved on to primary school and our youngest is in the toddler room. The team are amazing and helped us through some extremely tough times and really went above and beyond to support us. Highly recommended.

My daughter started nursery when she was 8 months old, she's now 2 years and almost 4 months and we've never looked back. She is so excited when it's nursery day, the staff are all incredible. I recommend the nursery to all my friends who have small children and would definitely use the nursery again if I were to have another child. They are so imaginative with the different activities they do with the children, I couldn't ask for more from a nursery.

From the moment we entered the nursery for our show around my little boy was off exploring the outside play facilities. The staff are wonderful and really care about getting to know each child and their individual needs and likes/dislikes. Leaving your child to be cared for by others is such a huge decision and I know that my son is being looked after well, he comes out happy and full of beans to tell me what he's been up to. I have full confidence in munchkins and am so pleased that they are a part of my son's learning journey.

Staff are very caring and attentive. Want to give a special recognition to one staff member in particular and what amazing work she has done with our daughter as we had a new baby arriving. It's been noticeable.

It'll be so sad when our Munchkins journey ends next year when it's time for school.

I trust their care and feel confident that my child is getting the right socialization, stimulation, and nutrition during the day.

Staff have all been excellent! Settled our baby in really well and after a week she was happy to say goodbye to us. The manager replied to all our messages really quickly whenever we had questions. I would definitely recommend them.

We had a wonderful experience at Munchkins Nursery in Wivenhoe. From the start, the staff was welcoming and supportive, they showed us around before our little one's first day, answered all our questions and listened to our needs. They made us and our toddler feel safe and comfortable. This helped him settle in quickly and create special bonds with the staff. We appreciate seeing pictures of the daily activities, where you can tell children are having fun and being nurtured. From what I see, the staff encourages spontaneous play and individual preferences, while proposing age appropriate learning opportunities. They planned special trips to the library, the park or the pier, which the children seem to enjoy a lot. We also appreciate receiving a detailed account of his day when we pick him up in the evening. For us, seeing our little one's wide smile at drop in and pick up is the best sign that he is in a trustworthy and positive environment, and we couldn't be grateful enough.

We love the forestry location and all the outdoor space.

Both of my children have attended Munchkins and they absolutely love(d) going there! I am so grateful for the care and support they have received and it's lovely to see them so happy when they're picked up at the end of the day. The staff works so hard to provide a stimulating, safe, and caring environment!

Could not recommend Munchkins enough! Both my toddlers enjoy their time here, always happy and thriving! All the staff are wonderful and care about the children so much and their development! Both my toddlers have the same key worker and she is absolutely amazing, they both have the best relationship with her and adore her she is so good with the children and amazing when it comes to helping with their development and skills, she is so patient and kind as are all of the girls! There's so much to offer at the nursery they even get to go out on little trips. Best place for any child! Would not send them anywhere else!

Having moved house and area in the Spring, we were looking for a new nursery for our daughter in the lead up to her starting school in September. From initial contact, through to registration, we received a friendly and professional service, which was a blessing during a time of big change for us as a family. Our daughter settled in quickly and has really enjoyed her time at Munchkins. Her keyworker, and all of the staff, have been brilliant. The nursery is a lovely setting in a great location, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My son couldn't enjoy Nursery more, he loves it at Munchkins. The staff were all brilliant at encouraging him when he first started and he has now come out of his shell and loves his nursery days. I can't thank the staff at Wivenhoe enough for how well they take care of my son. I never worry when I drop him off and I always have a happy boy when I pick him up.

My daughter absolutely loves her days at Munchkins! Her key person is just the best, she’s so enthusiastic and bubbly and my daughter has such a great bond with her. She cares for her as if she was family and it’s lovely to see. All of the staff are wonderful and you can tell they really care about the children. She always comes home happy and I feel like she learns a lot there and is thriving. Her confidence has grown and I’m very pleased with the setting.

I really can’t praise the whole experience enough.

I have two children at Munchkins, both of whom receive excellent care. The staff and facilities are first rate and the kids always come home with smiles on their faces. We've previously had some difficulties with behaviour and development and staff have gone the extra mile to make sure that strategies are in place to support them at nursery, and arrangements are in place for us to mirror this at home. Perhaps a little more pricey than some nurseries, but more than worth the extra cost. The diversity of experiences my children have from Munchkins is excellent.

We get regular updates throughout the day about how she is getting on, what she is eating, when her nappy was changed, what activities she has engaged in, etc.

My daughter started when she was three and has been at Munchkins for about 8 months. It's a great nursery, lovely location in the park and with good outdoors area, the staff are very engaged with the children and really take the time to get to know them. They plan lots of activities, this month they have been making bird feeders and learning to climb trees safely, with handouts sent to parents and carers suggesting how the learning from these activities can be built on at home. There is great communication with parents via email, the Tapestry app and parents evenings. And I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done to remain open and (so far, touch wood) not to lose a single day due to the pandemic.

At the beginning of June, we enrolled our little boy into Munchkins. We were so aware that he had been stuck at home with just Mum and Dad, having also just moved to the area, we hadn't been able to establish a friendship group for him. The nursery manager and the team (especially his key person) welcomed our son with open arms. His confidence grew, his motor skills improved, he started to come out of his shell and couldn't wait to tell me all the different activities he had done that day! He also started to form some lovely friendship groups! Munchkins is a beautiful pre-school, set in the most wonderful outdoor/indoor setting. I always felt so relaxed leaving him off knowing that he was getting all the support and love he would get at home. Thank you to the team, our son has grown at least an inch since being with you, not only in height but also in confidence!
