My son has been attending the nursery for a year now, and I feel confident leaving him there twice a week. I know he's spending his days enjoying outdoor play, engaging in educational activities, and working on creative projects. I love receiving updates, which give me a glimpse of all the wonderful
things he's been up to.
When my son first joined, it was a difficult time for our family, and a staff members empathy and thoughtful approach made all the difference. From the very beginning, she has been incredibly supportive, keeping me updated on his milestones and any challenges he faced. Her clear communication and genuine care have been truly appreciated.
I'm grateful to the entire team for creating such a nurturing environment where my son can learn, grow, and be happy.

My little girl loves going to nursery, she says good bye to me and walks straight in with one of the ladies. I love seeing how happy she is and her makaton has come along and learnt so much. When she first started I was very unsure but everyday got better and seeing her walk in and saying all the ladies

My daughter is in her 4th and last year at Munchkins in Brightlingsea. She is so ready for school and that's down to all the support and Ready Steady School programmes they have in place. She started in the baby room and the staff team worked so closely with her, showing patience and kindness everyday.
They built her confidence at nursery and she's now thriving more than ever in their preschool room. We can't thank them enough for the relationships she's built and for all that she has learnt through play.

My daughter went to munchkins from the age of 1 and half and graduated last year. She loved munchkins and we loved her going there the staff are unbelievable with the children and show so much care and love.
We loved getting updates on what she did during her day. Munchkins lets kids be kids, playing
and doing what they like. Getting messy and learning before they go to school.
I would always recommend munchkins to anyone.

I cannot recommend Dunton fields nursery enough. My granddaughter has come on so much since starting in September. The ladies always are very positive and polite and give a very detailed report of her day.

My one and half year old daughter loves going to Munchkins, she has been doing there since she was 10 months old. I love that she gets to explore and play all day. The team is amazing and really care about her wellbeing which means so much to us. They go out of there to make her day the best it possible
can be and I know she is very happy and settled there.

The ladies and their interaction / making every day fun for the children is of a high standard. My daughter is very happy there and has great fun with the staff. The children are very well safeguarded and some of the activities they carry out are teaching the children great life skills.
I have had
a few frustrations with the nursery. The nursery provides jugs of water at meal times and have a water station however, water bottles were not readily available for the children and stayed in their bags throughout the day. Despite repeated requests the water bottle stays out.
Often my child hasn't been dressed in the appropriate layers for the outdoor activities and important information, (for medical reasons) such as toileting cannot be answered at handover despite repeatedly requesting this be uploaded on the app.
However, I am pleased to say that further to this review, sent to the nursery before it is published, I was contacted by the Area Manager who understood, heard me as a mother, and has implemented change.

Thank you HJ for taking the time to write this review and you feel that your child has a wonderful time with us. In response to some of your comments children are never without access to water or cups which we always encourage, especially for our Pre School children as part of our curriculum 'Ready Steady School' which your child is transitioning towards in September. Being a free flow nursery often our children can forget to put on their coats and we like to give them the option especially when it is sunnier as when children are running around they may not feel cold but thank you for your observation. Our food is home cooked by our on site chef and we have a 5 star food and hygiene rating. We are pleased that you are happy that our Operation Director contacted you with a happy outcome as we pride ourselves on our parent partnership.

My daughter has been going to Munchkins Nursery since she was 7 months and is now almost 3. She gets so excited to go in every day to see her friends and play. Almost weekly, she is learning something new, and the staff are so accommodating to my daughter's challenges and growing needs with her age.

My daughter is going to this nursery from 1 year and 7 months, now she is 4.
She is very happy with the ladies working there, and she loves going to this nursery.
She has no days where she is saying that she doesn't want to go to the nursery, every time happy.

I cannot sing the praises of this nursery enough! My daughter started there at 18 months old and finished in August 2024 to start school.
My daughter has autism and had it not been for the huge support and help I was given by Munchkins Nursery & Pre-School, she wouldn't be where she is today.
All
the staff are amazing, but especially the senco and manager.

Our little one has been going to Munchkins Nursery & Pre-School since the beginning of September 2024. She's gone from only just crawling to walking and somewhat talking in the space of 3 months!
She loves her key person. When I say to her on a Tuesday morning, shall we go and see your key person?
She bounces up and down on the spot with a smile until I open the door and get her in the car.
She comes back happy and well fed after every nursery session and more often than not sleeps the whole night through and sometimes sleeps in!
I love the app and getting to see what she's doing/eating throughout the day. The only thing is, quite often the pictures and comment don't always load until the end of the week, but I'm not sure if that's just the app itself.
Overall I couldn't recommend Munchkins more, it's a great place for kids to learn and grow!

A home from home!
The children are definitely the focus to all who work there and the core values are evident around the nursery.
From the first day my little boy started, he settled in really well and quickly, he goes in happy and smiley, and doesn't usually want to leave when I pick him up at
the end of the school day. His key worker is kind and caring, I couldn't fault her, he always smiles when she comes to the door to collect him or if she's not there he always looks for her. He is coming along really well with his speech and enjoys playing with his friends. The team overall are amazing, polite, helpful and always make my son feel safe and content. They are so encouraging when it comes to your child's learning and development they are always open to listening to new ideas on what your child does or has learnt at home to add to their little routine at nursery.

A great nursery! Our son has been going here for just over a year and is thriving.
The staff at Munchkins Nursery are incredibly kind and supportive. Our son recently had difficulty adjusting to a new room, but everyone has been patient and understanding.

My son recently started back at Munchkins (previously went to the nursery but in the baby room a couple of years back). He has slotted straight in with the help of the amazing staff and his key worker who is so lovely. My son enjoys his time at Munchkins and I have such peace of mind knowing that when
I drop him off for his session he always has so much fun. He has progressed massively in such a short time regarding recognising his emotions and his imaginative play, I can't wait to see what the rest of this year holds for him at Munckins!

My son started here in September at 2 years old, he was very clingy to us at home, so the settle periods were very teary, (from both sides!) The staff at the nursery were incredibly supportive and after a few weeks, he was walking in by himself waving bye to us! I couldn't thank them enough and always

Our son has been attending Munchkins Brightlingsea now for about 5 months and we couldn't be happier. Our child doesn't talk yet so we gauge his happiness on his reactions and our little man couldn't be any quicker to leave our arms to go to nursery! We get lots of updates through the app and his care
diary is always regularly updated. We've had lots of lovely artwork and photos of his time playing and he has developed so much since attending. Our child's room leaders and staff are wonderful and always give me a rundown of his day at pick-up time. He absolutely loves all of them and they clearly love him too!
Our child has multiple allergies and severe eczema and this is managed brilliantly whilst he is there. They have made sure he has his own food and thoroughly cleaned up after lunch and snack time to make sure he can't find other children's food! This has been a real relief for me as I had been so worried about managing this in a nursery setting.
I highly recommend this nursery.
