I've had two boys come here who both have thrived from coming here, Each member of staff has such a special bond with each of the children and are amazing all round. I couldn't think of a better, safer and happier nursery setting to send my children to.
Absolutely amazing nursery. My daughter has been attending since one year old, and the level of support and encouragement the staff provide is so positive. The staff genuinely care for the children and seeing my child develop, learn and grow in confidence every day is so lovely to see.
My child has always been happy coming to nursery and I love that I can use the Banana Moon app to see what she has been up to.
We are so happy with the experience our daughter has had at Banana Moon Day Nursery. She's always learning and telling us what she's been doing. She made great friendships and relationships with the staff. Would recommend this nursery to anyone.
My son had moved from the baby room (the baby room was fantastic) to the mini-moons room and this has caused my son to be upset, screaming, and crying, not wanting to go to nursery anymore after he enjoyed it. Staff needs extra training or to find a new job role completely. The children do the same activities every day, given no attention, left soiled and dirty - not getting checked or changed. One member of staff too heavy-handed with another child on pick up to be put down for a nap and many other issues.
This overall has caused massive trauma for my son even after changing nurseries. Spoke to the manager and still, no change within the room, emailed the same manager but never replies to address any of these issues. Other parents have emailed and no replies again. After this experience and the issues it has caused my son, would not recommend anyone to send their child there. I feel Ofsted needs to re-evaluate the rating massively.

Poor activities, poor food and poor staff (especially the manager).
Children aged 2-3 are not stimulated due to a lack of knowledge and motivation.
If you want to pay £53 a day for your child to play with a lump of playdough (no equipment) or sat on a dirty floor painting with one colour, then send your children here.
When collecting she would cry and scream with relief. I changed nursery straight away and not one single tear. The number of children I would see crying never sat right with me.

Amazing staff at Banana Moon, so friendly and I can say I feel at ease when my daughter is there as I know she is in good hands. From day one my daughter has settled in. I also love the fact that you get daily pictures and updates on your child's activities throughout the day, also you get to know what they had to eat. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff they are so attentive to your child's needs.
My daughter loves the nursery and enjoys the activities and interacting with staff and children. I like the photos and updates, wish there were more. Would highly recommend it as the staff seem friendly.

Meet the Team (26)
Kensy has been employed at Banana Moon Rothwell since September 2017 and she holds a Level 3 childcare qualification. Kensy has worked her way up from being an apprentice, to deputy room leader, room leader, assistant manager and finally to Deputy manager. Kensy is also our Mini Moons room leader.
Ellie has been employed at Banana Moon Rothwell since April 2023 and she holds a BA Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies. Ellie is the room leader of our Baby Moons room.
Shannon has been employed at Banana Moon Rothwell since September 2017. Shannon is the room leader of our Full Moons room and she holds a level 3 childcare qualification.
Annie joined Banana Moon Rothwell in July 2021 as an apprentice and completed her level 3 Early Years Educator qualification with us. Annie is now the deputy room leader of our Baby Moons room.
Carl is the heart of our team here at Banana Moon Rothwell! Carl has been our chef since November 2019 and we feel privileged to have him.
Lauren joined the team at Banana Moon Rothwell in June 2025 and she has a level 2 Early Years Educator Qualification. Lauren is going to study her level 3 Early Years educator and is an Early Years Professional in our Baby Moons room.
Although Megan had a short break from Banana Moon Rothwell, she initially joined the team in August 2017 and re-joined us in July 2024. Megan is an Early Years Professional in our Baby Moons room and has a level 3 childcare qualification.
Megan joined the team at Banana Moon Rothwell in July 2021 and completed her level 2 Early Years Educator qualification with us. Megan is now an Early Years Professional in our Mini Moons room.

Amelia joined the team in July 2023 and studied her Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship with us. Amelia is an Early Years Professional in our Full Moons room.

Holly has been a member of the team at Banana Moon Rothwell since June 2021 and she works across all of our different rooms as and when needed. Holly also works alongside Nicola, our cleaner on an evening!
Katrina has been employed at Banana Moon Rothwell since August 2022 and she has a level 2 childcare qualification. Katrina works across all of our different rooms and supports wherever she is needed.
Jodi joined the team at Banana Moon Rothwell in August 2025 as an Early Years Professional in our Baby Moons room.
Chloe joined the Banana Moon team in February 2026 and is just starting to dip her toes into the world of early years education. She will be supporting across the nursery with different age groups before commencing her apprenticeship in the Spring.
Lucy joined the team in February 2026, having already gained her level 2 early years qualification. Lucy will be continuing her studies with us to gain her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
