Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath offers the best foundation for life. The Montessori philosophy teaches children independence from an early age and every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual.   

The nursery has a Forest School site within walking distance of the nursery, which is situated within the amazing grounds of Ewhurst Park Farm. The setting has a very strong ethos of outdoor learning, with the children having the opportunity to grow vegetables, learn about the local wildlife and make wild spaces for pollinators. They are part of the RHS Schools Gardening Scheme, and members of The Wildlife Trust, planting trees, taking part in The Big Bird Watch and nature walks.

The Nursery has a small cosy Baby Room, which caters for children from 6 months to 2 years, they encourage independence and begin to introduce Montessori philosophy at an early age.   

To complement the nursery day they also offer extra curriculum activities such as children’s yoga and music and dance, cooking and science sessions.

Unlike many nurseries, they benefit from a smaller environment and take a personal approach, the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time at Little Tots in the nursery room, helping form relationships and gain confidence, the children benefit from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care.

The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children. Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.

Open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday all year - limited term time only spaces available. Flexible sessions available.

Both our children attend Little Tots and we can not recommend it enough. Our children love their time there and are exposed to a variety of fun learning experiences. The use of Forest School is fantastic for our older one as she loves the outdoors and gets to learn about nature in a fun and interesting
way. Activities are always well thought about with real-life learning at the heart of it. The staff and management team are fantastic and cannot be more supportive. Every child is treated as an individual and the team go out of their way to make sure they can help and support and provide additional support if needed. Our children are visibly thriving and developing into confident social children. The use of the online portal/App to get updates and photos is also a great way to keep up to date with what's going on with the ability to support this by adding our own stories and photos outside of the nursery setting.

At least one of my children have been attending this nursery since January 2017. The staff show great care and compassion for the children building great relationships which last even after the child has started school.


The teaching on offer is excellent. This was especially evident when my eldest

started school.

The facilities and activities on offer are fantastic, especially the forest school, which both my boys love.

My daughter joined Little Tots in September 2020 and absolutely loves it. She runs in every morning really happy to be there and is always full of stories of her adventures when we pick her up in the evening. She has made a lot of progress with numbers and, more recently, letters since joining and I’m
confident that when she starts school in September 2022 she’ll be ready due to the excellent start that Little Tots has provided her. The children are also given the opportunity to attend Forest School each week once they turn three and this is definitely a big advantage of Little Tots, our daughter loves Forest School and I am really pleased that she is able to enjoy and learn about the beautiful countryside. The staff are, without exception, all brilliant and we’re pleased with the level of communication we receive.

My daughter has now been at Little Tots for circa 18 months and I can only offer extremely high praise for the experience so far. The staff are amazingly friendly, extremely caring and the communication is fantastic. My daughter loves the nursery and can't wait to attend each day which says everything
about the nursery. Forest school for the older children is another great advantage of the nursery. The nursery has forged fantastic relationships with the local community which has resulted in an amazing area where the children can walk to from the nursery and learn about the outdoors. If you are looking for a nursery in the area then Little Tots is the choice!

My daughter joined the nursery ‘baby’ room at just under 1 year, she has seamlessly progressed on a fabulous journey into the 2+ room. The learning environment is highly stimulating and engaging with a wide variety of activities and she is picked up with a smile on her face every day. Forest school
is another huge plus. The online portal allows us to keep fully up to date with daily activities and staff are always really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

My son currently attends the Nursery and has come so far with his confidence and development! The staff are always so welcoming and easy to approach.
They were also so caring towards him when he was upset to leave his parent in the mornings when he first started. I felt confident, knowing he would
be OK. He now runs in each morning looking forward to seeing his teachers and friends. He speaks highly of his teachers and friends which for me, is great to hear.
They are always doing fun activities and forest school is a favourite for my son! He also loves that he can spend time outside in the garden.
I am always kept informed of what he is doing for the week/has done in the day. It is also lovely to see pictures and observations of what he has been up to and seeing how happy he is there.
I would definitely recommend Little Tots Stoney Heath!

My daughter started at Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath when she was almost one years old. She absolutely loves her time at the nursery and all the people who look after her. Her confidence and ability in all areas has increased significantly. I one hundred percent recommend the nursery to anyone.
The area around the nursery is lovely and very calming, it is in a quiet country setting.

My daughter has been attending since January in the baby room. Since being there she has become chatty, learned to clap, wave, blow kisses and she knows all the actions to lots of nursery rhymes. It’s very obvious to see how much the staff interact with the kids and how much time they put into them.
All staff are absolutely lovely and it’s so nice to have a chat at drop-off and pick up. The management is brilliant and all queries or questions are answered very quickly.
My daughter doesn’t even wave goodbye to me anymore! She goes straight over to the staff smiling away which is excellent to see. The meals that she is given are different each day and has a lot of variety. Also, the activities that they participate in weekly are varied nicely. Could not recommend this nursery enough.

My son joined this nursery in September last year, after leaving his current nursery which he had been at since he was 4 months old. He was made to feel welcome from the start and it feels like he has always been there. The staff are very warm and welcoming, it is a very safe and homely environment.
My son particularly enjoys forest school and the free flow element, when permitted in the current situation. The food is very yummy and healthy, my son has become a lot more independent since attending the nursery and full of information! I highly recommend Little Tots Nursery.

My son has been coming to the nursery for nearly one year now and although he is an absolute nightmare coming in, in the mornings he settles well and has a great day. I would love to thank one member of staff and the baby room staff for helping him in his first steps in his nursery journey. I would
also love to thank the other staff for starting to settle him in the big boy room. The nursery manager is always making sure she gets stuck in with the children, so lovely to see this. I hope his remaining time with you is as great as his beginning.

All the staff work so hard supporting, teaching and encouraging our children with love and fun every day. Our youngest started 2 weeks ago and absolutely loves it. We are sad that it's our oldest child's last few months before he goes to infant school.

My daughter has been attending Little Tots since she was 6 months old. She is now 2 and a half years old and absolutely loves going. My son has been in the baby room since September and I cannot praise the nursery and the staff highly enough. My son has absolutely flourished here and is developing so well. At drop off and pick up, the staff are always there to chat to and have got to know him so well. The small nature of the nursery
means you get to know all staff well and my son always comes home smiling, happy and worn out after a brilliant day!

After leaving Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath, he talked about missing his kind teachers. He loves his big school and in a big testament to the staff
at Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath, during this Easter holiday break in April 2021, he wrote a letter to his former teachers at Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath saying how they will be surprised to see his handwriting. He also proudly made a beautiful picture, added a chocolate bunny and counted down the days until he could deliver his parcel to his former teachers.

Such a lovely nursery. We moved him from another nursery, and he is so much happier here. He gets to be himself and have more independence than his last nursery, and he's developing so well. The staff are just so friendly and personable, and it just feels like a little family. He always comes back so
happy and seems to have so much fun. They have managed so well and given our son so much normality during this pandemic. We cannot wait for him to start school in the summer.

Both my middle child and my youngest have attended little tots and they have been exceptional throughout. My youngest is still in attendance and has additional difficulties resulting in external SENCO support which the nursery have welcomed and taken on board without any grumblings. My youngest is now
thriving and has improved immensely since attending Little Tots, so much so that his specialists are always amazed at his progress. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone considering a care provider for their children.

My little boy started in the baby room at the beginning of November and at only 9 months old it was hard to know how he would settle. I cannot rate the care enough - the staff are so friendly and attentive and they have made it very easy for me to return to work. My little boy absolutely loves his time
at nursery which speaks for itself. Couldn’t recommend Little Tots enough.

We have sent both our children here and absolutely love this nursery. The staff are friendly and always cheerful and our children formed strong bonds with them. They have such a lovely way with the children to get them to corporate - something I really admire.
The children have freedom to move around
in the setting (inside and outside) as well as explore the great outdoors through forest school or trips on the bus. There is such a huge selection of activities to choose from and they always make an effort to come up with new weekly themes. When my son started school he already had some basic reading and writing skills which made the transition that much smoother. Overall, I feel lucky to have this nursery near me and thank all the staff for everything they do. It really is an excellent place!
