Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath offers the best foundation for life. The Montessori philosophy teaches children independence from an early age and every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual.   

The nursery has a Forest School site within walking distance of the nursery, which is situated within the amazing grounds of Ewhurst Park Farm. The setting has a very strong ethos of outdoor learning, with the children having the opportunity to grow vegetables, learn about the local wildlife and make wild spaces for pollinators. They are part of the RHS Schools Gardening Scheme, and members of The Wildlife Trust, planting trees, taking part in The Big Bird Watch and nature walks.

The Nursery has a small cosy Baby Room, which caters for children from 6 months to 2 years, they encourage independence and begin to introduce Montessori philosophy at an early age.   

To complement the nursery day they also offer extra curriculum activities such as children’s yoga and music and dance, cooking and science sessions.

Unlike many nurseries, they benefit from a smaller environment and take a personal approach, the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time at Little Tots in the nursery room, helping form relationships and gain confidence, the children benefit from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care.

The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children. Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.

Open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday all year - limited term time only spaces available. Flexible sessions available.

A fantastic nursery with lovely, dynamic and enthusiastic staff. Our daughter was very happy here before she started school and our younger son is also loving it. The forest school is an added bonus. Couldn't recommend it more highly, we'll miss being part of it when our son starts school.

We are so grateful to everyone at little tots, our son loves the nursery especially going to forest school. The staff spend time with the children individually helping teach them phonics and numbers etc to help the transition into school. The attention to detail is beyond what we ever could have expected
from a nursery and it's clear to see in his learning. Would recommend this nursery to everyone.

My eldest attended the nursery for 4 years and we were so impressed! My youngest son now attends and he throughly enjoys his days at Little Tots, the staff are incredible and they go above and beyond for the children. We couldn't wish for a better start for our children!

Little Tots have gone above and beyond our expectations for a nursery! Our little girl loves going and will run in so happy of a morning. She loves to tell us all the fun things she has done. The staff are all amazing and so lovely and nothing is ever too much for them! 100% would recommend this nursery
to anyone. Can't wait for our son to start next year!

I feel privileged to have had both my children here. It is no surprise to me that they have an Ofsted outstanding accreditation.
The care is 5 star, the activities that they provide for the children in 5 star, the learning and support they provide for get children in 5 star, the care and support they
provide for parents in 5 star. The individuality for each child is 5 stars the communication in the nursery is 5 stars. I couldn't rate this nursery and the whole team in how they work together so cohesively, they are amazing as a team and individually I think they have provided my children with an excellent start in life, and my children are thriving as a result of the excellent leadership and care that is provided by this nursery.

I am delighted with this nursery and the care they provide for my daughter. They keep me informed about her day, which gives me great peace of mind.
The staff are friendly, approachable, and always comply with any requests I have. Their support with my daughter's eating has reassuring and calming.
A
highlight is the day out at the forest school, where she gets to explore nature and learn through play. She always comes home excited and full of stories.
Overall, the nursery offers a safe, caring, and stimulating environment. I am grateful for their positive impact and would wholeheartedly recommend them to any parent.

Our son joined the baby room at 11 months old and has been in the main nursery since last summer. All of the staff are phenomenal at their jobs and our son loves going in each day. He thrived in the baby room and has thrived since joining the main room. He loves all of the activities and has made some
great friends, both children and adults. We know that he's in the safest of hands and very well looked after. We consider the staff to be an extension of our little family and we can see how much he means to them and vice versa. The staff have helped us receive an early diagnosis of glue ear, and they're now helping us through a referral for speech therapy. The support we've received from them is amazing and we're so grateful that like us they have our son's best interests at heart. Thank you everyone at Little Tots Nursery for all that you do.

I cannot fault Little Tots Nursery. My youngest has been going here since she was 1 and absolutely loves it. My eldest who left for school back in September still regularly talks about how she misses Little Tots and loves seeing the staff when picking up her little sister.
Each time my little one
comes home she enjoys looking through the app and telling me what she has got up to at the nursery.

We have been so pleased with the care Little Tots offers our son. He was well settled with his previous childminder, but a house move meant we needed somewhere new for him and, as he can be quite shy, we were worried about how he would find the transition. Little Tots was absolutely brilliant at helping
him settle, his social confidence has come on hugely in the 5 months he's now been there, he's always happy to go in in the mornings, and he loves telling us all about his friends there (children and adults alike!). There are lots of fun activities (yoga, forest school, dance) and it feels like the staff really get to know and care for the children. We are looking forward to our younger child starting with them soon!

My daughter started little tots in September 2025. She absolutely loves going to the nursery and has built strong bonds with the staff there from the very first settling sessions. Forest school is very much loved and there are so many wonderful activities every day for her to enjoy. The amount of artwork
that floods her tray shows how creative they are!
I appreciate the confidence they have encouraged and watched my little girl flourish in events such as the Christmas Nativity.
Fantastic nursery who are always supportive and there for anything you need.

We are incredibly grateful to the manager, two staff members and the entire team for the wonderful experience they have provided for our son over the past few weeks. Considering the difficulties he faced at his previous setting, it's truly a testament to the Little Tots Nursery environment how quickly
he has settled in and goes in so happily every day. The staff clearly make a big effort to get to know each child individually, ensuring they are happy, comfortable, and having a great time. It genuinely feels like my son matters to them.
The improvement in his language after attending for a little over a month has amazed us all at home. We are confident he will be fully prepared for school from the excellent pre-school education he will receive here.
With five children between us, and over twenty years of experience with nurseries, this has been one of the best experiences we have ever had. We are so thankful for the effort the team has put in to make both our son and us feel reassured.

I can't put into words how amazing little tots are, we sent both our children to little tots aged 1-4 and had our second child leave for year R this September. Over the 5 years, we have had both our children in their care, they both loved their time and we as parents took so much comfort from the love
and attention our children got at little tots, the staff, each and every one of them are so kind, caring and dedicated to their jobs. Thanks again for everything.

Can't sing the praises of Little Tots enough. It's such a wonderful setting for little ones. Our daughter settled in so well and made such strong connections in under a year that she was there. The staff are all so lovely, and the managers are amazing. Even when you drop your child a little nervous
(as will nearly always be the case for most, sometimes), you'll leave knowing/feeling that your baby will be so well looked after and given lots of hugs until they're feeling braver to play. We used to get told regularly, 'You picked me up too early Mummy/Daddy'.
Forest school is a great addition too and such an adventure in most weather conditions. My daughter loved having hot choccie and a biscuit picnic style while out and about, learning all about their surroundings in nature, and hunting for fairies along the way.
No surprise they got an outstanding rating. We thought they were outstanding.

My son loves to go to nursery. He has built a very good relationship with the carers and other children in the nursery. We also love the fact that the nursery encourages reading where children are able to borrow and bring a different book back every week. My son also loves forest school, where he learnt

I can't recommend Little Tots highly enough. Our time with them has come to an end after 5 wonderful years of them nurturing my two children and preparing them beautifully for school life. The staff turnover is so low which is great for consistency and the team is exceptional at what they do. Forest
school, yoga and dancing classes are just a handful of the activities that the children enjoy and you're kept well informed at collection, but also through the app and regular emails. My kids both have their favourites and can't wait to go back and visit to collect pumpkins for Halloween. We'll miss our Little Tots community so much. Thanks for being the absolute best.

Our little one just graduated from Little Tots after 3 wonderful years. We honestly can't say enough great things about this nursery, the staff are so caring and lovely, and they have really become an extension to our family over the years. There were a lot of tears on my little one's last day (from
everyone!). She learned so much at Little Tots, the activities during the day were very engaging and she was particularly fond of forest school. The nursery's caterer caters to vegans which is fantastic for us. We can't wait for our youngest to start here at the end of the year.

Little Tots has provided a wide range of activities and challenges which stimulated personal, social and practical skills. She always looked forward to going and always had a happy smile on pick up.
Friendships were made which will continue into primary school. An interesting and educational environment
with professional staff to enable growth and interactive social and communication skills.

Our daughter has been attending Little Tots for nearly a year and I could not have wished for a better nursery for her. The team at Little Tots are kindness itself, going out of their way to support both the child and parents. All staff take the time to speak with parents upon collection - detailing
what their child has been doing that day and noting any developments, or remarking on their amazing artwork or how well they have done in a particular activity. This attention to detail is just one of the many aspects that sets Little Tots apart from other nurseries.
When it comes to specific activities, our daughter particularly loves the outdoor time, role-play games and also yoga. The team put in such a huge amount of effort and creative genius to ensure the children enjoy a wide array of activities, and are able to thrive and develop at this nursery. I will be so sad when our daughter moves on to school, and I will miss her nursery teachers nearly as much as she will!

Going back to work and leaving my little 8-month-old was daunting. The team at Little Tots have been amazing in ensuring I’m kept up to date and happy to take calls for me to check how he is doing
Baby has come on so much at Nursery and they have helped so much with a clingy baby, they have helped
get him into a routine that works for everyone
He is greeted every morning with a big smile and I leave him knowing he is safe and looked after would highly recommend.
