Little Tots Nursery - Stoney Heath offers the best foundation for life. The Montessori philosophy teaches children independence from an early age and every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual.
The nursery has a Forest School site within walking distance of the nursery, which is situated within the amazing grounds of Ewhurst Park Farm. The setting has a very strong ethos of outdoor learning, with the children having the opportunity to grow vegetables, learn about the local wildlife and make wild spaces for pollinators. They are part of the RHS Schools Gardening Scheme, and members of The Wildlife Trust, planting trees, taking part in The Big Bird Watch and nature walks.
The Nursery has a small cosy Baby Room, which caters for children from 6 months to 2 years, they encourage independence and begin to introduce Montessori philosophy at an early age.
To complement the nursery day they also offer extra curriculum activities such as children’s yoga and music and dance, cooking and science sessions.
Unlike many nurseries, they benefit from a smaller environment and take a personal approach, the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time at Little Tots in the nursery room, helping form relationships and gain confidence, the children benefit from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care.
The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children. Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.
Open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday all year - limited term time only spaces available. Flexible sessions available.
The nursery has a car park attached to the barn making drop off and pick ups less stressful.

We viewed and enrolled our son before he was born and from that very first visit we knew instantly that this was the nursery for him. We didn't consider looking anywhere else. From his very first to last day the team were nothing but exceptional, the warm family and "home from home"feel has never waivered. Our son thrived in both rooms and the staff were attentive, supportive and caring from our first ever visit. Our son has loved all of the activities and he's already missing Forest school. Thank you everyone at Little Tots for playing such a vital role in his early years.

Little Tots has been so special to our family. Both our girls have had the most wonderful start to their early years in this warm, fun, home-from-home nursery. The nursery is small, but certainly mighty, and means staff genuinely know every child, their personality, interests and individual needs, helping both our girls, who are very different, settle quickly and flourish. We've loved the Montessori approach and the additional activities, from weekly Forest School and yoga to country walks, library trips and visits from the local care home. Communication with parents has always been fantastic, and the care, support and encouragement from their key workers has been exceptional.
We're sad to leave but incredibly grateful for the happy memories. We cannot recommend the wonderful nursery highly enough!

Little Tots has given my daughters the most wonderful start imaginable. With my youngest about to start school, she is leaving the nursery full of confidence and excitement for her next adventure. The staff here are remarkable - each and every one of them dedicates so much time and care to the development and wellbeing of the children, and the range of activities at Little Tots (including the fantastic Forest School) are incomparable. Over the course of their pre-school years, my daughters made some wonderful friendships here and formed strong bonds with the staff, who were deeply invested in helping them thrive. We couldn't have chosen a better setting for our daughters, and we are very sad that their time here has come to an end. Little Tots will always be such an important part of my daughters' journeys.

Over the last 5 years of bringing my children to little tots nursery every week I could not name one issue or fault there has ever been. The nursery have always been so consistent in the way they care for the children and with the information they provide on a daily basis about my child's day. I will be sad to say goodbye to the nursery this year as they have become a trusted circle in my life that I feel comfortable to leave my daughter with and know she will come out smiling from ear to ear with what a great day she has had.

As my youngest child is about to leave the nursery and begin his next adventure at school, it feels like the right time to write my final review. Both of my children have attended this nursery since they were just 10 months old, and I can honestly say that if I could give it 6 stars, I would. Leaving the wonderful team will be incredibly emotional. Throughout the years, they have cared for both of my children and I with so much love, kindness, and dedication. Every member of staff works tirelessly to ensure that each child's individual needs are met, helping them to grow, learn, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
I truly couldn't fault this nursery. It has been such an important part of our family's journey, and I will always be grateful for the care, support, and encouragement they have given us. Thank you for everything you have done-you have made such a positive difference to our children's lives, and i will miss you all dearly.

As a mum, choosing the right nursery for my son was a big decision, and I'm so glad I listened to a friend who highly recommended this one to me-it's been the best choice we could have made. From the moment we started, the staff made both of us feel so welcome and reassured. My son has come on so much since attending-his confidence has grown, and he genuinely looks forward to going in each day, which means everything to me. The staff are kind, patient, and really take the time to understand him as an individual. I also really appreciate the regular updates, which always put my mind at ease while he's there. The nursery provides a lovely environment with lots of fun and engaging activities that support his learning and development.
I'm so grateful to have found such a caring and supportive nursery for my son, and I would highly recommend it to any parents looking for somewhere they can truly trust.

We've had an absolutely wonderful experience with Little Tots. Our daughter has been attending since last year, and we are incredibly grateful for the love, care, and support shown by the amazing staff. It's so heartwarming to see how excited she gets about going to nursery every day. The team creates such a nurturing and engaging environment that truly makes a difference. Communication has been consistently excellent. We really appreciate the regular updates through the app, including details about meals, naps, and nappy changes, as well as the lovely photo updates that give us a glimpse into her daily activities.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for taking such great care of our daughter-we couldn't ask for a better place for her to grow and thrive.

The staff are all outstanding, they put the children first always. It always feels like such a warm and welcoming nursery and very clean! Which is what I personally love to see within a nursery. I travel 30 minutes just so my child can attend this nursery which I think speaks for itself! Thank you Little Tots staff for always making me feel at ease and happy dropping my little one off.

Our son found it difficult to settle when he first started nursery. The staff, especially his key carer, worked incredibly hard to support him through this transition. Thanks to their patience and care, he has built a wonderful relationship with his key carer and the other staff members.

Our son found it difficult to settle when he first started nursery. The staff, especially his key carer, worked incredibly hard to support him through this transition. Thanks to their patience and care, he has built a wonderful relationship with his key carer and the other staff members. We also sent our older son here, so we have been part of this nursery for at least three years and are still going. Over that time, we have always felt confident leaving our children in their care, knowing they are being looked after well. The nursery provides regular updates about our son, which we really appreciate. The staff have also been very supportive towards me as a mother. They understand that separation anxiety can affect not only the child but also the parent. His key carer and the nursery manager often check in and ask how I am doing, and I genuinely feel that they care not only about the children but also about the whole family.
I also love the activities they organise at the nursery.
