Kids 1st Ashbrooke Sunderland

We only wish we had chosen Busy Bees from the start. Truly the best nursery experience we could ask for - highly recommended!

My 14-month-old son started at the nursery at the end of June. He has settled in so quickly under the genuine kindness and professional support of the teachers and directors and has had a great time since. The staff are all incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, reliable and work wonderfully as a team. My son enjoys the wide range of activities on offer every day, including painting, arts and crafts, music and physical activities. He would not have had such a varied and fun experience if he had stayed at home. The food is nutritious and healthy. The building, rooms and garden are spacious and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated by the teachers. There has been a lot for my son to explore. He has already developed not only physical and language skills, but also confidence, independence and positive social interests. I feel like I have an extended family and friends here.

My now twenty one month old started at this nursery at the end of March. He was extremely nervous and the staff could not have been more helpful. They gave him three taster sessions to really settle him in before starting him officially. They are very encouraging to myself, making me feel really comfortable and reminded me I can ring any time if I just want to know how he is getting on. All staff I have come into contact with have been super friendly and helpful. The app is a great way I can see what my son has eaten and how much he has slept before I even pick him up. They also add pictures at times so I can see what he is up to.

My daughter loves going to nursery. I am very happy with the standard of care she receives each time she is there. The nursery is very clean and doesn’t have that odd smell that some nurseries and schools have. I love that they have a garden for the children to play in. It has been lovely to watch my daughter progress through the different rooms that are available for different ages of children. The staff are very caring, my daughter has a good bond with the staff members in her room both past and present. The variety and quality of food is great. Overall I would highly recommend this nursery.

My child's teachers are so lovely with him and he enjoys going to nursery so much. They are always updating the app so I know how he is doing throughout the day. Staff are polite and very lovely to speak to.

My little girl has attended Kids 1st Sunderland since she was ten months old, now four years old and she absolutely loves it. The staff are all so amazing, so friendly and welcoming and I know she is in safe hands when I drop her off. All of the rooms are great, always clean and full of interesting activities, as well as the outdoor space each room has and they have a great way of making learning fun. The manager is genuinely fantastic, I’m sure she knows every child by name and is a real asset to them. We will be really sad when my little girl leaves this summer to go to school. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

My little boy has been going to Kids 1st Sunderland for over a year now and I can say that the staff go above and beyond to care for him. It is quite a stressful time putting your little one into nursery and the staff here really listen to your needs, taking any anxieties away. Thank you to all staff, keep up the good work!

Always a friendly welcome from staff when dropping off my daughter. I picked this nursery because of the purpose-built building/layout. I feel my daughter is safe and well looked after each day. She always seems happy when collected and asks to go back on her way home. Keep up the good work!

Staff are amazing, enthusiastic and go above and beyond for each child in their care. I couldn't ask for better carers to look after my children while I'm at work. Not only do they support my children but they have supported me too as a mother when I have needed it. They have brought my sons on in leaps and bounds in terms of their education and well-being.

Kids 1st is an exceptional nursery, with courteous and welcoming staff. The reason the nursery was chosen for our grandchildren was the staff, their professionalism, caring positive attitude and kindness. Each day, we and our grandchildren, are greeted with smiles and a great positive attitude, and we know they are in safe hands. We always receive feedback each day, and we can see how the children have developed increased social skills and confidence. The management team are tremendous, and obviously hold very high standards; they are also extremely approachable, coupled with intelligent initiative.

I am extremely happy with the level of care that Kids 1st provide for my daughter. They are an excellent nursery and the staff always go above and beyond in the level of care they provide. My daughter loves going to nursery and has excelled so much since attending. The management team are very professional, approachable and accommodating when dealing with issues. A wonderful nursery with the perfect balance of one to one care, learning and exploration. Our little one has been there for over 18 months and we have nothing but good to say about the nursery and the genuinely lovely staff that work there.

My son has been attending for over a year now since he was 10 months old. He settled in very well as the staff were very good each morning at drop off by giving him cuddles and making sure he was feeling secure with them. The nursery has an excellent food menu which is displayed so that I can see what he's going to be having. I get a talk through at pick up of what he's been up to during the day, what he's had to eat and how long he's napped all of which is very good at giving me insight into what his day has been like.

Kids 1st Sunderland is an absolutely incredible nursery. The staff, especially the keyworker, deputy manager and manager have been incredibly flexible and understanding about my daughter's anxiety about starting nursery, providing extra settling in sessions at no charge. Her keyworker is very caring, stimulating and nurturing, and she's taken the time to get to know our daughter really well, and she treats her as an individual. She has a great, varied and healthy diet, gets good quality sleep and gets to play with a range of stimulating toys. In the two weeks she's been there she's developed enormously. The nursery is clean and relaxed, the children are happy and calm, and the facilities are fantastic - lots of outdoor space, spacious, bright and well-decorated rooms. I have complete confidence in the team caring for my daughter. I know that when I drop her off, she'll be in a safe, fun and caring environment, and she'll have a great day. Thank you so much.
