Barley Wood Nursery in Wrington, offers places for children aged from three months to five years old.

This unique nursery is set within 11 acres of private parkland and woodland, offering a play-based curriculum both within the nursery and the grounds of Barley Wood Estate.

The nursery has a forest school approach, offering children opportunities to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland environment. This unique setting allows children the freedom to learn outdoors as well as ignite their wonder and curiosity and develop a life long love of nature and outdoor discovery.

Children enjoy freedom to explore the open space, have fun and learn through play.

Outdoor activities include nature exploration, woodland walks, den building, campfires, obstacle courses and visits to the pond located within their Italian garden.

We accept Early Years Education Funding, Tax-Free Childcare and Childcare Vouchers by way of payment.


Our private fees are £6.50 per hour 8am-1pm, 1pm-6pm or 8am- 6pm.
7.30am starts available if required.

Fabulous preschool in a beautiful setting. There is so much outdoor space for the children to explore - from woodlands to more formal gardens and a fish pond. The carers are great - engaging and fun and are always happy to have a chat about what my son's been up to that day. My son loves going to preschool
at Barley Wood and is always full of exciting news when he gets home.

Since first attending nursery 18 months ago, our son has developed noticeably in many ways which is a testament to the team at Barley Wood Nursery. We know he enjoys his time at nursery and actively participates in many of the numerous activities that are laid on. We have found the level of childcare
to be first class and feel confident in the ability and commitment of the staff at Barley Wood Nursery. The amount and nature of the feedback we receive on a daily basis is just right for us and assists greatly as our son continues to mature and develop as an individual.

We have 2 children who attend Barley Wood Nursery and they both absolutely love it. All the staff are friendly and approachable and know the children really well. They plan interesting and inspiring activities and even take the children on days out in the minibus. They make great use of the surroundings
including the woods, pond and extensive gardens.


We are given individual daily feedback and challenges to support their learning at home. We feel very lucky that our children are looked after in such a caring, supportive and stimulating environment.
