Our daughter has been attending the nursery for just a month, and although she was a little unsettled at first, we've already seen such a positive change. The team have been really warm and supportive, helping her to feel comfortable at her own pace. She's now going in much happier and seems to be enjoying her days more and more. We're grateful for the gentle care and reassurance they've given her during this big transition.

I honestly can't thank this nursery enough for what they've done and continue to do for my son. From the moment he started, it felt like everything finally clicked for him. The outdoor space is one of the things I love most about the setting-he absolutely thrives when he's outside, and seeing him so free, happy, and himself in that environment makes mine and his day. I was a little concerned about his speech but since joining he has come on leaps and bounds and I'm no longer concerned. He's not always the easiest character, and I know he can be a real handful at times, but the way the staff handle him is amazing. The excitement he shows to be going to nursery is priceless. The way he runs in with a smile, tells me everything I need to know. This nursery has given him confidence, joy, and a place where he truly belongs. I'm so grateful to the entire team for the love and care they show him. I can go about my day knowing he's in safe hands. Thank you barley wood.

My son attends Barley Wood and I feel very lucky to have found this place as he settled so well and I believe that is largely down to the caring, kind and friendly team at Barley Wood. One of the key other reasons we chose this nursery was due to the grounds and I love knowing my son has been outside exploring for much of the day. The staff are very dedicated and passionate about children's development and happiness.

Our two children, currently four and 18 months, both attend Barley Wood Nursery. It is located in a beautiful setting with various gardens, woodland and spacious rooms for activities. Our children have a great time at this nursery and have bonded well with the staff. The staff are fantastic with the children and encourage really varied activities. The management are very welcoming and well organised. We feel very comfortable and happy with Barley Wood and would definitely recommend it!

My son had a short-term placement at Barley Wood in September. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and my son absolutely loved it. Perfect place for being active and outdoor adventures. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Both my children attended Barley Wood Nursery from babies and have been extremely well cared for. There has been excellent communication with staff. They have always listened to my needs and supported us as a family. My son found settling into nursery difficult and had a few struggles throughout his time there, the staff really understood him and ensured he was supported well within this environment. As my children move on to school and pre-school they are both going to miss their time at Barley Wood Nursery. As a family we are grateful for the love and care our children have been given, they have helped our children grow into the great little people they are now and will be in the future. Thank you to all at Barley Wood, you do an incredible job!

From the moment our daughter joined, we've been impressed by the excellent communication. The staff provide daily pictures and updates that put our minds at ease and show exactly what she's been up to, like feeding the cows or enjoying time in the fresh air. Our daughter, initially struggled to settle but thanks to the supportive and attentive team, she has come on leaps and bounds. The nurturing care, exceptional outdoor space and activities have really helped her grow in confidence. We've seen such wonderful progress in her, emotionally, socially and developmentally.

Staff who very clearly care about the children and take their roles seriously as professionals. They also listen to feedback from parents, inviting input and keeping us informed. They encourage the children to develop their skills and explore their interests. We've noticed a big improvement in our child's social skills since joining. The nursery itself is set in a beautiful building and outdoor space where nature is explored and the kids are allowed to get messy to make the most of it. Cannot recommend Barley Wood Nursery enough.

We send our two year old boy to Barley Wood and I could not be happier with the nursery, staff or the setting, its absolutely brilliant, he is so happy and really comes home full of the joys! The outside space is second to none and the staff are all wonderful and caring. I have no hesitation in recommending Barley Wood

My daughter has been with this nursery for the past three years, and I honestly couldn't recommend them highly enough. The team have been consistently caring, nurturing and supportive, especially as my daughter can be quite reserved at times. They've created a safe and encouraging environment where she's been able to grow in confidence, and I've always felt reassured knowing she's in such good hands. The staff have also been incredibly understanding and patient during those occasional difficult drop-offs, which has made all the difference. A fantastic nursery with a genuinely dedicated team! I'm so grateful for everything they've done for our family.

Barley Wood has played such a huge part in our lives. We've had children attending for the last 8 plus years, and it is with a heavy heart that our youngest now leaves this wonderful setting and moves to school. We will miss the daily interactions with the amazing staff, their kindness and the way they have nurtured our children. For all of our children, Barley Wood was and still is remembered as their 'happy place.' It's quite simply a special place where all children can thrive regardless of their ability (one of ours has complex special needs.) Our children all leave Barley Wood as confident, enthusiastic and inquisitive children of the world. It's been beautiful to see how their social skills and relationships with others have been nourished by all of the staff. Our son speaks so fondly of the staff and it's clear they embrace him, quirks and all. All children are celebrated. In the absence of nearby family, Barley Wood has been a life line for us. Thank you Barley Wood!

Barley Wood is an exceptional outdoor nursery where children thrive in the beautiful natural surroundings. They spend most of their time exploring the extensive outdoor space, enjoying adventures in all weathers, and discovering something new every day. The setting offers a wonderful variety of areas to explore, sparking curiosity and a love for nature. The staff are warm, caring, and truly dedicated-our girls have adored every single member of the team. We love receiving regular updates, which give us a lovely glimpse into their fun-filled days. We've been part of the Barley Wood family for the past six years with both our daughters, and we couldn't recommend it highly enough to friends and family. It's a truly special place!

Barley Wood Nursery has been a great place to learn, make friendships, grow confidence and experience so many different activities. The outdoor adventures and space is so exciting for the children - every day is different and so creative. Both my children have enjoyed their time at Barley Wood, always excited to attend and this is down to the staff, the support and engagement is of the highest standard.

We feel incredibly fortuitous that BW happens to be the closest nursery to where we live as it would be worth the drive even if it wasn't. Both our sons have been to BW & absolutely blossomed during their time. Their typical day begins at 7.30am & they often stay until 6pm & the team help to ensure a home from home environment & enable us to relax at work safe in the knowledge they are in great hands. Our eldest will regularly feedback that he & his peers have been out exploring in the woods, rolling down hills or chasing around the vast grounds. When they are not playing outside they're engaged with stories, rhymetime, themed play or structured tasks indoors focusing on motor skills, vocabulary or personal development & time is set aside for independent play & developing lasting friendships too. Furthermore they get our boys to eat an extensive & varied diet of culinary delights. The team work incredibly hard & put in thankless hours & we are grateful beyond words for their efforts.

My daughter has been attending Barley Wood since October 2022 and has been in each of the rooms at the setting. She absolutely loves it and the staff are so helpful with settling her into a new room each time she has moved up. The outside space is absolutely fantastic with extensive woodland and plenty of running around space as well as a fish pond and "secret garden". My daughter has also learned really useful skills such as using a knife and fork, using the toilet and washing hands properly. The nursery staff have a "focus week" for your child and feedback any observations which is so useful but also so lovely. The staff really want your child to have a positive experience at nursery and engage with the parents as much as they can. I love the annual summer and christmas fayres and the nativity play that is organised each year. Overall my daughter is very happy at Barley Wood and I would 100% recommend this nursery to a friend.

Both of our little boys attend Barley Wood and have done since they were 18 months old, they are now 2.5 and nearly 4. The staff know us on such a personal level and the boys are so excited to go to nursery each week. The nursery itself is amazing, the outdoor space is like no other nursery we visited, with multiple outdoor areas including a large fish pond, several wooded areas and gardens to explore. The staff take the children out every single day regardless of weather, which our boys love. They provide a variety of healthy meals and I love that the boys get to try new things. The nursery involve the families in things like parent forum meetings as well as family fun days which are great. I would recommend Barley Wood to anyone.

If your child loves being outside then this is the perfect nursery for you. The private grounds include woods where the children can make campfires, Italian gardens with far-reaching views and lawned areas perfect for the summer. The children get outside twice a day no matter the weather which I think is very important for their mental and physical health. My daughter started in rabbits when she turned 1 and my new arrival is already on the list to join in 2026. I fully trust the staff at Barley Wood and they work really hard to develop a relationship with you and create a family environment. Invoices are easy to read and questions are answered promptly. Barley Wood use the app where you can view your child's meals and sleep and photos are taken throughout the week to show you what your child has been doing. Breastfeeding is supported and the baby room works with you to help with any weaning, or sleep issues. I love Barley Wood and wouldn't trust my children with anyone else!

Barley Wood Nursery has a warm welcoming environment. The nursery is set within woodland, allowing this setting to be incorporated into the children's learning as much as possible. The individual needs of the children are well met. I found it to be a safe place for my Granddaughter to be. The staff are approachable, welcoming and knowledgeable.

I cannot recommend Barley Wood enough. Both my children are currently at Barley Wood and I could not be more happier with the nursery. The setting is second to none, the children play in the woods, explore the Italian gardens, look for big bad Barry (the fish), make a campfire, roll down the hill, and are out and about in all weathers, even the babies. My children are so happy there, they have lots of wonderful friends, eat delicious looking food and are looked after with such care and attention. The staff are amazing: compassionate, kind, fun, patient and fair. They know the children individually and really care about each and every one. I wish every child could have access to a nursery like Barley Wood.

If you're looking for a nursery, the search is over. This nursery is absolutely incredible with the most amazing surroundings and staff which, combined, create the most incredible environment for your child to thrive in. From the kitchen staff to the team and the management, they are all entirely focused on the happiness and development of your child. The team are best in class and do the most amazing job. I would happily recommend this nursery to all parents and I'm so grateful for everything they've done for my daughter over the last two and a half years. Wishing the deputy manager and the team continued success and thank you for everything.
