Preschool Academy is a family-run nursery opened in 2015 to offer professional childcare and a sound early years learning environment, ideal for families in Coatbridge and surrounding communities.

As well as a homely interior, the Preschool Academy has a large secure garden that is ideal for physical play, while the facility itself is also fitted with a secure door entry system.

An age-specific approach to learning is adopted, with a Bright Stars area for babies from 6 weeks to 18 months, Little Learners for children aged 18 months to 2 and a half years, and Little Scholars for children up to 5 years of age.

Preschool Academy is in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council.

Funding & Fees

£75 per day, £57.50 per morning or afternoon session, £375 per week for full time. These prices include a home cooked and healthy breakfast, lunch and evening meal as well as snacks throughout the day. The nursery also provides nappies and baby wipes. We work in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council to provide funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year old childcare places.

My daughter has attended Preschool Academy for over two years now and she absolutely loves it. She has moved from Bright Starts room for babies to the Little Learners (2-3 years), to the Little Scholars (3-5 years) and has never really had any issues at all.

This nursery is AMAZING. It’s a home from home and my son loves it.
He is encouraged to learn and grow at his own pace. He loves the girls and is especially close to one of them. I know he is safe and secure and I am confident that he is loved.

Cannot fault this nursery for the care provided to my son who started with them in April this year when he was just under a year old. My son loves attending and has come on leaps and bounds in his learning and confidence since he started. 100% recommend to anyone who is thinking of placing their child
in a childcare place. It’s great having peace of mind knowing that my son is being cared for to the highest standard.

Myself and my husband would recommend this nursery 100%. Already have recommended to family and friends. The staff are amazing with the kids. My son absolutely loves going to his nursery. We have seen a big difference in our child’s development, social skills and confidence in attending Preschool Academy.
He is also eating a lot better since attending and trying a lot more foods that he would not normally do so. Big thank you to all the staff in preschool. We can’t thank you all enough, having peace of mind knowing our son is in an amazing environment with individuals that really care and go above and beyond to bring in the kids while we are at work. Well done to you all.

My son goes twice a week and he loves his time there. He's nearly two and when you ask if he had fun at nursery he always nods his head. The staff are also very helpful and friendly and he's very comfortable with them.

This is a warm and friendly nursery with a real family atmosphere. My daughter has been attending for over a year and has built up really strong relationships with both the staff and other children. A wide variety of activities and outings are undertaken and they have built up strong links with the
local community.


I know when I go to work she is somewhere where she is not only happy, safe and well looked after, but where she is nurtured.


She can have breakfast, lunch and dinner (all freshly prepared) and morning and afternoon snacks. The menus are varied and well balanced.


I would recommend this nursery to anyone.

My child has come on in leaps and bounds since starting this nursery, even his speaking is coming on. He really enjoys it and the staff are really friendly and good with the kids. The manager is lovely too, keep up the good work guys!

My wee boy previously went to a childminder and didn’t settle. Another parent recommended this nursery to us and we’ve never looked back. The manager was really patient and kind and allowed my wee one a settling in time which met his needs. He absolutely loves going and I feel the staff really know
him inside out. This is a great comfort knowing your child is in good hands when you drop them off. It’s like a home from home for my son.

Fantastic nursery with lovely staff. My son sees his nursery as a home from home and cannot wait until his little sister joins him!
Very nurturing setting and my son's language and numeracy have gone from strength to strength.
I wouldn't have my children attend any other nursery and find the nursery
provides me with strong individualised support as a parent.

Children have just started in this nursery. We had them move to this one from another one and what a difference. Kids settled no problem and staff are amazing. Would definitely recommend this to family and friends.
